If I could rate 0 stars I would. Carol is an absolute joke, ‘the complaints manager’ is constantly on the phone and she is the only one that deals with complaints. Not only did she not call us back, we then called her after a week to chase up our complaint and we were expecting it to be at least dealt with in a professional manner as they state on their website not to mention ‘fast paced’ what a joke. However, all we received was rudeness, she kept shouting and interrupting when we were trying to calmly explain the situation. Then said ‘you will not be getting a refund I’m closing the case, goodbye.’ And hung up. I’ve read she tends to throw her toys out of the pram quite often and do this. Do not use this company, I rarely write reviews but I feel it’s my duty having had this awful company’s service to tell others not to bother. The stairs were not cleaned, our inspector and landlord also said they were not happy with the condition of the carpets as they were not to a high standard. Please don’t ignore the bad reviews on here. I have no good things to say about this scam of a company. I can’t believe their customer service never in all my life have I been spoken to as a customer like that it’s disgraceful. They also said that they wanted to rectify the situation however when we tried to contact them we couldn’t get through, so then when our tenancy ended and because the cleaning quality was so bad our estate agent didn’t want them returning to the property to clean it, hence asking for a partial refund but they didn’t listen and flat out refused. Perhaps if they were contactable or picked up the phone or called us back before we left the property the issues could have been resolved, then they had the cheek to say that we didn’t give them time to rectify! No straight answers, cowboy business.

Terrible. Better off not having them cleaned

I asked for No.1 carpet cleaners to come and clean my carpets. After they had done their work the carpet on the top floor was left with stains on it that looked like fluid had been left to leak onto it. I contacted them about this, sent pictures as requested. Correspondence has been terrible. the technician, who they assure me is outstanding, has recently left and wouldn't return. They said they would not send anyone out or offer any refund. I have contacted them at least three times and asked for a conversation with a customer representative. I have received emails back telling me it is the underlay that must have 'leaked through'. The most recent one, when I wanted to know if my complaint could go no further, the person on the phone wouldn't give a straight answer and put the phone down when I tried to establish exactly what would happen next and if my complaint was considered 'dealt with'. Would not use again.

I’m a carer for a lady 97 years old.

I’m a carer for a lady 97 years old.
I booked one of your HIGHLY QUALIFIED CLEANERS ...10 minutes before he was due he phone to say he can’t make it he spilled his chemicals! I phone for another appointment...they came 2 days later.
Your ad says from £19 any room.
When I booked it it jumped to £36.....when your UNQUALIFIED CLEANER CAME...10min into the NOT CLEANING he demanded he gets paid another £55 for the SPECIAL CHEMICALS he had to use... this carpet it’s still the same....not even the smallest of stain has been removed. He was here for 20 min. The carpet was dry.
What did I get charged for nearly a £100 for a 9 x 12 small bedroom carpet.
I have phoned, left messages and nobody is interested ....for a 97 year old it is a lot of money for nothing.
I’m taking this to advertise standards and also the Ombudsman....disgraceful

Unreliable

First experience of this company has not been a good one and I would not use them again.

Having been talked into having two carpets cleaned I made last minute arrangements to empty two Bedrooms of all furniture.

Having slept away, I am then told that the technician is unwell and asked if I would like to reschedule two hours before my appointment.

As far as I am concerned if this company is to provide such a service there should be a suitable contingency plan for these unpredictable circumstances.

Not happy and just not good enough!

Poor clean, left mess, but booking was fine.

Booking was straightforward and without a problem. However, when technicians arrived to do the cleaning they have done a poor job, finished very quickly and despite I had "deep clean" the carpet was not much cleaner than before. Furthermore, when they have been leaving they emptied their cleaning equipment on my lawn. I was very dissatisfied with their service.

I'm not one to write reviews

I'm not one to write reviews, but I honestly felt compelled to warn others about these cowboy cleaners.

My wife and I booked a day slot to get our rented property cleaned before returning it to the landlord, which required taking a day off work. However, on the day of the carpet clean, no-one showed up. The consequence of this was a loss of days’ pay, and sitting in a freezing empty house for a couple of hours. After waiting an hour, we spoke to one of their telephone reps, they informed us that one of their cleaners was ill. However, there was zero attempt to inform us. Really frustrating for us, and totally unprofessional behaviour from the company.

