Enrolment was quick & painless given I only had my 30 minute lunch break to make this happen! Samantha Parker was on point & answered my question with clarity!

Ada Kwok
Ada Kwok - was excellent. She explained the whole process, gave great tips about studying and made everything clear and easily understandable. I feel very comfortable with all my decisions.
Ada was easy to talk to, and I really appreciated her time and insight.
Mel was an incredible support…
Mel was an incredible support throughout my studies. She was always approachable, encouraging, and took the time to explain things clearly whenever I needed help. Her guidance and feedback gave me confidence and helped me stay motivated from start to finish.
Since completing my qualification, I have been working as an Assistant in Nursing at an aged care facility for almost six months, and I genuinely feel that Mel’s support played a big role in helping me get there. I’m very grateful for the care and commitment she showed to my learning journey.

Great support!
Ada has been a wonderful support with my transitioning to study a Diploma of Counselling with Open Colleges. She’s responded to all of my requests with efficiency and professionalism. Her warm and pro active approach has made it exciting to embark on my new study journey!
My experience with Open Colleges.
With Open Colleges, for me I found the course quite useful and enjoyable. It is very tech savvy, but once you understand the system, then you can get through the whole process and complete your certification with ease. I must say it was great having Mel C as a mentor at Open Colleges in doing my Certificate III Individual Support Aging and Disability certification. Mel was excellent, she assisted me and guided me through the process via emails. When I had an issue with anything, I could email her and I knew that she would definitely get back to me and assist with anything I needed to do to complete the university unit tasks.
I have to say THANK YOU to Mel C. You were a god send. You helped me through the process. Without your support and guidance and assistance I wouldn't be where I am here currently without you. Thank you Open Colleges.
My experience
I had a wonderful experience with my assessor, Erika Russell. Erika was so supportive throughout my course and got back to my questions quickly via email.
She was very easy to talk to and made all my phone calls/video assignments comfortable.
I found the course content a bit strange in certain sections, some parts didn’t seem they fit within the role of Student Learning Support Officer.
I had placement at a great school but felt like there was a lot of paperwork and requirements during placement.
Also, some other institutions only require 100 hours of placement. I found the 140 hours a lot considering it’s unpaid.
Very happy to have completed everything now though so I can start my new career.
My Professional Development Journey in the AOD Sector
My organisation gave me the opportunity to study the CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs as part of my professional development. This course helped me gain specific knowledge for my role in the AOD sector.
Throughout this journey, I received strong support from my management team and my trainer, Nicola Robey. Nicola was an excellent trainer who encouraged and supported me, especially during times when I found it hard to balance my study with my work and family responsibilities. As a full-time worker, a mother to a three-year-old child, and someone managing a household and other daily roles, my schedule was very busy. Despite this, my motivation helped me stay focused and continue with my studies.
Nicola also visited my organisation during her trip to Coober Pedy. During this visit, she saw firsthand how we work with clients in a remote rural setting. The encouragement and ongoing support I received from both my organisation and my trainer played a key role in helping me successfully complete the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs.
As part of my role, I provide counselling sessions to clients. This work has motivated me to further improve my counselling knowledge and skills. Because of this, and my strong commitment to my professional growth, I have enrolled into the CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling after completing AOD course. I look forward to continuing my learning journey and hope to receive similar support from my new trainer as I work towards completing this qualification.
As an aged student i find it difficult…
As an aged student i find it difficult to find access to course workbook or to actually know what to do. There should be examples of how to answer questions and set your work out. I have been flying blind since I started. Booked in to talk with someone and they never rang.. 😠
Certificate IV in Agein Support
I recently completed my Certificate IV with Open Colleges and had a positive experience overall. The course was well structured, flexible, and easy to manage alongside work and personal commitments. The online platform was user-friendly, and the learning materials were clear and relevant. Thank you, Mel Cockburn, for your support and feedback, which were helpful throughout my studies. I would recommend Open Colleges to anyone looking for a flexible online learning option.

Helpful Customer Service, Quick and Easy Enrolment
Murry Carson was helpful by informing me of the discount I could get by enrolling before the offer expiry date. I was able to enrol with ease and quickly on the phone with Murry in 10-15 minutes and saved some money with the discount.
A great supportive team
The course was very well laid out, everything was very accessible, easy to find and to go through.
The biggest positive that I can give the course, is that of the support I received from my Assessor and the supportine, my assessor in particular was extremely, comforting and supportive and made extra time to call and work with me through issues and questions, which made the whole experience much smoother.
The reason it only gets 4 stars from me, is because I ran into a few technical issues here and there, which since have been fixed and sorted.
Open Colleges provides a fantastic…
Open Colleges provides a fantastic learning environment. The colleges community feels welcoming and inclusive making a great place to learn and grow. I would like to say my Assessor Debra Hine is amazing . She’s always ready to support making my learning journey a smooth one. Thank you for your willingness and patience. I highly recommend.
Staff great assessments not clearly defined
Certificate 3 in Horticulture
The enrollment process was easy. The teaching staff are great but some of the assessments are not very clearly defined causing stress and wanting to drop out. However the financial commitment they entangle you in is not easy to get out of. Buyer beware! I've changed my review from 5 to 3 stars for this reason.
I had a great learning experience…
I had a great learning experience studying Certificate III in Dental Assisting with Open Colleges. The course content was clear and well-structured, and the support I received throughout my studies was excellent.
I would especially like to thank my trainer, Nadine Collins, for her guidance, encouragement, and prompt feedback. She was always professional, supportive, and helpful.
I highly recommend Open Colleges to anyone looking to study dental assisting.
I would like to express my sincerest…
I would like to express my sincerest gratitude and appreciation for Erika Russell, who has been my supervisor throughout my Certificate III in School-Based Education and Support with Open Colleges. Erica has been absolutely amazing during my entire learning journey.
She has always been kind, patient, and incredibly supportive. Erika explained everything clearly, provided helpful and informative feedback, and was always approachable whenever I needed guidance or reassurance. Her gentle and encouraging manner made me feel confident and supported, even during challenging parts of the course.
Erika consistently went above and beyond to ensure I understood the requirements and felt supported in my learning. Her professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care for her students truly stood out. I am very grateful to have had her as my supervisor and could not have asked for a better experience.
Thank you, Erika, for your dedication, encouragement, and ongoing support, it has made a lasting positive impact on my learning journey.
