We have removed our previous two good reviews as the panels were installed 5/11/24 and fully paid for that evening, however 6months on despite numerous phone calls we have still not received all the documentation to fulfil their side of the contract and are still unable to export all the surplus energy we have been making during this beautiful weather. The stress of all this is making me poorly and we can no longer recommend this company.
UPDATE - 28/05/25 We have spent the day on and off the phone with an employee we haven’t spoken to before Rob Wood from Customer Services. Rob has been brilliant in trying to answer our questions, sending emails and providing documentation, our application to Octopus Energy to export is now finally being processed and we have received documentations we now need to examine. If it were just Rob we were reviewing we would certainly give him 5 stars for his thoroughness, promptness, manor and patience. However as a company we still have reservations and concerns, as yet the contract we paid in full for back in November has not been fulfilled.

My mother had solar panels installed by Nationwide Renewables in October 2024, and it’s been nothing but stress and red tape ever since. Eight months on, we still have not received key legal documents required for the system to be considered compliant, including:
No Electrical Installation Certificate
No Building Regulations Compliance Certificate
No confirmation of G98/G99 grid notification
No clear system commissioning documentation
No Invoice showing ownership of the panels.
We were told at the time of sale that the system would qualify for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), and they pushed us toward a personal loan via M&S Bank, arranged during the sales visit. However, we have now learned that Nationwide Renewables is not MCS-certified, and more worryingly, we are not eligible for SEG payments unless we pay Octopus Energy a £250 application fee, just to try, with no guarantee, to get accepted through their non-MCS pathway. This is how NR claim they can get round the lack of MCS certification.
Octopus requires a Flexi-Orb certificate to avoid this fee, but again, Nationwide Renewables has failed to provide one. If Octopus rejects the application, we lose £100 of that fee. Flexi-orb have confirmed that nationwide renewables are not a member of their scheme even though they give out the leaflet in their sales pack.
Nationwide Renewables continues to deflect and delay. Eight months is more than enough time to provide basic compliance documents. Without these, the system cannot be officially registered, we cannot be paid for exported electricity, and we may face problems when selling the property in future.
This company sells you a system that looks cheaper by cutting regulatory corners, but the reality is that you're left with no protection, no guarantees, and hidden costs down the line.
We now have a very expensive but useless addition to the roof!
If you are considering solar, avoid this company at all costs. Pay a bit more for a properly certified MCS installer! your future self will thank you.
UPDATE: I have been asked to verify that this review is genuine and my mother who was the person that booked NR service is being constantly badgered to get this review removed. They are offering to supply the requested paperwork in return. I don’t know why they don’t just send all the relevant paperwork and authorisations in the first place and avoid all of these problems. Unless of course they can’t do that?

Nationwide, thanks to Elliot have resurrected my Wi-Fi Dongle and so we can now admire the daily activity of a fully working installation, I'm sure it has worked since the dongle lost power in November but now we can see the activity to prove it.

Sales person Georgi was really helpful in explaining the system and calculating our energy requirements. Priya was always on hand to manage the entire project and after sales care. In hindsight we should've gone with a battery system for maximum benefit but will add the battery pack when our budget allows. Overall very pleased with the installation and service

After 14 months of trying to get the necessary certificates for the solar panels so that we can set up a account to sell the excess power generated , a new problem solver had it all done and sent within a few days of first contacting him Elliot was very patient and understanding of our problems He has kept in touch with us to see if things are still going well I've bèn most impressed at the speed of which he has sorted everything for us

Atlast i will receive my MCS Certificate. A long wait but I’m sure selling back to the Grid will make up for lost time.

Elliot was so very helpful from Leeds branch

All the people I encountered were very polite friendly and respectful from the salesman Beth who sorted all the work out to the fitters, would recommend the company if anyone is looking to have solar energy.

last year got solar panels from this company. The guy who came around was very knowledgeable and very helpful and you could tell he knew his stuff. I went with solar only no battery at the time. The panels alone which I am still shocked about to this day have reduced by bills down to virtually nothing. Very happy with the performance and technology used. Good value for money with what you get.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM
They made me pay £750 deposit for a solar panel. When I changed my mind, they refused to refund the money, and now they have taken me to court demanding almost £5000 for not going ahead with the contract. Meanwhile, they have not supplied any.

Installed a system for my father in 2023. During a storm in August 2024, 4 solar panels were blown off the roof, damaging the house roof and a car before landing on the driveway.
It turns of none of the panels were even fixed to the roof, just held down with breeze blocks. I mean. WOW!
Its a good job nobody was on the driveway at the time, otherwise this could have been very bad indeed.
The remaining panels have now been moved and fixed to another part of the roof, but after 3 months we are still waiting for panels replacements plus repairs to other damage caused. No contact from the company at all.
Multiple emails, voicemail and contacts via the web page. No call back.
Bad business practice doesn't even come close.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Update 6/8/25. Still dealing with this and still potentially thousands out of pocket. Yes they have replaced panels, but this was 7 months of chasing to get there. We still have damage to house and vehicles and more was caused when the panels were moved and fixed on a different part of the roof.
Still no documentation to register for an export account and refusal to co-operate. My father hasn't seen a penny in export since the system was installed 2 years ago. Northern Powergrid confirmed the registration was not done correctly and they are still waiting for the correct paperwork.
No electrical or building certificates either.
I have also noticed today that they have changed the reply to this post in June, 4 months after I posted it.
We have tried to get back in touch, but phone never gets answered and emails have been getting ignored for months now.
These are all facts.

Wrote a review that nationwide renewables reported and had removed due to ‘containing potential defamatory content’. The content was 100% honest, and detailed my terrible experience, along with them asking me to sign a contract to receive a £40 refund if I was to swap my 1 star review for a 5 star review, which I refused as a 5 star review would be a total lie. Felt quite dirty of them to bribe me into lying, and insulting that they think my integrity can be bought for £40. Now I’m annoyed that Trustpilot has sided with them and isn’t letting my honest experience be viewed by other potential customers.

Kaiser is the man.
My honest opinion is, it has been very stressful at times. BUT.....once I spoke to Kaiser, all that changed!!
He has been amazing! I am now up and running, and looking forward to my lower bills. Kaiser is everything you want, from customer service! Thank you Kaiser.
Also the fitting team, were great too. Very friendly and did the job great! Thank you.

My solar assessor was Priya and she was fantastic she explained in great detail the product and how it worked and would benifit me with a breakdown of potential savings, the product being a battery to compliment my solar system I already had. Priya did not over sell or pressurised, she also helped calm me from the upset I had from a phone call I had had earlier with one of the company reps who insisted if i cancelled the arranged visit with Priya I would be charged a cancelation fee even though I was never told about a cancelation fee at time of booking the appointment. I was cancellng due to being ill, so I had said fine let her come but I will not purchase any product from your company. and that i would put in a complaint. Priya assisted me in putting in a complaint about the person and due to her professional manner I decided I would go for the product and not cut off my nose to spit my face. The product has been installed and working fine, so far so good and with the app I can see how it is doing.

I have to say I was very confused with solar so took my time searching what was available. After meeting a few companies I was no closer to a decision. Nationwide renewables called me and had a good chat so I invited them to look. Without a doubt I felt they covered all my concerns and had a good look into what would suit me best.
I started to communicate with Danielle over the phone in both calls and email. Safe to say she not only sealed the deal with all her help but also improved on the deal I agreed.
Very happy with nationwide and even happier with Danielle in my corner 👍
After an initially difficult start, Susie at Nationwide Renewables couldn’t have been more helpful or proactive in resolving our problems. We’re saving a huge amount on our Electricity bills - an excellent investment
