Last academic year my two boys took English and Math classes only.
Firstly I wasn’t very satisfied with teachers, I was hoping to for them to give more help , every time my son will write email to his teacher asking for additional help in understanding the topic he will receive no response.
Also we were not happy with club classes, we took few but they were not consistent and some were quite useless.
We are taking next year academic classes and really hoping to get more satisfaction, we will try for one term and if the approach remains the same we will consider other alternatives.
Many Thanks
Maya

A spark of comfort in uncertain times
In the midst of the Covid pandemic we were in the process of changing countries. Uncertainty regarding how long this would take, school closure in our base and interim countries and the desire to have some flexibility, drew us to MOS.
From the first contact, MOS were outstanding. The classroom environment was light years ahead of what our 10 year old sons previous brick and mortar school had been able to provide during lockdown. The teachers were fantastic, admin requests and queries were dealt with swiftly and efficiently, and most importantly the Classroom environment and level of instruction was extremely good and our son has thrived under extremely trying conditions.
I would recommend the school to anyone looking for an alternative to physical schools or the rather poor online offerings that a lot of schools out there have

An excellent and caring school
An excellent and caring school. My girls have had a great experience so far, the staff really do take care of the students and parents. Compared to another Online school experience MOS has really given excellent classes, friendly teachers and friendly admin staff. Very happy at MOS and look forward to my girls completing their education with MOS.

Highly Recommend
I have read some of the poor reviews on here about MOS and cannot agree with any of them.
My son started here in November 2020 and I have to say that so far I have been most impressed.
The standard of education is good, the organisation superb and communication top notch. Where else can you have a simple query and have it answered and dealt with in less than 5 minutes?
My son came from mainstream school into Year 10 as a result of bullying and the pandemic causing severe restrictions and disruption to his education. He has taken to it like a duck to water. He is enjoying the lessons; his grades are amazing and he seems to have matured overnight. He is finally able to "go to school" and learn without having the worry of who is going to pick on him next. And learn he does.... they pack more into an hour's lesson than they would have ever done in mainstream school (due to no disruptive behaviour being allowed). If you are thinking about doing this for your child, then please do not hesitate. It was the best decision we ever made.

The worst school ever
I have enrolled my son in this school few months ago. We currently live outside of the UK.
I am opne to home schooling idea so i have taken the risk and put my trust in this school by paying in advance. A week after the enrolment, the school assigned a different teacher that didn't meet the requirements i have been expecting, in other words, she was terrible and her internet was always cutting!
I wrote a formal request the school requesting a new teacher, but i received no response.
After few complaints the school still didn't do anything. They insisted that i should keep the same teacher.
Also i was reminded that i didn't have any rights to the grace period and i couldn't get out money back. " Because i am not living in the UK"
This is the worst school ever! There is no care about kids and teaching, very poor management and governance.
I was ripped off and received 0 care for all the money i paid!

First experience of online school
My daughter has been using this online school platform for a term. I am very satisfied with the teaching and professionalism of the staff. I also would like to say that Emily Booth is a great parent liaison officer and has always answered my emails straight away. I have never used an online schooling system before but my daughter is thriving and her grades are improving. The only negative is a few times a teacher has been off ill and this has not been clarified earlier via email before a lesson starts. I also would like them to maybe consider giving students a questionnaire every term to see their opinions as this would help the staff improve teaching. Also maybe consider a loyalty scheme so the longer you are a student the more discount you gain on fees ( which can be expensive) but overall Thankyou for helping my daughter regain her confidence.

Awful school
Awful school. The way it is run is appalling. Simply a money grabbing scam. Also no online community at all for the kids. All cameras and mics off, no communication between pupils or socialisation which is needed for kids that are home learning, especially now with lockdowns. Don't waste your money: there are many free learning platforms on the internet that will get you better results, also year books to buy and videos on you tube etc. Just wish I had seen and taken notice of all the negative reviews that parents had left before I enrolled my children.

I am so disappointed with this…
I am so disappointed with this 'school'. Have been paying since September 2020. My son has NO reports online, he was supposed to have a Mock some time in January(I am guessing) - was not kept updated, we presume he missed this Mock. Have no idea what his ability is with his A levels. I am currently looking for another online school. Do not waste your money, they are not interested in ensuring your child gets an education. I am so so disappointed.

