Very worried…
Whole experience started in Australia and as very nice, smooth, not the fastest but reliable and with very good exchange rate so I made transfer and it was all OK…
BUT… now comes the terribly unprofessional part….
I moved to Europe as an age pensioner only a week after my transfer and changed my address and phone number but still have bank account in Australia.
I was assured by Australian office in Sydney that I will NOT have any problems when I move overseas and that my regular pension transfers will be unhindered.
Well, I was “transferred “ to European office in Ireland and was not able to make next transfer and was asked for a bunch of ID documents as if I was a new client. I provided copies of my Australian Passport, Australian Drivers Licence, Serbian Passport and Serbian ID card (both with current address). I also provided Australian bank statements for last 90 days showing origin of my money and ALREADY MADE transfer of substantial amount of money to Serbia.
To my astonishment I was constantly asked again and again to provide documents I already provided. After several email exchanges I made a phone call and spoke to a lady operator in San Francisco USA. She then checked emails and confirmed that I HAVE SENT required documents.
All I wanted to do is use my ALREADY ESTABLISHED, checked and approved and used account to regularly transfer my age pension but to this day (a month later) I still can not do transfers because my account is “under review “. Every time I sent an email I was responded to by different person and one can not contact ANY of them directly nor one can contact ANY of the managers or supervisors or ANYONE from the compliance team.
Even though I could’ve used some other company I didn’t want to do that until I get ANY concrete and final answer.
I am also worried for OFX has all my personally relevant and important document sent to OFX and in their possession yet nobody bothered to contact me.
Such a level of negligence, lack of professionalism is beyond comprehension to me.
Very, very, unhappy and still in limbo…
PS: there is another person I know with big amount of money / unable to use already used account to transfer money and almost exactly the same problem.
