I was looking for a new car in the Omoda Basingstoke branch. James Laye assisted me, he is super knowledgeable, arranged a test drive with no hassle, kept in touch without being pushy, took the time to explain things clearly and delivered an overall great experience. Ask for James if visiting that branch he’s excellent and will listen and find what is right for you. Thank you!

Problems start occurring in 10 days only

Very disappointing experience with my new Omoda 7. I purchased the car on 27 April and from the very first day the navigation system was not working properly. The vehicle already went back to the dealership for a software update, however the issue still remains unresolved.

Now, less than a month after purchase, the car battery has completely gone flat and the vehicle became undriveable. For a brand new car, this is unacceptable.

What made the experience worse was the roadside assistance support. I contacted Omoda roadside assistance and was redirected to RAC, but RAC stated that battery support was not covered and advised me to take the vehicle to the dealer instead. The problem is that when the battery is flat, the car cannot even be driven. This leaves customers completely stuck with a brand new vehicle and no real immediate support.

A new car should provide reliability and peace of mind, but unfortunately this experience has been stressful and frustrating from the beginning. I hope Omoda improves both vehicle quality control and aftersales/roadside assistance support because customers should not be dealing with these kinds of issues within weeks of ownership.

Omoda brand

I will try focus on the car brand, Omoda. Omoda 9 Noble to be specific. So far so good. The car drives beautifully and handles well. It is really agile for a large SUV. It's got all the computer gimmicks you could possibly imagine but what I liked about this car was that it has simple knobs to operate the air con as well as the tech screen option. The infotainment system seems daunting at first play but after a 4 hour brainstorm the Sunday afternoon after picking up the car I quickly got to grips with the depth of this thing but I do have further to go. Once you start to understand the navigation then it becomes clear and useful. The drive of the car is top end. It's smooth and in electric EV drive is really quick. This car is a plug in hybrid with 90 miles electric only distance. I decided upon an hybrid after initial research to go fully electric. I am glad I went hybrid now but for those who like the electric only cars I can see already the attraction, despite HM govt dictating the future of car fuel type, it's fair to say electric is a good drive. The hybrid engine cuts in almost seemlessly once the battery reduces below approx 18% and then self charges as a hybrid would to about 22%. Works well. Rather oddly Omoda recommend the smart battery setting but haven't set that as the default setting. It's abit daft because you have to manually switch to this setting under high charge situation. Everytime you start the car this has to be set. Same goes for some other settings. You think that you have set your options, only to find that on restarting the car, all that effort has to be repeated. Example might be the automatic speed warning system. Beep beep at every point so you turn it off in settings but next time you drive it's back front and centre. Not a major problem when you consider how much car you get for your money. This car is a large SUV and feels quality and well built. It's got nice styling as well. Although it's sister product in the jaecoo branding option is trying to visually copy a range rover I think this car, though slightly doing the same in terms of big vehicle appearance, does more to stand up on its own as a nice looking car in its own image. So far so good.

Attended test drive

Attended test drive, salesmen very accommodating & knowledgeable. I decided to sit in the rear seat and let my wife drive along side the salesman. I could see the conversation between them but due to the very loud road noise (I actually looked around to see if a door or window was adjar) the salesman turned to speak to me and I said I could not hear him properly. There was also a problem with the sat nav showing 30mph in a 60mph . Not the best experience sadly as it, jaecoo 7 looks a nice car.Sorry but genuine comment.

Avoid Tunbridge Wells Branch - They will hold your money hostage

I am writing this to warn potential Omoda/Jaecoo customers about the appalling conduct of the Tunbridge Wells dealership. I have been forced to fight for SIX WEEKS to get a simple £250 deposit returned after a cancelled order.