First term at MOS
My three children (year 3, 5, and 6) completed their first term with MyOnline. We chose MOS because it is important for me that my children have virtual classes to connect with other students. MOS provides not only the virtual classroom, but the flexibility of watching the recorded classes later in case the class was missed or it needs to be reviewed for notes. Most of the teachers have a positive energy and have demonstrated their desire for teaching through engaging classroom discussion or exciting activities. Caroline Moore and Bethany Jamieson are two English teachers that have motivated my children and encouraged them to read, participate, and expand their writing. My children love art with Jennifer Pasley because they like the fun projects and the flexibility the she provides, allowing students to add their own creative touch. Teachers like Jodie Green (math) and Susan Miller (computer science) have spent one-on-one time outside of the classroom assisting my children when they needed help with work. There are some teachers that lack energy; my children have commented that certain classes are boring. However, I do believe the classes overall are productive and kids can easily control classroom technology in order to take away the most from the lesson. We did experience moments when teachers had a weaker internet connection, so when they incorporated videos into the lesson, they did not show clearly, which can disrupt the learning process. I would recommend teachers who are hired are required a certain level of internet speed in order to resolve this issue. Response time from most teachers is also relatively quick, taking on average 24 hours.
One big adjustment coming from a traditional classroom to an online one was the way teachers organise and grade. Each subject has its own webpage on the Canvas website and teachers set up their page how they like. Some are more organised than others. Those that are organised use the designated tabs accordingly. For example, the assignments tab shows new work to be done at the top of the page, and they clearly mark which work has been graded. Other teachers, the more disorganised, don’t utilise the tabs and you may find homework in the modules tab (which is designated for the lessons). This has caused a bit of a headache in regards to organising ourselves and maintaining work. Another issue we encountered several times was that an assignment would have two different due dates. We would submit work on time, but later it would pop up that it was submitted late. The grading system is also slightly confusing with MOS. Some teachers don’t grade any assigned work, while others grade everything. Some grade right away with feedback while others take weeks. Then there are some teachers that grade only certain assignments. Therefore, if a child completes 10 assignments, but only three are graded, the overall average weighs a lot on only three pieces of work when the child in reality worked hard on more assignments. Quick feedback is CRITICAL for kids motivation and learning. They need to know they are being graded so they can improve. Term reports are based on effort, behaviour, and the homework. My oldest child received a low grade for one subject even though he had outstanding marks and comments from his teacher for the homework throughout the term. The teacher explained it was because my son is shy and does not participate as much as the other students. It is my opinion that with an online school system, it is hard for teachers to make connections with students and therefore more challenging to guide students towards success. Had the teacher reached out prior to see if my son needed more help or another way to engage with him, I believe his grade would have been more appropriate and deserving of the student my child is. The teacher does not know my son, and it was easier to mark him low instead of reaching out and working with us and this may be because he only sees my son once per week for one hour. We also did not see any issue until the term report was received because there was no communication from the teacher, only positive remarks regarding the work. The school could improve by setting one standard and teachers operate the same way in regards to grading and organisation.
The MOS clubs are wonderful! Emma Thompson (science club) is dynamic, passionate, and does not tolerate rude distractions. My children also enjoy journalism club.
Callum McGregor, our parent liaison, is always available and professional. He responds to emails in a timely manner and answers questions with diligence and care. He has made me feel heard and that in turn has helped us significantly with our first term. We will be continuing with MOS and think it is a great option for those looking to switch to online.

Terrible
Terrible - poor communication, poor everything - these people are just after your money. A sad state of affairs when it comes to a child's education!

Communication is terrible as a parent I can’t get in touch with the teacher if i have something necessary! Even my child she does not reply to him. Another teacher keeps making mistakes even in quizzes she puts wrong answers! The worst that I have to teach my child every thing again because they don’t teach well!!!!

First feedback
Generally speaking my wife and I are happy with how things have gone so far. The main issues were with the technology and it would have helped if there had been an induction day given over to this. For example children and parents could practice logging in to mock lessons prior to starting proper. My son seems to be doing well so far and he seems to take on the online schooling very well and is starting to take his homework seriously without always being reminded. Lessons seemed to be paced out well through the week. My wife observes that lessons seem to be fast paced and a lot is done in one hour - useful to have the recording. We have had issues with logging in and on a few occasions I have had to jump in and help. One of the reasons for this is that the email address for my son is spelt with and without a dot for Canvas and Zoom. I am not sure how this happened. There are also quite a few passwords to remember. I notice from the attendance record that there have been some recorded absences, although I am not aware of any, this maybe due to logging in issues resulting in a late attendance. One of us is usually around when our son logs in. There are some recommendations I would like to make. Please could the timetable be written in a larger font so that when it is printed out it can be clearly read. Grandma organises the meals around it! Also could there be a suggestion box on the website or where you think appropriate. Generally speaking it seems to be going well, considering that our son has to master using the keyboard to write answers at times. It is still early days and the teachers seem to be all doing well so far. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.

Very good school
Very good school, my son is benefiting from a classroom experience without physically being in class where he used to get easily distracted by others.

Kids seem to enjoy there lessons and like the teachers
Apart from few early IT issues (seemingly MOS side), where my child was waiting to get into the class (even though on time) and subsequently marked as absent :( Everything is done well - communication good and lessons engaging.

Overall satisfactory.
Overall, my experience is fine.
Good points:
- Curriculum is good.
- Teachig content is good.
Down side:
- Number of classes seems few for the curriculum thatt needs coverage.
- Individual attention to pupils is lacking.
- The class timings are problematic for international pupils.
- The avenues for pupils' social interaction is lacking.