A cleaning slot was rebooked for the next day, the day on which we were due to hand the property back! which involved losing a further days pay. However, the timeslot comes around and low and behold, NO1 Carpet cleaners are no shows once again! After speaking to the rep once more, they informed us the cleaners had gone to a house 10 miles away! thinking it was ours. More stress, and more disarray!

The cleaner eventually turned up, over an hour late, at which point no apology was given by the cleaner, nor the company.

Once the cleaning was complete, I spoke to a telephone rep to voice my complaint about losing two full days pay to accommodate the company's incompetence. However, my complaint was quickly dismissed by the company, and they made clear their stance that a partial or full refund would not be issued. We've been sending the company emails for 3 weeks trying to get them to engage with us, and come to some arrangement, but it appears we are being totally ignored.

Moving to a new house is a stressful situation, and the last thing people need is more stress. My advice to anyone thinking of using this company, DON'T. Spend a little bit extra and go with a reputable company. We wish we had.

Oh I just loves reading all these bad reviews .......

Oh I just loves reading all these bad comments about this company! Absolute money grabbing time wasters, honestly people just stay well clear of this lot. If you don’t mind being spoken to like dirt then use this company ...... never know such ignorant people In my whole life. I wouldn’t let this company clean the dirt off the bottom of my shoes let alone come in my house and ‘clean’ my carpets (if that’s what they call it anyway) and oh yeah they’ll tell you once price on the phone but then they tell their technicians to ‘up sell’ and get as much money as they can. Believe me I’ve heard it from them myself!!

If I could give a 0 star I would

If I could give a 0 star I would! I was booked in to have my carpets cleaned on 14th Jan. Guy turned up, didn't seem to have been there long before he said it was done. He sold us scotchgard and said it was another £40 which we agreed to have. He had to come back the next day to apply this scotchgard. Upon returning he adivsed that from the photos he took I should have been charged more for an L-Shape sofa when I advised on the phone I had an L-Shape sofa so that would not be fair.

Upon having the scotcgard applied, I tested it with water as he advised and he said it would just sit on top of the carpet/sofa. This was a lie, the water went straight through without a second of sitting on top. I called No.1 Carpet Cleaing and advised this and said I was not happy I want a refund, they apparently do not give refunds, they only come out to rectify. I was booked in to have my deep clean done again in my living room and to have it re scotchgarded. On the day, the technician cancelled as he did not have enough products to do my cleaning with and asked me to call back to the office to re-schedule. I was then booked in for the next Friday. On the day of my re-scheduled appointment I had a call from No.1 Carpet Cleaners to advise that the technician had actually quit and there was no one in my area to cover, so I stated I wanted a refund, after talking to a manager, they agreed to refund me for the deep clean and the scotchgard.

I ave waited since the that phone call on 31st Jan to have my refund. I called up end of last week becuase I hadn't had the refund, they advised allow until Wednesday this week as it can take 5-7 working days.

I called up today and cannot believe it! Apparently, because I never got back to them they CANCELLED my refund!! They apologised and said there was nothing they can do and they cannot refund me. Not only was the job not done properly, but I was also mis-sold, at the wrong price, cancelled on twice and refused a refund when I was promised one!

THEY ARE A SCAM!!! DO NOT USE THEM!! WORST COMPANY.

Not cleaned at all!!

Not cleaned at all!!. Nothing has changed as it was never cleaned!Called to make the complaints never bother to call me back , after 3 phone cAlls finally talked to supervisor who was very rude didn’t want to hear anything about it !!! I asked to send somebody to do the job right didn’t ask for money back she hung up on me !!!!!! Never seen or heard that . Insane

A poor choice - requiring cash as well as agreed fee!

This was a poor choice of cleaner who asked for an additional £20 cash to see if he could get rid of a stain - he couldn't. The carpet in a rental property is only 9 months old and we'd specifically wanted it professionally cleaned to get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke but this still remains too.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, I paid for a carpet clean which was substandard, photos were provided to evidence this... on complaining the customer support manager completely ignored my complaint and has ignored several emails and contacts. High unprofessional rip off company with bad morals. Do not use under any circumstances...

