Although recommended by Check a Trade you always worry what sort of a job your going to get but when an emergency drain blockage occurred today I couldn't have been in better hands! The young man in charge and his partner were courteous, extremely efficient and were quick to have everything under control.
Thank you.

The repairers involved were all excellent and did what was necessary as quickly as possible in a friendly manner

Happy with the response to my request and work completed. Expensive but perhaps I am not in touch with realistic prices.
Do not appreciate being constantly hassled for a review. I have been recently widowed and am swamped with emails and paperwork so please no more!

Would like to leave this review for anyone looking to use this company. I had the drainage guys come out Monday afternoon. A drain team arrived for the awful occurrence my general builders had come across while working. I must say I myself and the builders were at most very entertained from the machines and equipment these guys carry on board.
(Very high tech)
After a lot of investigating they managed to unblock my sewer pipes and identified the issues. And explained very well to myself why and how this had blocked up.
Great guys Harvey and Zac great customer support very professional

1. Massively overpriced at over £3500 which was charged and paid for before the work was completed for a blockage in shared drains which would have been repaired for free by the Water Company. We felt they took advantage of an OAP who just had heard gurgling in pipes..2.Wrongly advised customer not to contact her insurer. When I spoke to the insurer they expected jetting to cost about £800 not £3.5K! .3.On 2nd day the Camera broke so they couldn't confirm that they'd completely cleared the blockage. Tools broke or were missing so had to borrow or rebuy more.4.The men who arrived on 2nd day had to travel over 3 hours each way. They were brilliant and worked hard but we felt the original plumber on 1st day omitted to give full facts that the water companies are responsible for some repairs and that insurers would also advise too in order to reclaim costs. 5.It was discovered to be a shared drain so the water company should have solved the problem for free.6. My elderly mother had only contacted this company because they were advertising in a local magazine as if they were a local company and also because they were a Trustpilot recommended company.7.We are giving 2 stars because the guys on 2nd day of work were so hard working but generally can't recommend the company based on pricing and lack of transparency.8..just checked our facts and noted that my mother paid half the cost in advance and as the work hadn't been completed felt she had to allow them to return to finish it. She's 86 and as we live over 70 miles away we couldn't get there to her to help or assess the situation. We had to trust what the engineer said.
PLEASE ALWAYS GET A 2ND AND 3RD QUOTE FROM ANOTHER RECOMMENDED PLUMBER.
Update...IF YOU HAVE BLOCKED DRAINS THEN ALWAYS CONTACT YOUR WATER COMPANY FIRST AND THEN YOUR INSURER....As more gurgling had been heard in recent weeks we called Severn Trent Water who are responsible for this area. They told us at the outset that if the drain was found to be a private drain (ie The householders responsibility) then they could still do the work but would have to charge £114 to clear the blockage. Well ,that's a whole lot cheaper than £3500 so we arranged for them to come. When they arrived they put a camera down from the main manhole ( at no extra charge), the camera shifted the blockage of waste and they checked that it was flowing freely before they left.
No1 PHD had contacted me to try to arrange for Lee, their head engineer to attend because they want to assess further and so that I would change my review rating. The £3500 price my mum had paid was to include sleeving in case the drain had collapsed. The drain pipes are intact and weren't sleeved so we are awaiting a refund that I was told we are due. The workmen didn't say that my mother would only be charged for actual work undertaken but the office lady told me that we shouldn't have been charged for the sleeving. The workmen on the 2nd visit charged my mother the final payment of around £1700. ALWAYS CONTACT YOUR WATER COMPANY FIRST.

The response from first contact was very efficient. The drainage engineer and his colleague arrived as planned, made a good job of the problem, a collapsed drain, and made good taking all the spoil away and tidying up.

No1PHD answered my call for a leak in the car parking area of our flat.
They responded instantly and 2 guys from the company turned up the following morning to investigate.
They were able to identify the problem and quoted for the repair.

This company are dreadful and unscrupulous, my elderly mother contacted them at the start of May as she had a blocked drain. They assessed she required a new soakaway, told her the price and insisted she paid 50% straight away. She was coerced into making the payment, they did not leave her with the quote as stated on their website. The work was carried out and it was not done to a good standard. Unfortunately mum called them back a few weeks later for a second blocked drain, luckily, other work was being carried out on the property and the workman doing that work realised that mum was being conned out of a lot of money, (over £6k for 2 small soakaways) and he told her to cancel. The company refused a full refund saying that almost £200 was for the cost of the quote, even though their website states they provide a free, no obligation quotation. I raised a dispute with the card company and did get the money back for mum. The workman who realised what was going on, carried out the work at half the price and did a far superior job. I eventually got No1 PHD to come back to look at the first job, and it took 2 men 5 hours to rectify the work and remove all the rubbish that had been left by the first team of workmen. The final job was done well, but this was not carried out until 22/07/2024, and payment of their offer of £250 compensation wasn’t made until mid August. I then placed a 1 star review on Trustpilot and within 2 hours of my review being published they called me as they weren’t happy about it and offered a further £500 if I would delete my review.
This company have a history of treating elderly people badly, which I found out after reading the reviews, they do not care and I had to fight to get the job done correctly. The admin girl is useless and made matters worse, they do not follow their own vulnerable persons policy and they did not do a good job initially. On top of all that they offer bribes in order to keep their high rating on Trustpilot. Please do not allow your elderly relatives to contact this company, and I would encourage anyone who has had a similar experience to use Trustpilot’s whistleblower form. This is a very simple process and bribery is completely against the T&C’s that companies agree to abide by with Trustpilot.
