I really don't know where to start with…
I really don't know where to start with this company. I ordered lights in November and another order in December totalling £452. Both orders are now well over the 10 day delivery promise on the website. First they were in stock, then out of stock, then under "quality control" - all excuses and no items. I have contacted them several times - the latest excuse is that "there's a backlog because of Christmas" I wish I had read the reviews here before buying. The latest is that "they will push the orders through and monitor them in the new year" - looks like I'll be contacting Barclaycard and buying elsewhere. Such a waste of time and holding on to my money. They also claim a 5 star Trustpilot rating on their emails - more porkies.
UPDATE 16 Jan: Further to my recent review; company simply takes money and doesn't deliver. I ordered lights on 30 November and 4 December, two different orders. £452. After 14 emails and phone calls to the company - replies were polite and helpful but aimed to fob you off with a range of excuses for delays "quality control" "Christmas" "out of stock" "a backlog of orders at the warehouse" - not the customers problem..... I finally, after 6 weeks of this nonsense, to fork out even more money and buy them elsewhere (and they arrived the next day). When I emailed to cancel and ask for a refund I had a classic response that they were "ready for dispatch". All these excuses and no items - was even offered a discount on my next order. More front than Brighton! I'll never order from this company again and my experience is just as bad as others here. Awful. I doubt I'll get my refund so I've asked my credit card company to intervene.
Appalling service
Ordered a light fitting on 30/10/23 which was showing in stock on website. Had to raise a credit card dispute due to unanswered phone calls/emails and no goods delivery. Worst customer service experience ever, do not use these cowboys. Embarrassingly poor service. Order finally cancelled due to dispute on 21/12/2023.

Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful. The lampshades I ordered in June were out of stock and despite repeated promises of a refund this has still not been forthcoming. I'm a recently bereaved pensioner and can do without the appalling treatment of their customers.

I ordered this light for a Christmas present - no light, nor can I have it before Christmas because of the “backlog”. If they can’t supply their goods in the specified time they should either stop taking orders or offer the people who have been waiting a refund. It seems there is only one person working there - Connor. If I’ve not received my order or a refund by second week in January I’ll be going down the credit card route. I’ve now got to buy another Christmas present.

To conclude my dealings with Ocean Lighting: Asked for a refund after many delivery deadlines came & went with no sign of any goods this year. On a positive customer services again communicated promptly & politely re: the refund. On a negative: no refund, deadlines came & went. Thankfully I had made the purchase through PayPal & I got them to ‘step in’. PayPal refunded me :-) What I have found unhelpful here are certain posters giving conceited opinions on others experiences …keep them to yourself :-)

Non receipt of light I ordered. Repeated requests for updates resulted in my being given later dates. Eventual request for refund and weeks later I'm still getting "we are looking into it" replies. I was told on monday the refund had been made... here I am on friday and no refund has been received. Zero customer service, and only fob off replies to my emails. Next stop, credit card company to refund me for non-delivery of goods; failing that, SOLICITOR

Ordered on October 2nd. Gave up on waiting for my delivery on October 28th and asked for a refund. It is now mid December and still no refund after numerous emails. I see another reviewer had a similar experience and ended up contacting their bank. I'll have to try and do the same. Avoid this company. It's a scam.

I was informed our order could not be fulfilled within a suitable timeframe on 17th November (two weeks after the inital order) whereby the item still showed as a stocked item on the website. The alternatives offered were not suitable. We sent emails and spoke to customer service via telephone each promising a refund of over £230. We are still without a refund and as we cancelled our order order no lights either!

I hadn’t read any of the reviews before I made an order with ocean lighting, I came across their page on instagram and loved loads of the lights instantly they had posted and decided to message them.
I was sent a catalog to view & there are so many beautiful lights to choose from. I put in a big expensive order. Whilst waiting for invoice to be sent I decide to have quick nose on their reviews and I was little taken back by how many negative reviews they had received. I was worried because I had already said I’d make a big order and really wanted the lights we had chosen, so I messaged Paul direct and explained I was concerned. He never ignored my message and replied straight away explaining they had few issues but all resolved now and guaranteed my order would arrive with no delays or problems. I decided I was going to give them benefit of the doubt and go ahead & make payment to place order.!
I haven’t been one bit disappointed & so pleased I went ahead, we received our lights all in time frame they promised no damage and all our lights look stunning and more expensive than they are.
Ocean lighting have received some extremely negative and in my opinion unfair reviews. I would most definitely recommend ocean lighting to family, friends and anyone else who were looking for beautiful lights for their home. They have been nothing but helpful to us and I feel these last reviews do the company no justice. Definitely look them up on instagram don’t listen to all the negative reviews you won’t be disappointed & remember all companies face issues time to time that doesn’t mean they aren’t trustworthy.
Really happy with our lights and definitely recommend.
Unreliable
I ordered a light with an anticipated 3-10 day delivery. 2 months later I still do not have the light and after numerous emails, I find it will not be in stock for another 4 months.
I would recommend that Ocean lighting proactively keeps the customer informed when there is no stock available rather than have the customer always needing to chase up where their order is. I had to do this several times, not always getting a response and not always being given the correct information about stock.

The same as everybody else on here. No goods and no refund, coming up to 2 months now. The same bland "we will look into this for you" response email every time. It appears they don't have inventory or cashflow to stay operational. Not sure how they're still legally taking people's money.

I am experiencing similar to most people on here. Emailed chasing my order and received a reply from Connor to say the lights were being sent direct from the supplier which would be Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Just lies. Why not be honest with your customers and give them realistic lead times. I wish I would’ve ordered the lights from Housing Units which are a fantastic company and has excellent customer service. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering.
Ocean lighting appalling customer service
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. I don’t usually leave trust pilot reviews but after such an appalling service from ocean lighting, I thought I’d warn others. I bought some light fittings on the 2nd November, after paying they then emailed me to say goods would not be delivered for up to 10 days, unfortunately this wasn’t soon enough, so I cancelled my order the very next day and asked for a refund. I received an email 3 days later on 6th November from Connor stating they’ll issue a refund, and it can take up to 7-14 days to receive. So I waited, 13 days came and still no refund, so I called and they said they’ll sort it, they sent an email on 22nd to say refund sent. A week later still no refund. Called them again they said there must be a problem with my bank, called my bank and there was no problem or even an attempt to send refund. After many numerous messages/calls I finally got my refund on the 30th November, but what an arduous awful experience, having to continuously contact a company to get my money back, because they’d failed to send when they said they would, I hadn’t even received their goods.
BUYERS BEWARE.
Poor service and lack of communication
Very slow service... Ordered a pendant lamp , Waited over a month. It eventually arrived but this company really need to improve service quality. They unfortunately are not recommended due to the poor experience. Unfortunately they are not learning, many people are complaining. There is always some excuse, first it was black Friday and now Christmas is blamed. Other companies can deliver on time.
No refund after two months
I returned an item unopened to Ocean Lighting in mid-September. There had been a delay in delivery and I had purchased an alternative light fixture in the meantime. Despite many email exchanges with a sales representative over the past two months, I have still not received a refund and am seriously concerned that I will not be refunded. Avoid this company at all costs.
