Just an awful company to deal with. Avoid!

Just an awful company to deal with.

As a 10+ years old business, not had such experience with a similar company like that. High premiums, upon taking the policy. They spoke to us and due to a minute detail, they said they will have to charge extra admin fees to change the policy that was literally just created

Before renewal is due, email received. Requested an updated premium with new drivers. No response. And been sent a renewal document few days later. Sent them an email and told them we have not received an update on the figures and that we don't want to renew. They said to send an email. My colleague spoke to them to get renewal figure with the updated drivers. They gave it to her. Obviously more expensive, and we told them on the phone we wouldn't be interested and asked them on how to confirm the cancellation, they said we have to send an email so we sent an email that we are not wishing to renew.

Now they called and say we have to pay cancellation charge because you agreed to the changes claiming that that call was us confirming the renewal - and that's when our new renewal is not even due till the 11th of July!

Now they listened to the call found out that we've not confirmed any renewal, they went ahead and cancelled the policy and said they won't provide NCD proof, AND we will not be covered from today - knowing that our existing policy that we paid for already does not run out till 2 days later!

Money hogging, rude agent on call, no response to emails. All they care about is charging whatever they can.

I don't even dare to think how would they have managed a claim if we ever needed. Absolute clowns.

Should have read the reviews around the internet before going ahead with them. They run with multiples names and have multiple profiles on review sites to hide their true color from customers. Just an awful company to deal with.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NOT WORTH IT!

My BAD EXPERIENCE renewal invitation for household

My renewal invitation for household combined insurance has increased 355%,yes 355%,
Last year their quote was £129.23,but they took £174.23! It was too late before I realised they add on fees etc.So OK, still a competitive price,but BEWARE,the price they quote is NOT the final price.
This year the price is £798.44!!!!!!!!!
God knows what their final price would be.
I phoned customer services and finally spoke to somebody who could not tell me WHY the massive increase.
I gave up,and told them not to renew.
I had the impression,they did not give a dam.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Given the current situation some insurers are choosing not to quote on risks they ordinarily would do. In your case the insurer you were with for 2019/2020 has chose not to quote this year. In addition your roof is 50% asphalt which can be difficult to place or obtain a quote on.

As always, we searched our panel of insurers and that was the cheapest quote we found. This is unfortunate but wholly out of our control. I hope this clarifies some detail around your renewal.

The worst decision ever

The worst decision ever! Don't even consider using their services. We bought a business insurance package online and paid all the money upfront (770). A couple of hours later we get a call from them that they don't do that kind of insurance anymore and they will give us the money after 8 weeks... After calling them multiple times without an answer, we finally reached them and they said that it is a standard procedure to do that. We explained to them that we need to make that insurance ASAP and we need our money for it as we can't wait 8 weeks to get our money back and make another insurance. The people on the phone were really rude and every time we call their stories are different. Absolutely devastated how can they keep the money for 8 weeks considering the insurance was not active even for an hour and it was their fault that we need a refund! After a lot of calls, we managed to get 630 back and a response that we won't get the rest because that is what they decided! They stole 140 from us for doing nothing! Very awful experience! We work hard for our money and they disrespect our hard work in such a way by taking 140 from us for nothing and being on our way when we need to create insurance with another company. To all customers considering them, don't make my mistake and look through the reviews first! Now I can see that they have done that to many people! I only hope we will manage to get all of our money back as no one deserves such a disrespect! They don't answer anymore to our calls and the last answer we got was that it is their decision and we can't do anything about it!

After they took there deposit next day they cancel insurance and they sent email state on it that could not keep my paynent and they refused to refund back, beware of nova insurance

Be very careful, unauthorized access to my bank account.

Be very careful as they take money from your account without authorization.

This is the second time I have had to edit this review. The company tries to get bad reviews removed. This should also tell you something about the company.

I took out a short term insurance on an empty property I was selling and told them not to auto renew.

Three weeks ago I had an email thanking me for renewing. I emailed and explained I no longer wanted the insurance. One week ago had another email with new policy details which is not due for another two weeks. Phoned and emailed again, they said don't worry. Last night 7 days before policy is due they took the money from my account.

I called and said that I wanted my money back and the answer was you should get a refund in a week or so.

Based on other peoples cancellation fees I did not want to do this. The credit card company took this information, agreed with me and did an instant 'charge back' so that I did not need to rely on a company that had ignored all my previous instructions.

So finally, BE VERY CAREFUL if you want to use this company.

UPDATE: Just had a reply to this review after 25 MONTHS ... really fast customer service

I brought van Nova Van insurance…

I brought van Nova Van insurance through go compare, I got a call on day 2 (15 hours after i brought the insurance) to say they would need to add charges of £400 to the existing quote of £600 and so I opted to cancel the insurance. Nova Insurance Levy a £150 charge despite cancelling the insurance within 24 hours, most other company's charge £15-£20. Furthermore, they said the process to refund takes 6-8 weeks.

Please avoid them they are not particularly nice to speak with, their hidden charges are a joke and their processing time exceptionally long.

