I purchased a Shearwater through New and Used Boat Company in December 2023. The boat was built by Collingwood Boat Builders in Liverpool.

I saw the boat through the whole build process which was a very special experience.

New and Used Boat Company were fantastic, providing regular updates throughout the build and nothing was top much trouble.

Over the last year New and Used Boat Company have been on hand to answer any questions I've had and they are always happy to help.

I highly recommend you contact New and Used Boat Company if you are interested in buying a boat.

WHAT A BRILLIANT LOT OF LADS! The way I have been treated by your chaps at Willington has been so good! They sold my boat for me without any problems ,and I couldn’t have wished her to be sold to a nicer fellow boater (he loves my old boat) . Also I am so happy with the 60’ footer that they sold to me. Just to let the lads know, I’ve traveled in the last 6 months many many miles and had so many compliments on the boat. Thank you one and all at the New and Used Boat Company. 👍

Be very careful if you are buying a boat through this company, make sure you have all your paperwork verified by someone else other than their representative. And whatever you do don't let them tell you to use their engineers to commission your boat because you will regret it . I purchased a boat from them from a boat builder called Collingwood they both lied repeatedly about finishing times the level of craftsmanship on my boat was poor I would say s••t but the folks at trust pilot won't like it but then the real fun begins their engineer done such an appalling job that two years later I am still trying to put it right so please don't make the same mistakes that I made

What a bunch of lying jokers and fraudsters. Ever since I put pen to paper and signed with this company they have done nothing unless you stand on their heels and pester them. Just before my warranty ran out I had an issue with my starter battery, only finding out that there was an issue with the wiring causing a fuse to blow . According to the after sales people it wasn't a warranty issue but after their engineer visited I had even more trouble, so I used a different engineer from another company who sorted the problem out but informed me that the boat had been left in a very bad way . Since then I haven't heard anything from new and used , apart from their engineer phoning my sister and being rude to her . Do not use this company when purchasing something you can get direct from the manufacturer and I am still waiting for the original snagging list promised to me by them every time I ring up

They sold us an excellent boat. Sales staff (Sam) were very professional, patient and understanding. After sales need an occasional nudge but do a very good job when they arrive.

Having decided to buy our first narrowboat (after hiring for many years) we visited Hanbury marina and met Sam. Her extensive professional advice was fantastic and throughout the process Sam was at the end of the phone to answer all our queries. Although we experienced a slight delay due to Covid we were updated all along. It was fantastic to see photos of the build in Poland.
We now have a perfect boat, no decision regrets, exactly as we want it to be and the envy of other boating friends.
A thoroughly great experience!

Our experience with New & used was exceptional from start to finish with Sam & Chris. Our every need was tendered from the team, also a very smooth hand over with the boat which was a new abode.

After 9 years of sailing our narrowboat and being based at Mercia Marina New and Used were our first choice when it came to the hard decision to sell. They were efficient and professional, although a tad expensive (as the boat sold within a couple of hours of being displayed on their berth). All the financial transactions went through without any problems and completed without any hitches. If you want a trouble-free sale of your boat and a professional listing New and Used are the Company to go for. Thanks to you all.

Bob made us feel so welcome when we called in on the off chance to view some boats we saw a a 58 foot semi trad it was due to go on the market that night as soon as we saw it it was the boat for us. when we were in the office we spoke to Glyn who answered all our questions as we were newbies to boating. When we did collect the keys to our boat Glyn us move to our mooring point on mercia marina and explained everything to us. Thanks again to Glyn and bob, any time we speak to any of new and used boats staff they are always willing to help and offer advice

I purchased a new Aqualine Canterbury 70 foot Widebeam from the New & Used Boat Company in Droitwich.
I had a truly excellent experience !!
From the very start the service I received from Noel and Sam was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they responded immediately to all of my requests and kept me informed every step of the way.
As always with boats there are some teething problems, but Ian has been excellent in resolving these issues for me.
I absolutely love the boat and I would not hesitate to recommend The New & Used Boat Company

Bought my barge off them recently and the service was 2nd to none including the after service. Plus very knowledgeable and friendly staff

We purchased our Collingwood Widebeam through N&U boats in 2020, assuming that having a broker would ensure what you would expect from a good 'project manager'. We are extremely happy with our Collingwood 70' x 12'3" WB BUT this is down to the fact that we visited the build almost weekly, picked up on and discussed any potential issues, errors or amendments with the builders (these are/can be a normal part of any build, be it a boat or a house, but were missed by New & Used and would have been problematic further down the line if not picked up on by ourselves). Some examples:
- incorrect RAL colour used on the gunnel - NOT noticed by N&U even though clearly specified in the details listed by them.
- the kitchen unit option that N&U gave us and that we subsequently chose was then changed as, apparently, they had given us an option that was too expensive for them! In my humble opinion, their mistake should have been honoured.
- they tried to fit a substandard floor that we spotted and rectified, again due to us visiting and checking.

As mentioned, our Collingwood build is great but we still have on-going outstanding issues with some paint work (2.5 years down the line) and all follow-up 'snagging' had to be chased, chased and chased again by ourselves with the constant excuse that they were really busy. Certainly not what you expect when you pay for a broker and have a warranty.
Once they have your money, their customer service becomes very poor. Our experience since then has shown that we are not alone in having similar customer service issues.

Our advice - we wouldn't recommend New & Used Boats to anyone. In spite of some of the negativity in forums re Collingwoods, we are extremely happy with our boat but much of the success was down to our own project management (checking and visiting).

Was in the process of purchasing a boat from the seller directly, this company would not release the seller from a contract thus ripping me off some £5000 + in commission fees for doing nothing!! Absolute rip off merchants !! Try to avoid at all costs and be careful if your thinking of listing a boat via them !

Myself and my partner decided on getting a canal boat we shopped around and we found a company called New and use Boat which is in Droitwich we went along the staff there was so helpful we chose our boat we chose the colours we chose the furniture inside everything they kept us up-to-date on the progress of the boat from the beginning to the to the end we also went to Liverpool to go and have a look at the boat where Chris Hill the manager of New and used showed us around the boat which we was very happy with Noel Cleary of the new and used would keep us informed on a weekly basis they even told us the time and the date that the boat would be delivered from Liverpool to Droitwich to have it put into the water which was absolutely out of this world what an experience never to be missed I would highly recommend anybody thinking of getting a canal boat new or used to use new and used boats Droitwich
