Excellent quality, worth the price!

I spent a long time looking for ties & pocket squares for the Groom & groomsmen to match our tropical wedding theme, I was a little hesitant at purchasing from Mrs Bow Tie as it was quite pricey but I'm so glad I did. I had a couple of problems with the website but their Customer Service team were super helpful & quick at responding. The quality of the ties and pocket squares are exceptional, they were well packaged and received in good time. I would definitely recommend!

Bow Ties

I have worn Bow Ties for many years. In industry ties can be dangerous, they dangle. I was delighted with the ties I bought from Mrs. Bow Tie & 'the Special' they made for me in Ukraine colours. I wear them in preference to regular ties because they are individual and 'self-tie' are never the same twice. The grand-children are delighted when I wear one.

Cardboard and sample as a pocket square

I ordered a pocket square and matching tie. The colour and style was perfect. Sadly I was sent a pocket square no larger than 1inch by 1inch stapled to some cardboard for £15.00. Absolutely astounding and clearly daylight robbery! I hope they honour a refund!

Prompt turnaround

Asked for a custom order of a large bow tie, which is no longer made as standard. Received a very prompt reply and link to pay. Item was made quickly and shipped just before Christmas, arriving just afterwards - very quick turnaround despite the late request from me. This is the 4th Bow tie I've got from there and my husband loves them

They illegally capture your personal data after just visiting the website

I was looking for a pocket square for my husband, and tentatively put one in my shopping basket. After seeing the price of p&p I decided not to proceed, however somehow (and totally illegally and against uk data protection laws) I have since received emails to both my registered email addresses and a text to my mobile asking me to proceed with my order. This is without having ever shopped with this company. This is highly unethical and illegal practice and I will be reporting them the UK Information Commissioners Office.

Poor customer service - no refunds and ignored.

The products seem to be good quality but unfortunately the customer service lets them down. I returned two items and haven't received a refund for either. I've emailed twice (the first email sent over two weeks ago) and have been ignored. I'm starting to feel like I won't be getting my money back.

Not great quality of products

Hi,

I ordered two ties and pockets squares, totalising £500 for each, therefore £100.

Sadly the material is not great on either, and I wouldn’t recommend purchasing if looking for great material, and for the fact speed on delivery.

Their return policy isn’t great either, only 14 days from receipt of product and not easy to find when you received the product.

I did like the floral one and the fact it is British, also speed of customer service response is good, but the product and their delivery times, return policy let’s it down. Would’ve given a 1 star but opted for 2

Overall would not recommend.

Amazing! Love the products and the service

Amazing!! Have had lots of various bow ties, ties and pocket squares and love them all. Such great quality, and the best customer service. On a few occasions I have left things very lat minute and they are always super helpful in getting the order out in time for the event!

Came highly recommended, faultless experience throughout

Needed 4 bow ties for my wedding yesterday and Chris from the support team at MBT has gone above and beyond throughout the buying experience.

From receiving a reply to the initial order of 4 different styles and colours of bow ties asking about my day, explaining that their ties are made bespoke so would I be happy with swatches instead for trying on, everything has been smooth running and I received everything in good time.

Even returning the goods was easy and I had my return approved and refunded within a matter of a few days.

The bow ties looked fantastic on my wedding day, everyone was commenting on how great they looked. The quality of the fabric is brilliant, and I’ll definitely be shopping with MBT again in the future

Timing was was very tight on receiving a tie for my daughter’s wedding. I emailed Mrs Bow Tie to ask whether they could ‘hurry’ delivery which they did. I received the tie ( which was beautiful) in time! Thank you

Even better than the product is the fantastic customer service, the team are very responsive to emails and ensured that my order was rushed for me to receive in time for my wedding - despite it being my fault for leaving it so late! Wonderful products

Bought wonderful dog collar and lead, three masks and two ties. All came quickly and in great stylish packaging - perfect as two items are to be given as gifts! The packaging is cardboard too so good for recycling.

The quality of the products is really good - masks are a good fit, ties are superb quality fabric and look hand finished. Our pooch looks great in her new attire!

Proud to support young British company and will certainly be buying again!

Dreadful Customer Service

EDIT: This review is purely based on the customer service, responses from them and lack of help - the rest is for clarity around the situation.

Hugely disappointed by the appalling customer service that Mrs Bow Tie offer.

Before I go any further, I have no doubt that MBT will come on here and dispute whatever I say, as they seem to do that with every review, however please do read on if you are considering buying from them. Everything mentioned below is recorded via email.

I placed an order on their website that amounted to £69.69, according to their website "Standard Delivery is free when you spend over £30.00" (quoted from their website), however when going through to check out there is a free option of "no rush" delivery and then you must pay for standard delivery.

Upon contacting MBT, they told me that what I said was incorrect and in fact they were within their rights to charge me for delivery (I do not disagree, however their website is inaccurate). As this was needed in a weeks time, I requested that what I had paid for standard delivery be upgraded to expedited as this wasn't an option on checkout even though their website states "Priority Delivery" is an option. After a bit of back and forth with MBT customer service rep saying I was wrong, they stopped replying.

Fast forward to the next day and they've just completely cancelled my order?! With no warning or apology email, the justification is "we did not have enough stock to fulfill your order", which seems convenient having just had a back and forth via email. They now will not reply to me whatsoever.

