I searched the NSH find a dentist website. The list shows 50 dentists between 0.3 miles and 16.9 miles NONE of these are taking new NHS patients. Very time consuming phone calls and no positive response. Why does the NHS have such a poor website leading the public up the garden path.

I have tried all 14 dental practices within the Yeovil area, none of which are taking NHS patients. I have recently paid £750 for a check up and composite front tooth. It fell off 6 months later and I paid a further £80.
I am 76 years old, paid my taxes and cannot get the service I was promised. I understand it was Tony Blair's Labour government it 2006 that made sweeping changes to NHS Dentists pay and now 17 years later no dentist wants to work for NHS.

Today 18/03/2022 I had the worse experience of my life at a NHS Dental practice - the name of this practice was MAXIDENT Clinic 161 Bromley Road, London SE6 2NZ - this all started when I broke my tooth this morning and needed an emergency appointment, I went through NHS111 and they were very helpful in finding me a dental practice very quickly.
However when attending this practice I noticed a very contemptible attitude coming from the staff even before seeing the dentist.
When finally getting to see the dentist he started off our meeting in a rude and aggressive manner for the signing of a form before he would give any treatment.
As I had to point out his attitude and his obvious prejudice, he left the room to make some kind of report to his practice manager.
On his return he stated that he will try and treat me but if there was any communication problems he would ask me to leave the practice. I pointed out that I did not have any communication issue, I just do not take kindly to rude and unprofessional behaviour.
At this point I was asked to leave the surgery, he refused to treat me stating that I was rude, when I asked him to explain to me how I was rude he could not articulate anything to defend what he said.
I left the practice as requested, I have since put in a complaint to the NHS and commissioners of the health industry that moderate these practices, I have also stated that they need to do an investigation into this and that if I am not satisfied with the feedback they give me, I will take it to the ombudsman.
I absolutely refuse to be treated in such a disgraceful and condescending manner by any industry in this country, even if the gentleman had an issue with me he should have afforded me the respect that my age commands and correct customer service.
