Has perks but needed but
Enjoying the R3 so far. I do wish it had a faster connection. I get 1400 download240 upload speeds with xfinity now using r3 I get 900 download 240 upload. Should I be losing that much speed? Why not put faster port on R3? Seems to limited. Otherwise it’s nice to find servers etc.

Do not buy it... you will be a Beta tester for a poor quality product. nothing works as pormissed - Netduma R3 Router
I recently purchased the Netduma R3 router, and it has been an absolute disaster from the start. I've been a loyal Netduma customer, having owned previous models, but the R3 has shattered any positive expectations I had for the brand.
Let's start with the fundamental issues. The product was advertised with a hybrid VPN feature, which turned out to be nothing more than an illusion. Despite reassurances that the router was undergoing firmware updates, it has become evident that it was prematurely released with features still in the development phase. I essentially paid a premium to be a beta tester for Netduma's unfinished product.
The GUI software is a labyrinth of dysfunctionality. Key aspects do not work as described, and promises made during the purchase have proven to be empty. The hybrid VPN, a major selling point, is non-existent, leaving me to wonder if the advertising was a deliberate attempt to mislead customers.
As someone who has patiently supported Netduma through various product releases, the R3 has left me utterly disappointed. The customer service response to my concerns has been dismissive, stating that I've gone beyond the return policy period. Apparently, being a loyal customer doesn't warrant any consideration for the defective product they've sold.
The 14-day return policy seems more like a trap than a guarantee of customer satisfaction. If you're considering purchasing the Netduma R3, I strongly advise against it. Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and the feeling of being scammed. This product is not ready for release, and Netduma's handling of the situation reflects poorly on their commitment to customer loyalty.
In summary, the Netduma R3 router has been a nightmare of epic proportions. I regret every penny spent on this product and would caution anyone against making the same mistake. It's a shame to see a once-reliable brand fall so far from grace.
Additionally, considering the open-source nature of its base product (OpenWrt) and features like Geo Filter being essentially a glorified BanIP, among other aspects such as QoS and firewall rules, it's worth noting that while NetDuma simplifies these features in their graphic user interface, fundamentally, it's a fancy OpenWrt router. NetDuma should remember its origins and avoid getting too big-headed, believing its own hype and engaging in false advertising.

Netduma software garbage.
I have the XR500 and it's garbage.
The geolocate rarely works. iIt makes absolutely no difference between a game using netduma and one hooked directly to the internet.
People that "claim" the product works well on their forums also have topics where they have nothing but issues with it.
The "claim" is that it works well when it's set up, but even walking through what the developers say to do makes no difference.
Half the time it doesn't work, and the other half when it's "workkng" the games are the same had you not used it.
They also have hidden issues that do unexpected things to hinder your performance. I had an issue where my NAT suddenly went to strict. It was a glitch that I finally found how to correct it on a random page.
The geolocate might work one time, then it restricts your access to the internet and won't find any games for no obvious reason.
I made a post about geolocate and said in the opening post that 1) it wasn't working at all either by the location (the circle) or by latency, 2) and said I was on the Xbox. I explained that the geolocate was often finding games well outside my area.
I received a reply that I didn't give enough information and a question if I meant that the game was only finding games outside the geolocate.
I was extremely clear about the issue. But apparently something not workkng at all isn't enough information. They also claimed that I wasn't finding games because it was an old game and didn't have many servers.
First, the game was strictly peer to peer, and I was finding 40 plus games, it just wasn't restricting the area as geolocate should.
My "help" told me to do things one way if I was on a PC (which I clearly said I was on Xbox) OR to set it to Playstation. Which makes no sense.
At least half the features never seem to work or aren't for your specific router, though it's not told to you.
Speed test? Doesn't work.
Ping test? Doesn't work.
QoS? Works fine.
Geolocate? Rarely works.
The app? Works half the time.
Game optinzerr? Doesn't work and doesn't include CoD.
Finding servers? Rarely works.
Avoid this garbage product.

Terrible don’t bother
Terrible, first I paid for next day and it took 3 days. Then I got it home and it was already open. It looked like a return. I emailed Fraser and got nothing back. I only bought it for COD and the ping cod servers doesn’t work, it’s a complete mess I want a refund

Does exactly what it says on the tin - worth every penny
Does exactly what it says on the tin, geo-filters servers and stops SBMM trying to put you in a lobby with a high ping... QOS works brilliantly, i have owned this for 2 years and as long as you keep the Firmware up-to date its a brilliant piece of kit - Wifi is strong throughout my house... just remember to factory reset it before you update the firmware, Forum support is fast and not judgmental

Crystal clear planned obsolesence with older hardware
I have the old router and yes I know it is old but I mean come on; certain parts of the UI failing to load forcing a reboot, WiFi crashes constantly, entire system can crash when attempting to change (or save) a setting in the UI, random error messages when trying to configure something, traffic controller blocking devices outside the designated time frames Absolute awful! I would say the only real advantage is being able to connect to NA CoD servers from UK using the Geofilter (essentially replacing a VPN), otherwise a PfSense would be your best friend here!
Really isn't gonna be long until I invest in a new router that doesn't run 'DumaOS'
Oh and another thing is that I do not get a confirmation email when trying to sign up to an account (tried 2 emails) making it impossible to speak to someone over. Absolute joke!