Overall, I would NEVER order from this company, awful customer service to not just myself but many many others it would seem. These bad reviews aren't a coincidence and MBT can only dispute so much before it becomes obvious that they need to look at themselves for the issue.

I have now ordered with another company and it is being delivered in two days. Many companies are more deserving of your money than this business who have a severe lack of customer service skills.

Terrible customer care from Mrs Bow Tie

So disappointed by the terrible customer care from Mrs Bow Tie. I had previously purchased a lead and loved it so now purchased a new lead and collar. The collar is impossible to undo as the clasp is so stiff. Was happy to get item replaced except now penalised and have to pay for the return. Surely they should be responsible for this if their item is too stiff to undo and therefore not fit for purpose. Would never buy anything from them again. A simple sorry and no problem we will pay the £2.95 postage on the return would have gone a long way to rebuilding trust. This is simply not the way to conduct business. Shameful

We're so disappointed to see you felt we deserved an overall 1-star rating and review, especially as you had previously shopped with us and "loved" what you received. Unfortunately, I don't believe your review reflects what really happened.

When you reported that you found the clip to be too stiff, we apologised and explained that this wasn't something that had been reported about our dog collar clips before, so we will certainly review this upon receiving the collar back. We also offered to replace the clip for you and return the collar.

Upon providing the link for you to submit a return request, you demanded we send a pre-paid postage label, to which we explained that we don't offer free returns and it is clearly stated in the returns policy that customers must cover the cost of returning the item.

To this, you threatened to report us to your credit card company if we didn't pay the postage, told us it was our "legal responsibility" to pay for it as the item was "not fit for purpose" because "If you've walked a dog before, which I assume a company such as yours has, you need to be able to undo the clasp easily with one hand".

In response, we said; "Hello Lauren, We haven't disputed your claim that you have found the clip too stiff, but this does not render the item faulty because it can still be clipped and unclipped, albeit not as easily as you would like, and therefore it is not considered "not fit for purpose". For example, if you bought a pair of shoes and found them to be too tight on your feet, this wouldn't render them faulty or "not fit for purpose", but it would be a legitimate reason for why you would want to return the item. As I previously mentioned, we will of course investigate this upon receipt of the item back, and we would be happy to replace the clip and return it to you if you would still like the collar. In regards to needing to unclip the collar with one hand, I'm afraid this is preference rather than requirement, and this is evident from the variety of different collars available, such as buckle collars (often made of leather), which acts similar to a belt or watch strap and usually requires two hands to undo. Our returns policy was readily available when you placed your order, and by doing so you accepted these terms of purchase. If you would like to return your item for repair or refund, you will need to post the item back at your own cost. Best regards, Chris"

We didn't receive a response to this email, nor did we receive the item back at our premises.

I understand that you didn't want to pay for the postage costs to return the item, but this policy was clearly stated on our returns policy, was in line with consumer rights legislation, and all other customers understand this if they wish to return an item.

We made very reasonable efforts to rectify the issue for you, and I'm disappointed you overlooked these efforts, could not see reason, and instead chose to leave a negative review because we wouldn't meet your demands.

Masks sizing inaccurate, apalling customer service

Masks sizing inaccurate, customer service appalling(read other reviews on Trustpilot!)
Ordered 4 masks based on the sizing advertised for both myself and Hubby. We chose them because our current masks are either the same size (mine) or slightly smaller (Hubby). My current mask fits perfectly but the new mask (same sizing) is nowhere near what it should be. Hubby's new mask that should have been bigger based on advertised sizing, is actually smaller than his original mask. We very briefly tried on one mask each, left the 2nd masks sealed in their packaging. Customer support/service is appalling and will not take the unopened masks back, nor will they offer any type of refund. They state that terms & conditions do not take masks back - even unopened masks. If they fitted and were true to size I would have been happy with the quality but don't take the risk and waste your money - best part of £50 down the drain and now cautious of buying from elsewhere in case the same happens. Awful company!

When we launched face masks in June 2020, to supply demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, we followed trading law about the sale and return of face masks. This stipulated that face masks should treated similar to the sale and return of underwear and should not be returned. This is because, generally, when items are returned they must be returned in good condition so that the retailer can resell the item to someone else.

For public health in an ongoing pandemic, it would be highly irresponsible for us to resell face masks to other customers when they have potentially been worn by someone else. For this reason, it would also be irresponsible and unfair for us to expect our staff to handle returned face masks, putting themselves and their families at risk, many of whom were in the vulnerable or high risk category.

In line with these trading laws, we implemented a clear policy that face masks could not be returned, and clearly stated this policy on the Returns page and every product page for each face mask. By placing an order, you are accepting and agreeing to these terms of purchase. This policy was adopted by almost all other retailers of face masks, and did not affect your statutory rights.

As the packaging for the face masks can be resealed, we had to enforce a strict no-returns policy because, sadly, some customers have tried on face masks and then claim never to have removed them from the packaging. As we have no way to guarantee a face mask hasn't been tried on or worn, we could not make any exceptions.

Despite our best efforts to explain the policy and our reasons when you expressed your wish to return them, we understood that anything short of making an exception and allowing you to return the face masks for a refund was not going to be enough.

We understand that some customers might find the non-returnable policy frustrating or disappointing if they want to return their face masks, but we have a responsibility to put people and public health ahead of profit and positive reviews.