04.02.2020 They appear to be suggesting in their response that the stains left are stubborn, this is complete rubbish and i sent them pictures of the dark brown water my vax sucked up after he had left. In fact the manager Carole agreed over the phone it was not acceptable and would deal with it, but did not, so please do not take their response as anything other than a weak attempt at protending they are anything other than rip off merchants.

Disappointed

Disappointed, don't use! Booked to have the carpets in a 4 bedroom house cleaned today ready for new tenants in the house next week. Received a call this morning to say not only was the technician off sick but it happened to be his last day and they had no one else who works in that area so wouldn't be able to clean carpets at all and they would issue a refund that I would receive in 3-5 days! Completely let down! Not only have I spent £20 in petrol driving up to Northampton to be at the house ready for them, we also now can't let the tenants move in next week so have lost a weeks worth of rent and now have to wait for our refund! Asked for the money returned as a same day payment transfer and got refused. Was told the manager Ebony would call me this afternoon and guess what...no call!! Awful company and awful customer service! We are losing out on income because of their incompetence. Shocking.

Terrible terrible service

Terrible terrible service. I would never use them again. It would be a zero star review if that were possible. My carpets look worse than before. Awful shoddy job. I have sent photos but no reply despite numerous emails. It's quite shocking. The biggest insult is raising a concern and being ignored. Rude.
I am considering Trading Standards.
(I'm usually a non complainer happy customer so this has clearly really bothered me! )

Having read the response from No. 1 Carpet Cleaners my complaint was nothing to do with a stain. I rest my case!

Numerous text messages all weekend confirming appointment. Didn't turn up, no phone call, nothing. When i called to ask about appointment was gave a lame excuse "cant contact technician", didn't offer to rebook, apologise or anything.

Scanty clean

Update to this review - DO NOT USE. When the carpet dried it was clear that absolutely no visible change in colour or cleanliness apart from a couple of faint stripes. Its been a complete waste of my time and money, I feel ripped off, I will now get another company to come and do a proper clean. I have tried hard to nicely complain to the company, 3 telephone calls from me later they have accused me of inappropriately paying the operator behind their back to clean an extra 1x3m area (he asked me £8.50 cash to include that - and I had mentioned this in my initial booking call to the company if they listen to the recording, so I was not trying to do anything dodgy). They also tried to tell me I had waited a week to complain - when my original phone call to them was 2 days after the clean when the carpet was dry enough to see it was still just as dirty as before the clean. My original review was: Very pleasant operative, and if you want a quick scanty clean they will do. But it was not the carpet cleaning experience I have had from other companies. They don't move furniture (although were very helpful when I wanted to), which I think was mentioned at the end of the booking call but I didn't really focus on - I assumed it meant really big pieces of furniture. They were also very quick, which I felt meant they hadn't really tried on the dirtier parts of the carpet, which haven't changed colour as a result of the clean - and I can tell that when its still all wet. A particular concern was that they didn't protect under furniture legs/contact points with the wet carpet. I asked and they said they didn't do it - so it wasn't something they forgot, they just don't do it. The other cleaners I have used put little metal foil squares under wooden legs and metal castors to prevent staining on the carpet - If I hadn't been aware this was needed (and done it myself) I would have had wooden furniture with wet bottoms of legs and stain marks on the carpets from metal castors and wood stain. I would not use them again.

Scam company

If I could give no stars I would! Cowboy company avoid!!!
They cancelled two appointments both times saying that the technician left the company immediately. When I asked them when the next time I could have an appointment was, they told they didn’t know as they don’t have anyone for the area.
So I asked my neighbor to call them and try and make an appointment and she got one for the next day. She even said “do you definitely have a technician as you cancelled me last time” and they assured her they did and booked her in but didn’t turn up to the appointment. They took my money the same day I gave them my details and I am still waiting for the refund!
Avoid this company they are a scam!!

Worst company I've ever had to deal…

Worst company I've ever had to deal with.
They have cancelled my appointment twice, second time they were a no-show after confirming with the head office and driver twice during the day!
Horrendous customer service as well, still chasing for my refund.
Avoid at all costs!

Great service

Easy booking system, with plenty of availability. Chris, our technician was punctual and really friendly, he did a great job on our carpets and even helped me get our heating working. Would absolutely use this service again.
