Our NUCO ski trip was great overall

Our NUCO ski trip was great overall, and Lucia was a fantastic rep throughout the week. She stopped by our rooms to check in, was very friendly, and was easy to approach if we needed anything. Her presence made things run a bit smoother, which was much appreciated.

Phoebe

Quite a special person. Made each meeting better than the last. Incredibly warm and welcoming, could not imagine having a different NUCO rep. She fixed every problem we had, never stopped no matter how difficult the problem was. Her level of persistence is second to none. Up there for the nicest person Ive ever met. Whenever there was a problem she had a solution, if we ever saw her on the slopes she’d hit us with a hello and how are you doing. Made this experience one of a kind, wouldn’t settle for any rep other than her. The standards may have been set a little too high. But that’s just Pheebs, she’s one of a kind

What a room rep!

Amy made such a good impression on my room of 4 at Cheval Blanc in Val Thorens, always bringing free shots and a smile even when she had night patrols that evening. Great advice about events and business with the room cleaning too. Thank you NUCO.

Frankie the GOAT

Frankie was so chill and friendly and loved spending time with him and was so helpful with everything. Sam was also so helpful when figuring out moving in. Had great time.

Georgina saved us

Horrible company tactics

Horrible company tactics, charges 150 pound non refundable deposit, and even cancellations 5 months before aren’t refundable, they are doing this to students who barely can even afford a holiday, but just so to get a chance for a s space to the ski trip, there were never a very clear statement before payment about this deposit being non refundable, I have passport visas issues that I can no longer depart and they still tell me to sell the ticket myself, never encountered anything like that before

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to see that your experience has led to a negative perception.

When you booked your trip, you chose to pay the £150 deposit to secure your place and agreed to our booking terms and conditions at the time of creating your account and making payment.

We know that ski trips are a significant expense, and we work hard to keep costs as low as possible for students, but the decision to proceed with the booking was entirely yours.

In order to secure accommodation, we are required to pay deposits to our suppliers. Your deposit contributes directly towards these costs, which means that cancellation fees still apply regardless of when the booking is made or cancelled. In many cases, we also incur cancellation charges from our suppliers.

We do, however, offer flexibility to help avoid losing your deposit. If you were unable to attend, you had the option to transfer your place to someone else free of charge before the payment deadline. Even after this deadline, a transfer is still possible up until departure day for a £50 admin fee. This meant there were options available to you to avoid losing the non-refundable deposit.

It’s also worth noting that many tour operators and accommodation booking sites such as booking.com or Airbnb, operate under similar policies where payments are non-refundable if free cancellation is not offered and stated.

We don’t feel it’s fair to describe our policies as horrible company tactics, particularly as all cancellation terms were clearly communicated at the time of booking, and alternatives were available to you.

We appreciate your feedback and hope this helps clarify our position.

Hamish

As an oversized Oxford University student (yes, the chairs fear me), I, James, would like to extend my most ceremonious praise to our NUCO room rep, Hamish. Never before have I witnessed such a graceful fusion of organisational finesse, bureaucratic wizardry, and sheer human perseverance in the face of student chaos.

This rep didn’t just handle my questions — they cradled them. They didn’t simply answer emails — they embarked upon odysseys of correspondence that would humble even the most seasoned civil servant. When I was confused, they clarified. When I was lost, they guided. When I sent an unnecessarily long message at 2:14am, they responded with saintlike patience.

NUCO should erect a small bronze statue in their honour (I volunteer to help unveil it).

In conclusion: exceptional service, exceptional human, exceptional experience.

This is exactly what our reps are there to do and to really enhance your holiday experience. And it certainly sounds like Hamish did just that.
