I generally refrain from writing negative reviews but i'm more than happy to write this one.
I generally refrain from writing negative reviews for companies because It varies with experience and it can tarnish the company's reputation. But I'm more than happy to write this review because of the lack of care and customer service from the manager and mechanic at the Keilor Downs My Car branch.
My Subaru needed Its routine 6-month service, there was nothing wrong with the vehicle before the service. When I got the car back, I knew as I started driving that there was something wrong with the car. It was idling extremely low. I thought "maybe, it needs to warm up", I didn't want to blame the mechanics from the get go. I went to two appointments that day with a total driving time of 20 minutes and the car had turned off on me three times, one of those times was while I was on the road waiting at the lights. Since it was unsafe to drive, I drove it back to My Car and had the manager get into the car while I drove it. It turned off twice as I drove around the car park. He said to leave it with them and they'll have a look. I work 2 doors down from the mechanic so I went back to work for about an hour and returned to My Car.
They DID NOT look at the car, they didn't drive it into the shop nor did they test drive it. I know because I can see it from the window at work. The car was in the exact same position as I left it.
When I spoke to the manager he said they couldn't have done anything wrong with the car because all they did was an oil change and that couldn't have damaged the car. He said he spoke to the mechanic who performed the service and the mechanic said that's how the car was before the service. He said maybe having different oil can change the way the car runs.
Instead of trying to figure out what was wrong with the car and how to fix it, they simply said they're not at fault and that the car was like that before the service. If the car was turning off on me before the service, don't you think I would of mentioned it? They had the audacity to blame me after what had happened.
I called my usual mechanic after I spoke with My Car and asked him about the oil change and issues im having, my mechanic said that's bull**** and they're trying to cover their asses.
Luckily, my mechanic was able to fix the issue. They actually took the time to dissect the problem and figure out what was wrong, and found solutions to recitfy it.
My main issue isn't about the car, the car will get fixed, nor is it about the extra time and money I had to spend to get the car running efficiently. My main issue with this situation was the lack of customer care the staff had at this branch and they even had the audacity to say the car was like that before it got serviced.
I can't speak for the other My Car branches, but I would avoid the one in Keilor Downs.

Car had some vibration issues when braking. Car was serviced and control arms and ball joints replaced. Car was still vibrating after this work but at lower speeds.
Took car back in and found some others issues that the store manager dealt with at no further cost.
As always great service

Poor diagnosis
I was charged $80 for a diagnosis of a mechanical groan at my front right wheel. This service centre then provided me with a quote for approximately $5k worth of work involving the replacement of essentially all of the front suspension components.
I took my car to a different local mechanic for a second opinion (free of charge) who was able to resolve the issue (ball joint and lower control arm replacement for approximately $600). No more mechanical groan.