Don't buy it
Don't buy it. It's complete and utter grabage.
It delivers non of the promises, the UI (while looking nice a first glance) is useless trash, they have clearly just put stuff in for the sake of putting stuff in with no thought as to have the users will actually use it
Wifi is the worst you'll ever experience and it's bugs out constantly

Don't waste your money.
Well for starters your router is AWESOME...until it's not. After I finally received it...well past the expected ship date I originally was given it worked great. It does everything it advertises, but after only a few months the dumaos was hit or miss if it would even work that day. A little while after that the wifi began to need reset daily because it would have no internet even though hardwired was good. A couple weeks after that and the wifi had failed to even show up. One day i would have 5g the next i would have 2.4g seemed to never have both at the same time. Multiple factory resets over the course of the few month I had it and firmware was kept up to date...not that there was any updates after the 1st month. Wifi completely failed so I bit the bullet and moved back to a well know brand that hasn't skipped a beat.. It may have cost me more but at least I know I can count on it working. Do yourself a favor, buy something else, plenty of other routers that have the same capabilities from brands you can trust.

Doesn’t work, no support, too short of return policy. Shady business
Ton of people have reported their Netduma router dropping internet connectivity. They hide posts, delete forum threads, and worst of all…no firmware updates to fix it after a year. These routers are absolute trash pumped up advertising but backed up by nothing but a lack of professionalism, skill, and quality. Plain and simple, the router does not work. 15 minutes from the time I turn it on until it drops internet…100% of the time. How does netduma see it? It’s my problem now. That’s how they see it. Don’t give them you’re money. In fact, people should start a class action lawsuit for them selling a router that doesn’t route while also not supporting it and having a return period so short that most people don’t have time to hook it up, test it, and get it sent back in time.

NETDUMA R2, more like "NotDuma R2"
So got this back in August because of the advertisement that you can control your ping and get with better latency. This was somewhat true, they have a neat feature, the latency was controlled by the geo filter, so you can definitely set what server you connect to, supposedly the QoS service was used to lower your ping, but I saw no change from using it to not using it.
Since I've gotten this router I've had nothing but issues, from the shoddy firmware, constant disconnects, my media server pc always has issues, constantly have to reboot the router every day. Wireless printers don't like it, continual wifi network communications between various devices is inconsistent.
My ISP speeds are 1Gig down and 100 up without the router, with it, fully connected with new, tested Cat6e cables it varies between 500 and 700. No amount of fiddling changes this.
I do NOT recommend this gimmicky router, it mostly does what it says it specializes in, but the basic features you expect from a router fall by the wayside.

Don't be conned into this product
As other reviews around the web mention, this product lacks a professional team and solid updates. When a product is brand new and your user base, overwhelmingly reports issues you release a hotfix. However, this "company" has done anything but that. Closing threads on their support forums asking for info on updates and playing their customer base off.
I've personally experienced issues with the signal dropping, slow internet speeds, and glitches within their UI that often force me to reboot this router every other day.
Despite all the issues, the developers have shown they are tone deaf to the community and would rather continue promoting a garbage router than actually fixing the issues within their firmware. Nothing but delays, missed deadlines, and poor customer experience.
If you're looking to get the Netduma R2, consider literally anything else first. Make sure it's not related to Netduma or the DumaOS. The worst thing about it was I thought they were going to fix these issues so I missed the return period, but days have turned to weeks and months with no sight of improvements. Just stay away!

Lack of support and updates
Bought the new R2 router with the anticipation it was going to be a groundbreaking new router in the world of gaming. Instead it fails to function much better than a router you'd be freely provided by your ISP.
Wifi speeds are slow, the signal will occasionally stop broadcasting, the Adblock disable button does not work on the device level, and I find myself rebooting it every other day if not every day.
There is limited support offered (only via forums) so it's difficult to get assistance in a timely manner. The company is a ragtag team of developers who've been promising firmware updates for weeks, but have failed to deliver on any of those promises.
In a world where we're shifting to working from home and internet is becoming a forefront of not only gaming, but business, I have to say I'm highly disappointed in this company and would urge anyone considering to reconsider and look elsewhere. At this point still waiting for the never coming firmware update.. Oh well. Netgear should drop them as a partner.
