I had the pleasure of dealing with Sonny, when I bought the BMW 1 series from Oakwood Autos, he was friendly professional, friendly and extremely helpful in assisting me with my new purchase.

Sadly there was a fault with the cruise control, however once I contact the dealership and got the car booked in, it was resolved the same day.

Great experience and would highly recommend.

Easy to find, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Really happy with my van purchase from sonny and auto wood, deposit down and picked it up a week later. Great guys and easy to deal with.

Not the car that's the problem...not in my case anyway....been buying motors and bikes long enough to decide if I can take a punt and yes these guys are just buying at auction and spinning them into retail..... spending as little as possible...(by that I mean near enough zero)..so you pays your money and takes your chance.

It is their after-care that appears to be the problem, they are truly well balanced individuals...they definitely have chips on both shoulders..I only rang to ask if they had processed the V5C as it was 3 weeks after I did the deal and the DVLA are exceeding everyone's expectations at the moment with sub 5 day turnarounds...apparently they post them!...and when I expressed real wonderment and could he confirm that mine had been sent the guy got really snippy,..and then told me I was rude....probably because I laughed.

Anyway....what is really interesting is the inconsistency of review opinions on these guys..they are truly marmite ...what is abundantly clear is that their business model is to buy at auction...not to touch them in any way until they get a sale and then do the minimum of work they can get away with ......."we sell them at trade price bruv" is their mantra..so "buyer beware" in terms of the apparent state of repair of any car you could get from them and the similarly the support you will likely get if things go wrong...like buying privately only with bigger margins....as for me then the car is fine...the issues the car has I don't have a problem with..I am pragmatic about that..but this crew's post sales attitude?.....that is something that is beyond redemption I would wager...they make money..."why would we change bruv innit tho"?

Oh and count your fingers if you shake hands with them....jus' sayin'

We arrived to view a vw on the 10th Jan. Car was nice but had a grinding from breaks, mentioned we wanted the car on the assurance this would be addressed on our return on the 15th…. It was and drove perfectly, very nice car at a fair price. Genuine hardworking down to earth lads and far from the usual stuck up attitudes you find from most dealerships but still boasting a range of quality motors,100% be getting another car from this team, met the boss and I assure you these guys are no crooks, ignore the bad reviews, probably from rival car lots. Thanks guys great job

Great telephone and face to face customer service. Friendly staff and clear process for purchasing and part exchange. (Remember to bring your driving licence to test drive a car!)

I never review anything but this is important so here it is:

I bought a car with a gearbox that broke 10 minutes after leaving the lot which caused me to drive home on the motorway in 1st gear endangering myself and my father.

When attempting to return the car they threatened to call the police for abandoning a vehicle on their property.

It was not until we mentioned our familiarity with trading standards and readiness to take them to court that they offered a refund (which they dragged their feet for as long as possible in getting to us). By looking at Reddit, they were also in numerous court cases with other people at this time.

Customer service was very polite and professional, until our money was in their hands at which point they were rude and aggressive, trying to scare us out of leaving the car with them.

Subsequently the car was back up for sale on Ebay with repairs being made unlikely, due to how quickly the ad appeared, so I imagine they are going to try and scam somebody else now.

Please read the other reviews here before considering buying a car from OA, they need to be shut down.

Bought a car had it a few days, clutch and gearbox failed, rang up back and fourth, took the car back was told they can take up to 14 days for a refund, no refund for 17-18 days causing me to miss out on an £800 commitment.

I purchased a car in February within 2-3 months it was off the road engines knackered. I’ve never had any experience like this one F&@king dreadful car had a slow puncture was just pumped up for the sale I had constant coolant leaks had it in for repair, paid towards the repairs (still not repaired) this went on for months and months had an independent inspection done on said vehicle they lied on the report they had written up which ended up going in their favour I went there because I was fed up of waiting for the director to even be bothered to even get in touch with the sales team to let me know what’s happening and all I got was a s£&t attitude they couldn’t care less what they sell they are an embarrassment to the car sales industry I’m now out of pocket and no car luckily I could clear the finance. For anyone even considering purchasing don’t you’re better off going to a scrap yard for a car it will be more reliable.

Part exchanged my Audi for the same one in petrol, barely gave me £2k for the ‘fix up costs’ then sold it for over £6k. Left me with 0miles of fuel when bought, a slow puncture tyre and then the suspension arm snapped just outside of my warranty.
Now 7 months later I’m getting parking charges through as they haven’t changed the details which they assured me they would deal with the paperwork themselves. Emailed and no response, parking charge now going to debt recovery and it’s not even my car anymore!
Helpful enough to take your money but no aftercare whatsoever

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!

I bought the car on 3rd September and it has broken down three times, and twice a few weeks later. I have emailed them about the issue but they did not respond at all.

They did not tell me about any faults with the car when I bought it.

Disappointed with the staff and the car they sold.

The staff were very helpful and gave insightful advice and assistance when necessary, there was a wide variety of cars to choose from for affordable prices. I’d definitely recommended Oakwood Autos to a friend or family, I already have in fact.