The management at this branch has shown a total lack of professional ethics:

After being ghosted for 21 days, I was told the refund couldn't be processed because the card machine was "off" or staff "didn't have a PIN." For a new brand trying to establish a "premium" reputation, this is amateur hour.
The dealership was aware of my medical constraints preventing me from traveling. Despite this, they repeatedly tried to force a physical visit just to return my own money.
After 6 weeks of being told it was "impossible" to do remotely, the refund was magically processed exactly 20 minutes before a legal deadline I set in an email to UK Head Office.
Despite the weeks of stress and constant chasing, the Sales Controller offered no gesture of goodwill.

I actually loved the Jaecoo 7, but this experience has completely poisoned the brand for me. I will never buy a vehicle from Omoda/Jaecoo.

After having a terrible experience at the Wakefield branch, we decided to visit the Leeds dealership.

We purchased our Jaecoo 7 today from Gareth who was absolutely fantastic. Very informative, Patient and genuinely wanted to help us (unlike Wakefield!)

The whole process was quick and easy. I was torn between the Jaecoo 5 & 7. Gareth was very good at comparing figures and car specs etc so we could
Make a decision.

Very good customer care and service - thanks again Gareth. We can’t wait to collect our new car in a couple of weeks! 😁 👏 🤞

Customer support non-existent

Bought a new Omoda Noble in November 2024. Was expecting a first service reminder as is the custom with all other main dealers we have purchased from in the past (BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover etc). In March 2026 I realised we hadn't had a first service reminder and contacted them. I was told it was down to me to remember and that as a result of it being 4 months overdue the 7 yrs warranty was null and void. I asked to speak to the service manager who promised to look into it. Haven't heard a thing. The service reception team claimed that they do try to remind customers but are not obliged to do so. This dealership (Greenhous in Shrewsbury) need lessons in developing customer relations and how to manage customer expectations. The vehicle itself hasn't presented any issues (thus far) but based on my overall experience with the dealership I wouldn't consider buying another.

Shambles of a service

Shambles of a service. I went in for a test drive and at that time there was a promotion of a year's worth of free car washes promotion if you had a test drive. Went for this and said everything is okay and you will receive an email within a few days. I never received an email with my car washes, and when I call up, they say there is nothing we can do. Shambles of a service and not great customer service. Avoid this company at all costs!

Cheap car - stay away, don’t waste your money or time

Funny how their google prompted reviews are great, in comparison to reviews here. The car is junk. Cheaply made and zero customer service after you take the car. I had 7 issues with the car, post a few weeks of having it! And yet they haven’t fixed a single one of them! Stay away from this brand, it’s not worth the hassle.

A brand that takes your money and forgets you exist

We bought a Jaecoo with high hopes. It looked great, felt premium, and the sales experience was smooth. But the moment we needed support, the brand we trusted simply vanished.

Our car has been sitting in a garage since October 2025 waiting for a single replacement part. Five months on, we are no closer to getting it back. No one at Jaecoo has been able to tell us when this will be resolved.

What makes this worse is the complete lack of care. Emails go unanswered. Promises are made and broken. We have been left without a car, without a courtesy vehicle, and without any acknowledgement of the disruption this has caused to our daily lives.

We then discovered that despite Jaecoo's website claiming Motor Ombudsman accreditation, the Ombudsman themselves have no record of them. We are now pursuing this as a formal matter.

Buying a car is a significant investment. You deserve to know that if anything goes wrong, the manufacturer will stand behind their product. Jaecoo will not.

Think very carefully before you buy.

6 months without my car — zero accountability from Jaecoo UK

I have been without my car since October 2025 due to an unavailable replacement part. What should have been a straightforward repair has turned into a six-month ordeal with no end in sight.

I raised a formal complaint with Jaecoo UK in January 2026. A customer relations supervisor acknowledged it on 26 February, asked me to provide part details, which I did immediately — and then went completely silent. Multiple follow-up emails have been ignored.

I escalated to another contact within Jaecoo who had previously been helpful. He too asked for details, received them, and then also stopped responding.

During this entire period I have received no courtesy car, no compensation, and no meaningful update on when the parts will arrive.

