From the very start the the customer service was excellent. All my dealings were with Amanda who in my opinion went beyond the norm. Nothing was too much hassle for her and over the weeks I was kept in the loop and updated. The plans changed numerous times until I got the perfect. canopy. Great company and very customer focused. 👍👍

We could not be happier with our oak framed porch. We were not sure who to use and got a few quotes from other suppliers. However, we didn't see anything that we really liked until we found Oak By design. Their galleries showed lots of amazing looking porches and oak designs and Amanda, in their sales team, was extremely helpful throughout the sales process. The quality of the porch is exceptional and the finished product, at the front of our house, has made all the hard work during.our extension worth it.

We purchased a lovely oak truss for the team at oak by design and we are over the moon with how it all looks, we dealt with Joanne and to say she made the process easy is an understatement she was in regular contact with us to the make the process smooth, the truss it self came flat pack and was super easy to put together with all the pieces numbered to make it a quick and simple process, we would highly recommend oak by design to anyone looking for an oak product to add to your project

We recently completed a new build project to create a family home over three floors; at the heart of our build was a desire to create a welcoming environment with beautiful features. I will be eternally grateful to Oak by Design for helping us to realise our dream with their stunning products.

Initially, we approached Oak by Design for a porch. After working closely with Joanne to deliver a perfect design for the porch, we decided to stay with Oak by Design to build our central staircase with oak tread and balustrade. Jamie was equally amazing. He worked closely with our builders to ensure precision manufacture. In addition, they created stunning covers for lintels and a mantel for the fireplace. Nothing was too much trouble and we never felt rushed or under pressure.

The team stayed in regular contact and were happy to come to site to help with measurements and details of the installation. Thank you to Dave and Barry for their craftsmanship and expertise! Everybody that we dealt with at Oak by Design were friendly, patient, knowledgeable and delivered exactly what they promised. We couldn't be happier with the result.

Oakbydesign have recently completed a substantial extension to our cottage. A local builder undertook the essential foundations and other stone structural works and Oakbydesign installed the oak structure, all glazing, roofing, flooring, skirting and other oak work features in the cottage. They have also installed an oak canopy and shutters to the front of the cottage.
Oakbydesign are a local company which has been very important to us. Communications have been excellent throughout the whole project.
From our very first contact we have received first class advice and service from the whole of the company.
Oakbydesign, are a very personable team, are great to have around and to work with. They are skilful, efficient, and produce a beautiful high quality product and in our view represent, very fair value for money. Jamie Winspear personally led and managed the process in his usual friendly and quietly efficient way.
We are now living in the cottage and are extremely, pleased with the quality and ambience of our new home and surroundings.
We would thoroughly recommend Oakbydesign to anyone considering a quality oak building, extension or other oak product.

We did a great deal of research before deciding to go with Oakbydesign for our porch and we are delighted that we did.
From first contact to completion they have been first class to deal with. They helped with design and sizing and adjusted measurements several times to meet our requirements. The porch fitted together like a jigsaw and we are delighted with the finished product which has received lots of admiration.

We found the Oak by Design company while looking for ideas for a sun room. We had looked at several other fairly local companies,but mostly they used green oak, we wanted seasoned. The reviews for Oak by Design were all positive, and once we had made contact with them, mainly through telephone conversations with Joanne the first point of contact, plus an onsite visit, we were confident to go ahead with them. We have not been disappointed, the sun room is beautiful ,extremely well made, and all manufactured to an agreed programme and price.

Four years ago, I made a decision to add an oak porch to the front of my home. After much on line searching and learning about different types of drying techniques, I chose to go with Oak by Design based in York (I live in the South West of England). Initially, my draw was that they use green oak, air dried because it splits less and I knew the porch I wanted was not going to be straight forward. However, once I’d spoken with Joanne, I felt confident that what I wanted was possible. I wasn’t wrong! The porch went up a dream, everything pieced together beautifully. We used the protection oil that came with porch when it went up and again last summer and it looks gorgeous! We have had so many compliments from strangers, neighbours and posties. And my husband always remarks that it was definitely the best purchase that I’ve evermade. I agree!

I have just installed another Oak porch supplied by Oak by Design and am again delighted with the product and whole process. I have bought and installed quite a few of their porches, doors and structures over the years and the quality and service is fantastic. My wife and I were looking for a conservatory that would complement our new house which is being built in Northumberland National Park. We needed something acceptable to the planners and importantly, materials that would blend into the natural surroundings. After much research we chose OBD because they were able to demonstrate a significant number of successful installations for clients across a spectrum of design projects. From our first contact Joanne held our hands through the whole process from design to implementation, with superb communication throughout. As we were in an area outside of OBD's usual patch, our conservatory was delivered in kit form on the date agreed and assembled by our joiner, who commented that he thoroughly enjoyed assembling it. Moreover every joint fitted perfectly, every part required was supplied, and any technical queries he had were answered immediately, only a telephone call away. Not trusting myself with regard to final pre production measurements, Richard was happy to travel from Yorkshire to take measurements and discuss the build with my architect and builder.
All in all, a great experience with a truly talented and friendly team, and best of all we now have a beautiful oak conservatory. Thank you.

After being recommended and seeing the excellent standard of work after my friend had a conservatory built. I had a large oversized board made and engraved. The board is beautiful and will be a family heirloom.

I’ve had a few bespoke pieces made through OBD. The quality is always exceptional and the advice given is second to none. I’m currently planning my oak flooring and Joanne has given me some really helpful ideas and information. I couldn’t recommend enough!

Fantastic experience using Oak by Design. From the first point of contact with Joanne and Amanda, their customer service was excellent. I knew I wanted oak in my workspace, but couldn’t envisage how it would work. Jamie came up with a fantastic plan which I never would have thought of, and then the team installed it. It’s perfect and I get so many compliments about how nice it looks. 5 star service- highly recommend

We started the process of our new porch by spotting a stunning porch locally, I made a few enquiries and was recommended Oak by Design by the residents of that property. I looked up the website and made a phone call. From that moment we realised that we were in very safe hands. It was daunting taking the measurements but Joanne gave us the reassurance that we needed, advice and support was always available. Communication was great throughout the design phase, this continued right to completion. The porch arrived on a pallet with clear and methodical instructions, the builders were assured that they could make contact with Oak by Design at any time, they didn't need to as the instructions were accurate. As we removed the original door surround we discovered concrete grey bricks..... panic set in as this was not expected. We shared our panicked discovery with Joanne who literally said "no problem you can do this, or you can do this, have you thought about this?"... problem solved and a stunning oak surround arrived days later.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Oak by Design, we are delighted with our lovely new porch and the look of our home has been transformed by it's addition.

The design was spot on, the quality of materials supplied was very high and the installation team did a first class job.
