Argos Pay customer here.
I've just had £48.48 of interest added to my 'normal' card balance which was only at £51.48.
How is this allowed?
I paid a substantial amount to Argos card this month as I want to get my balance down as soon as possible. BUT there was no choice to pay off my BNPL plan which ends tomorrow.
So I'll also incur interest on this plan for not paying it off in time.
This is absolutely scandalous!!
I am sure this is outside the original agreement I had with Argos. I will be looking into this.
Once my balance is paid (which will take longer now due to all the interest charges) I will not be coming back.

Recently moved to Argos Pay. The app is terrible and can steal your money. It asked for more payment than you actually should.
1. It didn’t show correct balance when you have bonus points applied for discounts.
2. It wrongly lists cancelled purchases/plans which means you will pay for what you didn’t buy.
3. It didn’t list ending dates for plans, which means it’s predatory and you have to be careful. Because they have very high APR.
I suggest everyone to check your balance is correct. I’m still waiting for a resolution for wrongly showing cancelled purchases otherwise it will keep asking payment.
I’ll clear my balance and close my account afterwards.

Don't deserve a one star really what a awful company Argos has totally messed there brand name with this company I been a Argos card holder for years never i had any issues the information we as customers were given about take over we were all misled I was never informed that our BNPL would become void all your plans now put together and under one balance so today I went to pay one of my plans a tv I purchased got it in March 26 on 6 months easy fits in my budget I pay it over the time I have £20 here or £15 there its easier to manage i needed another item so got another plan on BNPL it was always easy to use so today went to pay but it would not allow it only allowed to pay of my Balance total I asked how you know what plan it off I was told we dont it comes of the plan that finishes 1st then it pays of the next one So this is my argument if I take the 6 months to pay an item off 1st then I start paying the other one well the other one BNPL will actually be up and should incur interest so I asked if call was recorded and asked the male advisor to confirm what he just stated and that was there be no interest as I have to pay the plan finishing 1st before I start paying the tv I asked again and I said but the 6 months tv will be up he said it makes no odds its ludicrous and misleading its an awful change I need to finish it now so i can close my account I have opened a creation account today as needed a new dryer 1st time I refused to use Argos my wife been with Argos longer than me she is closing her account also I put this out there I recon a huge loss in card holders in next 12 months 100 % guaranteed 😀
UPDATE today 11/05/2026
I received there letter today with there response exactly what I thought it be denied can anyone who have now gone with Newday on there Argos card please tell if they informed us that it would all be one balance and BNPL would change on how its repaid as you can no longer pay off the plan you want when the change was happening it was never stated any off this would happen in any correspondence they sent prior to changeover it only said there is nothing to worry about and nothing changes i also now know no one else informed of these changes

I've been a customer for over 10 years, and I've always paid my card on time. I think customers like me should have lower interest rates, making life easier for good customers!

Just registered my new Argos Pay acount and trying to pay the last of my Buy Now Pay Later transferred over from my Argos Card account. There's no option on the new website to pay it so tried the online chat and just got a bot. Gave them a call and the agent had no idea and kept putting me on hold to ask her manager what to do. Was advised to not pay it on the website because it would go on my normal balance and was told to pay the BNPL after the expiry date. Asked if I could just pay it over the phone and they said no. Was worried that if I pay it late I would be charged interest so asked for conformation by email that if I pay the BNPL late I would not be charged interest as that was what I was advised and was cut off immedietly. Seems like New Day is trying to scam people in to paying more money than they need to. All I want to do is pay the remaining balance of the BNPL so I do not get charged backdated interest.

I love my Aqua Credit Card. It's pain free to apply and the customer service is faultless. I particularly like the fact that they don't just keep upping your credit limit, which can be tempting for some people to overspend unnecessarily, you're in control and can accept or decline any upgrades yourself. It's a brilliant way to build your credit score as well, which is what it's helped me to do. Very happy customer right here!

Love my Aqua card , very happy with the balance & money transfer offers & fees which I have now taken advantage of a few times. Receive regular credit limit increases for making regular payments & keeping me account in order. App very easy to use , would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Really pleased with Aqua...It was one of a few credit cards I took out to help get my credit score back up. And Aqua has been one of the best . Not only offering me a decent amount to start off with, but also offered me a good leap of increased credit limit once I had been with them and been paying off every month and also paying extra when I could. And they have offered me a decent increase,I think the first was £1,000 and the most recent was £2,000 increase. So really pleased with them and there leaning ability along with helping improve your credit score. Where Oceon and post office I've had nearly two years now and they have been awful, still only £250.00 with Ocean and post office started at £250.00 and have only put it up once and only to £450.00 🤔🫣 doesnt make sense as my credit score is really good and been in the excellent range too for awhile . So I definitely recommend Aqua credit card and Vanqis have been really good also .

I was recently scammed and part of the money spent was using my aqua credit card .. I also used my current account debit card and a MBNA credit card .. after many hours on the phone lloyds returned my money too me even the debit card amount and after speaking with the aqua fraud team who said we see this everyday it’s a very common type of scam please don’t be upset as I was quite emotional I had let it happen the lady told me not too worry they see it every day and she can almost guarantee me the money would be returned too me .. I got a text five days later telling me I made the payments how’s my bad luck and you won’t get any of your money back…and then closed the case so I couldn’t even argue my side !! Disgusting and as soon as I can pay the card off I will be putting it in the bin and never using them again .. disgusting service

Customers service not that great - was trasnfered to the wrong department 4 times in succession. Also whoever coded there offer page should be shot as the calculations for transfers are totally inaccurate and have not been resolved despite raising this 5 times now over the last 18 months

I have never had a problem with Aqua, and when I have needed customer service it has been excellent!
The app is easy to use and helps knowing I can check the balance and purchases at any time

I tried to contact to speak about an issue with their new Argos pay- 30 mins on phone - with send around in circles with their answering system unable to speak to someone- chat similar experience hanging on and no agent - extremely poor experience for someone new to this company- already missing the easy of the Argos system.
