About Novorésumé - BEST AI Resume Builder
Written by the company
Novoresume is a resume builder trusted by over 18 million job seekers in 180+ countries. Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, the platform was built around a single insight from recruitment research: recruiters spend just 6 to 7 seconds skimming a resume before deciding whether a candidate moves forward.
Most resume tools give you a blank page and wish you luck. Novoresume gives you a system.
What Makes Novoresume Different
- ✅ Recruiter-approved templates: every design is built around the 6-7 second scan, with visual hierarchy that guides the eye to what matters most: your experience, skills, and results
- ✅ Real-time content optimizer: as you write, Novoresume analyzes your content and flags issues with layout, phrasing, keyword density, and section completeness based on your target role and location
- ✅ ATS-compatible designs: all templates pass through applicant tracking systems without breaking formatting or losing data
- ✅ One-click customization: switch fonts, colors, layouts, and section order without starting over
- ✅ Cover letter builder included: matching cover letter templates that align visually with your resume
- ✅ Multi-language support: build your resume in your language, not just English
- ✅ Download in PDF and other formats: crisp, print-ready files every time

About the Company

Good while it was free, but not anymore
I used Novorésumé for years and always thought it was a great and easy-to-use CV builder. Unfortunately, the move towards a paid model is disappointing. People who are actively looking for a job often don't have the financial luxury to pay for extra services such as CV builders. Job seekers need these tools the most, which makes putting them behind a paywall feel rather unfortunate. It was a great service while it was genuinely free, but I’ll now have to look elsewhere. And please Novoresume, don't comment on this review with your 'free 7-days plan' or the other free non-usefull tools.

Thank you for your feedback, Emile! Andrei here, co-founder of Novoresume.
You asked us not to reply with the 7-day plan, so I won't. Here's what actually changed: based on feedback like yours, we brought back the original Free Basic plan with no time limit. It applies to all new users and to everyone being migrated to our new Novoresume V2. That migration is taking some time, which is likely why you hit a paywall. Email us at contact@novoresume.com and we'll fix your account directly, because this shouldn't happen again.
And one honest question, asked sincerely. You wrote that Novoresume helped you for years, so a 1-star review feels harsh. What would that help be worth to you? We don't run ads and we don't sell your data. The free service you used still had real costs on our side: servers, support, people. We covered those for years so it could stay free and we want to keep helping job seekers who can't pay, but we're trying to figure out how to do that sustainably, and your answer would actually help.

After applying to jobs for a while with no luck, I switched to Novoresume and rebuilt my resume from scratch. The resume builder is intuitive, the designs are professional without being flashy, and the ATS optimization tips are genuinely practical. A month later I got a job at a company I'd been targeting for over a year. Whether it was the formatting, the clarity, or just better luck, my resume finally started getting responses. Worth every minute spent on it.

Tried to Upload a Basic Cv
Tried to Upload a Basic Cv, to see how their website works ,If I can work with it . Did not let me upload anything, gave me timeout errors . But very interestingly when it gave me the timeout errors it would prompt me to maybe buy the premium package to help smoothen the experience . Scam Artists .

We are sorry to hear about your experience, Dan, as that is not the intended flow, and the "Upload" should work seamlessly and for free. Currently, we are migrating and updating our whole website and due to this errors/bugs such as yours can happen.
Can you please contact us at contact@novoresume.com with more details about the issues you faced, so we can make sure everything works as intended? We will also make sure to upgrade your account to Premium for free as an apology for the inconvenience and so that you can try what our editor can do.

I had been using novoresume for years
I had been using novoresume for years, it does have great templates but that's about it. It already had quite a few limitations for the free plan(such as one page limit download, only certain templates/features were free, couldn't have more than one file saved in your account, and more), so it's actually frustrating that they made it fully paid with only one free week trial. If you're willing to pay the fee I guess it works fine, but the previous structure was already limited and it feels like they overall made it practically unavailable without paying.

Thank you for sticking with Novoresume for years, and for the honest feedback. You're right that the change was significant, and we want to explain the reasoning openly.
For most of the past decade, the free plan was funded entirely by paying customers. We have never shown ads and never sold user data, and we won't start. That meant every free resume was paid for by someone else, and as free usage grew, the old structure stopped being sustainable. The one-week trial was our interim answer: full access, no credit card required, and no auto-renewal surprise at the end, compared to most resume builders that charge more than we do and start billing the moment you enter card details.
That said, we hear you, and this isn't the end state. We are currently building a new Free tier with no time limit, and we recently launched more than 10 job search tools that are completely free (such as novoresume.com/tools/ats-resume-checker and novoresume.com/tools/resume-job-matcher), no account needed.
Thanks again for the years with us - we are curious to hear how much did Novoresume actually helped you in this period? We'd love the chance to win back your other 3 stars.
