Received a refurbished Pixel with bootloader unlocked. That means every time you power on the phone it will warn that it is not secure and you probably shouldn't use it. And that potentially the Android software on there is not genuine or has been tampered with.
Hardly something you can give to someone as the gift it was intended to be!
Given that it's unlikely to have been an attempt to distribute malware, this is presumably a result of whoever re-flashed the phone to a "clean" state didn't bother to do the job properly.
Hard to believe there is any quality control check done - couldn't miss something so obvious that shouts at you as soon as you turn the phone on.

I'm not a technical expert but I know enough that I was able - after a couple of hours' research - to re-flash the phone again myself with the official Android operating system AND lock the bootloader afterwards.

I imagine few customers would know how to handle this problem and would have had to return the phone.

Even though I've got it into a usable - and secure - state given the lack of quality control I'm now on tenterhooks to see whether the phone will actually work reliably after it's given as a gift.

Got a higher spec phone for less money and it arrived next day. Transferred old phone data and apps to new and it worked.

First time purchase. Delivered next day. No hassle. Definitely recommend and definitely use again when needed.

This is the second phone I've purchased from next day mobiles.Phone was in great condition, not a single mark on the screen, only a few tiny marks on the back of the phone. It looked almost new. Both phones delivered quickly and well packaged. Would highly recommend next day mobiles

My wife urgently needed to replace her failing mobile phone and found one on the Next Day Mobiles website. We ordered it around lunchtime on Thursday and it arrived within 24 hours, meaning that she was up and running by tea-time.

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S10 specified as 'good condition and it's pretty much perfect, everything works well on it so far. Much cheaper comparatively to Envirophone and giffgaff

The Galaxy S6 was easy to order and delivered quickly. I cannot fault the service or item received. It is now in daily use

When I ordered my pixel 4xl from next day mobiles, it was incredibly quick to arrive (next day as the name suggests) and it came well packaged in absolutely immaculate condition. The phone was as good as described and worked perfectly with the battery life still strong and the phone running as expected overall.

Indeed if you want a great phone for a discounted compared to retail, 2nd hand is definitely the way forward. And this company definitely gives you the piece of mind to know that the phone you receive will be refurbished to a condition that you wouldn't even notice it had been used by someone else.

I must also note the great customer service because I bought the phone over 7 months ago and recently the nfc chip has been playing up and the battery may have become swollen... This was not my fault and not the fault of next day mobiles' refurbishment. But they sent me a label for free to return it and within 2 days they sent me a full, no questions asked refund, in order to get myself a new phone.
