I’ve use this application to send money abroad, it’s been a truly nightmare, they just don’t deduct large amount of commissions it took about 3 weeks before the money was on the recipients account after mailing many many times. There are other application that works better and the rates are more affordable than this.

Hadn't used OFX in a while and had to adjust for changes to my information, OFX procedures for a transaction more complex than in the past and new security overlays, all requiring calls to to my banks and OFX. However once that was done, funds transfer online worked like a charm with no unexpected glitches and with the progress reports that I forwarded to recipient. OFX people very helpful, including making some suggestions I hadn't thought of.

Also they can be actually reached by phone and in times you cannot reach them (becuase the lines are very busy) you can choose an option to be called back. All in all, a pleasant, safe and secure service I will keep using

I hate to give critical reviews but this has been an awful experience, and I think people should be made aware of some of the difficulties before choosing OFX.
I have accounts with two other FX companies and have no problems with them, and expected the same with OFX.
Before paying into OFX you must let them know that you intend to pay so that they can then attribute the money to your account - this seems to me to be an archaic way of doing things, when the other FX companies give you an account where money is automatically attributed to it when funds are paid into it.
I wasn't aware of this fact, and it wasn't mentioned on their publicity information when I signed up. So, I set Stripe to pay automatically into the OFX account. A total of six payments from an online course were paid. I wanted a separate account so that I could pay affiliates first.
Following around a dozen emails to OFX's support, and several phonecalls I am still unable to connect the money that has been paid to my OFX account.
Statements with payment times, references, account details and so on have all been sent. I have also included two emails from Stripe confirming that they have paid the amounts to OFX [Stripe's customer service has been excellent].
The problem here is that OFX support employees send out generic emails requesting specific details that are all in a single statement. This is not always possible, however, I did manage to supply this. Yet the answer was that "we are unable to locate that money with the information that you have sent".
A professional accountant could resolve this issue within a matter of minutes.
Speaking to support leads people to say "we have been unable to connect the money to your account" - when pressed further, they put the phone down.
I considered taking them to court but have decided to write the money off to a bad experience.
Proceed with caution.
** 11th August 23 - not heard anything from OFX. There clearly is no interest in resolving things for customers. I paid $3,600+ to them and they don't care. Not a service I can recommend.

After more the 8 years of dealing with you,I have moved to another company.
In September as normal I received my phone call asking to confirm all the details of why & where I am transferring money.
All details given and not a issue.
3 weeks later I receive another call asking for all my personal details of the phone, I informed the young lady how do you know is QFX and not a scam. I will send you a email.
Email arrived, she asked me to upload a bank statement ( never asked for before ) within 30 minutes.
Informed her it was impossible as I was not near my main computer.
The same evening I uploaded bank statements and all other documents needed.
Then I was asked for more with a running total on the statement.
My bank RBS has never done this for statements on line.
Called the bank, they told me it was not information I need to give out as I was only transferring my own money to another of my own accounts.
They do not provide statements with that information, just with a total on top which OFX has.
I contacted another company, give them details of what was needed, no bank statements needed. No further issues.
Always has been a great service, been with ofx for years now, excellent rates and no hold ups

Fast professional service. Good system, clear and easy to follow. The rate offered is a little lower than other companies but the extra is worth it for the speed and professional service. One criticism is that the service is offered 24/7 but at weekends there is no human contact. I think this should be made clear.
