Item still not received and no updates

Ordered a pair of sunglasses on March 2nd for my holiday in April. Confirmation email said most glasses arrive within a week.

After more than 2 weeks and no glasses (as well as receiving 0 updates) I contacted customer services and was told to expect the glasses in 2 - 6 days....

After the 6 days passed I still had heard nothing so had to recontact Opticians Direct again. I was told the pair of glasses had needed to be reordered and therefore they will be waiting another 1 - 2 weeks for them before they even arrive at Opticians Direct....

Terrible comminication, no apology for the inconvenience caused. I would not have even been updated if I had not gone out of my way to contact them.

My holiday is approaching and now I have no idea if the glasses I ordered almost a month ago will arrive on time.

Decent

Good quality Sunglasses.

Saved around £50 buying them from Opticians direct rather than Ray Ban

They made delivery for when I needed them, however it would be good if they kept you updated slightly more.

Sour experience with returns

Sour experience with returns.
I don't think the company should so boldly claim on their page how buyers should buy with confidence and get a money-back guarantee if you don't factor in the most costly item, the lenses.

Now I've sent the return back at my own cost, I can't even get the lenses back that I've paid £80+ for without spending another £5 for postage back to me. Where was that in the advertising?

Frustrating

Save yourself the hassle and go to an in-person optician. I chose this option to save time, but the glasses weren’t quite right initially. While that’s not entirely their fault, it really highlights how important it is to have measurements like PD taken in person for accuracy.

We did eventually get there, but it required getting measurements done at a pharmacy and a lot of back and forth, which defeated the purpose of convenience.

When my glasses were returned, the case I sent with them wasn’t included. It was later sent separately but seems to have been lost in the post, which is disappointing.

Communication during the process became frustrating and unhelpful, particularly when trying to resolve the missing case issue.

As an online service, we do rely on customers to provide their prescription details and measurements, including PD, which we understand can sometimes be tricky without in-person support. That said, we were more than happy to remake your lenses not once, but twice, free of charge to ensure we got things right for you, and we’re glad we were able to reach a final outcome in the end.

Regarding your glasses case, this was not initially returned but was later sent separately. We did arrange for it to be posted back out to you, and we’re very sorry to hear it appears to have been delayed in transit with Royal Mail, I hope this has now arrived.

We also regret that our communication didn’t meet the standard you expected while resolving this, as we always aim to be as helpful and clear as possible throughout.

Didn’t ship glasses in promised time frame, rude customer service, glasses now expected two and a half months after I originally ordered instead of the promised 14 working days.

I’m sorry to hear that you feel our customer service has not been friendly—this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide.

I can see that you placed an order for Ray-Ban genuine prescription lenses in the G-15 tint and were unhappy with the darkness of the lenses upon receiving them. We did explain the relevant details during the ordering process, and as a gesture of goodwill, we arranged to send you an alternative set of lenses in the colour you had expected when completing your prescription.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer a replacement frame, as this would be considered a new order. We did arrange for the non-prescription lenses as an alternative so they could be worn with contact lenses; however, we understand this was not suitable for you as you wanted two frames and two sets of lenses.

I was super impressed

I was super impressed. I made a call and spoke to a lovely lady called Alyssa to check that the sunglasses I wanted were in stock, she kindly went to check for me and called me back very promptly. I placed my order and they arrived 1 or 2 days later, I cant remember now.
I love my new sunglasses and will deffo shop here again.
