Great Experience with Gabe!
Managing retirement plans is inherently complex, and our team recently faced an internal audit that led to a new focus on monitoring our plan year-end 5500 count. For three months, I had the pleasure of working closely with Gabe Ward, CS Specialist at Ubiquity Retirement Services, and his support was an incredible relief. I can't recommend him highly enough.
Gabe maintained regular communication with me as updates became available and ensured that we stayed on track. The project involved three major efforts: initiating force-outs, managing under-$30 de minimis amounts, and addressing all related actions to bring our 5500 count below the audit threshold. Gabe listened effectively, documented case notes meticulously, and collaborated effectively with the internal team. His professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex plan actions were critical to our success.
Thanks to Gabe's partnership, we now have a proactive approach to monitoring the count and managing our plan. Don't use this company for your 401k
I strongly advise any small business considering myubiquity for their 401k to run the other way.
They lied from the start. The salesperson told me they integrated with my payroll company so contributions would be automatic. They did not. For a year I had to manually make all my employees contributions, wasting a bunch of my time.
Finally after a year they said they'd built payroll integration. But it was so buggy it was a nightmare. Each pay period they contributed incorrect amounts for each employee. My employees were understandably upset. Then when I asked them to correct the mistakes, they wanted to charge me a fee for each change!
What made it even harder is they don't respond to their emails. Usually I'd have to email a few times, chat, and call before getting an answer to anything.
The icing on the cake is when I finally decided to take my business elsewhere they have put up as many roadblocks as possible and charge me as many fees as possible. They charge a $1000 termination fee and despite the fact that I am now using another 401k provider they are continuing to charge my credit card $529 per quarter.
I also run a business, and if I make a mistake I do everything I can to make it right by my customer. Their business model seems to trap you and grab as much money as they can from you before you run for the hills.

Non-existent Customer Service
The customer service at Ubiquity is the worst (not existent) I have ever experience from any banking, wealth management, or investment institution that I have EVER experienced.
I would even be happy if I got a FUNCTIONAL AI chatbot, but alas the online chat has 5 options to select and every option results in the following response: "One of our support agents will be happy to assist you with that. One moment please." However, that moment never happens, even after 3 days of having the chat window open. A working IA chat would be 10,000% better than waiting in excess of 8 days to be contacted by a human being... if you are lucky enough to be contacted back at all.
If I were not locked into this by my employer plan, I would find a different company. And if I were an employer looking for someone to handle employee 401K, I would recommend you not discourage and demoralize your employees by selecting this company.

The Help Desk representative, Ed, was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful in trying to help me with the RMD process. I was very lucky to have him guide me to the correct forms!!! Job well done and he deserves to be Employee of the Month!
