The worst customer service I have ever encountered.
Unfortunately, upon unboxing the ‘cloud floor lamp’ purchased from Oka’s broadway store, I found the item had a manufacturing defect.
Admittedly, for the £445 price tag I was understandably disappointed in the lack of quality control. However my disappointment continued with what is the worst customer service I have ever received.
I called the Broadway store as soon as I had unboxed the defected item. Sadly, I received no apology for the items condition.
I was asked if I could bring the item back to the store. However I had specifically made the journey, which is over an hour each way, and didn’t want to do it again. So they said they would arrange a collection and then a replacement to be sent out.
I did not receive an apology or appreciation for the inconvenience this will have caused me. On two occasions someone will have to wait at home in order to receive the lamp I had purchased in store.
The only ‘consolation’ I received was the online delivery fee waved.
I then had to chase contact with the Broadway store’s customer services. Sarah explained that the item was no longer in stock until January so I could either wait or get a refund. I asked for a refund.
However, I then went online to see that the lamp was in-fact in stock. So I contacted the main customer services who confirmed this.
I then went back to Sarah who apologised- she had been looking at the table lamp not the floor lamp. I was grateful to receive an apology but very embarrassed on their behalf to make such a basic mistake.
She had already issued a refund- which meant it was difficult to guarantee the free delivery I was offered. She said she could send me an invoice on Shopify so I continued to proceed with the purchase. Once again, another inconvenience before receiving the refund.
Unbelievably the customer service got worse. I know, hard to believe.
Over a week later I still hadn’t heard anything about my order. So I contacted main customer services who informed me that the delivery organisation had not been put through (sigh). She apologised and then completed the order.
Absolutely terrible customer services from
Sarah at the Broadway Oka store. I would never recommend purchasing from them and I will wait to see what condition the lamp arrives in- almost one month after my initial purchase.

We were very impressed by our visit to OKA and love everything we bought. From our initial phone call through to our subsequent visits, all the staff were very helpful, particularly Sarah. The Broadway branch is amazing and we came away with lots of ideas for our home.

Our first visit to Oka was fantastic. The team in the Broadway store, especially Becca, could not have helped us more. Looking at a set of paintings, Becca guided us to a 2nd option which was 200% perfect. My husband and 11 week old puppy were cared for beautifully, especially as he has a heart condition and was battling that day. Thank you Oka team! You’ve been amazing.

I ordered the beaded napkin rings but wasn’t sure of the colour so your assistant took one out of the box so I could see it with my white napkin. Very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