Perhaps most concerningly, Jaecoo's website states they are accredited to The Motor Ombudsman's Service and Repair Code of Practice. When I contacted the Ombudsman to raise a formal complaint, I was told Jaecoo are not listed with them. I have since written to the Ombudsman highlighting this contradiction and am awaiting their response.

I bought a Jaecoo because I believed in the brand. That trust has been completely destroyed by the way this has been handled. If you are considering buying a Jaecoo, please think carefully about what aftersales support you will receive if something goes wrong.

This matter remains unresolved.

Massive thank you to Sam for his patience and support. Buying a new car can often be difficult with pushy sales people and not knowing what you’ve got for the price! Sam was incredible. Very knowledgable, supportive and a pleasure to deal with! Nothing was too much trouble for him! Very pleased! Thanks Luscombe!

Just picked up our 26 plate Jaecoo 7 and we love it. Massive thanks to Simon and Gareth, they made everything straightforward and seamless. Simon was very thorough and helpful explaining everything to do with the car, how it all works etc. I would recommend anyone considering Jaecoo or Omoda to come visit Luscombe's Leeds!

First class experience!!!
Having been told that Luscombe's had opened a brand new Omoda/Jaecoo dealership in Leeds, it was music to my ears due to it being very convenient and thus saving a lot of time and effort having not to drive much further afield.
Having been prompted that my Jaecoo 7 was ready for its first service, I called their service department and spoke to Andy who was extremely courteous, obliging and most helpful and made booking the appointment a pleasure.
I dropped the vehicle off this morning and was greeted by Andy, who genuinely couldn't do enough for me. It was like going back in time, due to his helpful manner and being treated like a valued customer, the way it used to be!
Later in the day I was amazed to receive a video of my vehicles service from Sam, followed up by a phone call from Andy telling me that the vehicle was ready.
On arrival, once again I was greeted by Andy, who proceeded to explain the various details of the service. Once again I was so impressed with the time and effort he spent. I needed to ask him a few technical details relating to the vehicle which he was prepared to spend even more time explaining. He then introduced me to Simon and said that he is even more knowledgeable.
Simon too, was very courteous, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. So much so, he took me for a tutorial in my vehicle which turned out to be very educational.
The whole experience was outstanding.
Thank you very much guys, it was greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
Stephen J

Extremely poor and unprofessional…

Extremely poor and unprofessional experience.

We initially wanted to arrange a test drive with Omoda Bromley (Atlas Revive), but even this proved unnecessarily difficult. Calls went unanswered, online chat received no response, and after multiple attempts over the course of two weeks, including contact forms and follow-ups…we finally managed to get something arranged as one of us went into the dealership, even then no note of our name or number was taken!
The whole process felt disorganised and inconsistent from the outset.
When I arrived for the test drive, despite being early and clearly acknowledged by several staff, and salesperson being told I’d arrived, after 20 mins I had to go over and prompt the salesperson myself. The process was very informal—no real paperwork, just a photocopy of a driving licence, which felt unusual compared to other dealerships.
After the test drive, we were presented with an offer as part of a promotion and price was fair so due to time constraints, we agreed and paid a deposit.

However, the real issue came afterwards.
Upon reviewing the paperwork, I noticed there were no terms and conditions provided, despite signing a document that explicitly stated we were agreeing to them. When I queried this, I was told by the salesperson that it was “above his pay grade” and that he couldn’t explain what the terms actually were. This is completely unacceptable when committing to purchase a £36k vehicle.
Attempts to resolve this were equally frustrating. Emails went unanswered, and requests for a manager to call back were unresponded. We ultimately had to attend the dealership in person to cancel the order and recover our deposit.
While the GM was polite and transparent, even he acknowledged that there were no agreed terms and conditions in place, and that the business was still trying to source or create them. Customers were effectively being asked to sign agreements to terms that do not exist.
This raises serious concerns about professionalism, compliance, and basic business practices. The lack of structure, communication, and legal clarity made it impossible for us to proceed.

We have since cancelled and would not recommend this dealership based on our experience.