Never heard of Nova Insurance but they were the 2nd cheapest when i got a quote on my car insurance. Called up, they answered questions straight away. Very simple

Nova insurance are a useless company…

Nova insurance are a useless company read the other reviews they only reply to good reviews that are probably false and then complain to trustpilot to take it down
I was ripped off by this company but i will not stop until i get my money back i complained to compare the market who had them on there website and they i must say were great and helped me un the first instance
So please keep away they take your business at a good price then call you the next dsy and double the price if you cancel they want a cancellation fee
They are breaking the law
They have no cooling off period
Lets see how long trust pilot kerp this on

AVOID - Same experience as many others

Same experience as many others, received a competitive quote on go-compare, only to be then advised that details were incorrect (not) and the new quote is £200 more expensive. Not only when I advised I wasn't prepared to pay that, they told me I had to pay £60 cancellation charge, even so it was less than a day, and the policy didn't even start for another 20 days. I then decided to stay with them, but extra costs kept crawling in. In the end the policy was working £400 more than originally quoted. Now they want to charge me £60 + £50 admin fee to cancel a policy that hasn't even started and I have cancelled within 5 days. AVOID

Would use again

Absolutely hate the job of renewing insurance. However after dealing with John Forbes the whole process was made completely stress free!! All dealt with extremely quickly. Would recommend and will be using again.

NEVER BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY!

What an awful experience dealing with Nova Insurance has been.

Same scenario happened to me as many of the other reviews left by unhappy customers on here. They give you a competitive quote, you accept and pay, then you get an email saying contact required. When you call them they demand more money than agreed and if you want to cancel you have to pay an admin fee! This was all in the space of a couple of hours. They make their money by these 'admin fees'. Absolute scammers Nova Insurance! Apparently there is no calling off period in place with them either where you are entitled to your money back if you change your mind????

I was lucky enough to have paid the full amount via my credit card who helped me get my money back although Nova Insurance made it as hard as possible and it took almost 6 months to get back my credit card company were excellent. The manager on my case from Virgin even said she could not believe how this company could get away with doing what they were doing to so many customers.

I have reported Nova Insurance to the ombudsman and just hope anyone reading this review will not be fooled into their competitive quote. If it stops just one person from buying with Nova Insurance then it was worth it!

Do not make me laugh! If you put enough effort into a customer service as you did trying to get negative reviews taken down you would find you wouldn’t be getting so many negative reviews from REAL CUSTOMERS. I say real customers as all you need to do is take a look at this companies most recent positive reviews. They have 2 positive reviews which are word for word exactly the same including the title! Come on trustpilot, surely this is against your rules?? I have the screenshot as they will now most likely change them.
And as for your ‘explanation’ on my case, anyone reading this just needs to look at the verified tick next to my review. As Nova Insurance kept trying to get my review taken down, I had to supply proof of what had happened to trustpilot. I did this and now they cannot have it removed, so anyone reading this can be the judge themselves on that one.

Try to avoid..

Try to avoid... We have cancelled the insurance on the very same day...
Had to email and call numerous times and it took us 4 months in total to get the refund. Many charges was made, no explanations at all, no invoices no documentation... By law they were not authorized to make these deductions so we have been left with only 10% of the payment at the end and are making a formal complaint to Financial Ombudsman at current.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took out my van insurance through…

I took out my van insurance through compare the market and chose Nova Insurance because they were the best price. After accepting the insurance and paying my deposit of £99.65 the following day I got an email from Nova Insurance asking me to contact them to ensure my cover was correct. After going through a previous claim on my last Insurance they advised me that they would have to up-date my policy and came back with an additional cost of £120 on top of the previous quote. I refused to go ahead with this offer so he said then you want to cancel this insurance, to which I said yes. He then said that there was a £60 cancellation fee as set out in the terms and conditions when I accepted the policy?
Every one please be careful because on compare the market page when you click on Nova Insurance it states cancellation fee of £45 after 14day cooling off period. The company are cons! They offer best price car/van insurance then try to raise the price, then con you out of a minimum of £60.... No consumer rights, no cooling off period of 14 days.
Please do not use this company!

Hi team

Hi team,
My team is Srinivasa Nalla. I have contacted this company through Costco. This company started charging £340 per month on Insurance and provider as Aviva. When I spoke to one of my friend about this and he asked me to go for a different company and they are charging £59 for the same services.
My direct debit will come on 11th of every month and in the month of Jan I have asked them to change the direct debit from 11th to 02nd of the month. I have cancelled my policy on 06th of Feb 2020.
I have asked the refund amount and the status, they said it will take 6-8 weeks to know the refund amount.
Today (11th march 2020) I have called the customer service(Ross Arbuckle) said that I will not entitle to get any money due to admin charges of £60 and insurance cancellation policy amount for £180 and other charges. This Ross Arbuckle asked me to write an email for the breakdown of the insurance cancellation charges.

This Nova Insurance is a complete rip off especially when you are new to UK. However with this company I have lost £2,150 for car value of £3,500. I have spoke to Dean Harris as well on the same.

With in this digital world no company will take 6-8 weeks of refund and they are not refunding any money at all.

I have lodged a complaint with financial ombudsman service but I am not sure how long they are going to take it.
