the review system is flawed. I arranged proper pick up on time, was friendly... yet i get a negative review for no reason... marketplace is better than kijiji... I'll use other sources from now on

I had some random person leave me 1 star. We should be able to see who left the review and contest it.

I didn’t even want to give one star but I had no choice so I could leave a review. I’m so disappointed in this all. It’s like you can’t even be human anymore because everything is rated with reviews. If people want to leave bad reviews and lie there’s nothing you can do about it. For example, the other day my child was VERY sick and I had been up all night, we ended up having to take her in and the last thing on my mind was kijiji. Not because I was trying to be rude but because life happens, I was worried about my kid, I hadn’t slept and I was at the doctors with her. Boom there was a bad review even after I explained things later on when I had a chance. YET, there’s no shows ALL OF THE TIME by people. But, I don’t have to write a review, I just assume life happens and carry on. Or I ask that they message beforehand so that if they're going to be a no show, I haven’t wasted my day.

Review system is total BS, people can leave false reviews, I gave the time and address, buyer said he will be there, did not show up at the right place, left bad review. Either put a review system that people can contest like ebay or do not put a review system at all, this is basic logic.

ZERO STARS. Deleted my excellent written+presentated ads days after posting and didn't refund me the hundreds of dollars I paid to promote. Actually they sent me a refund of 1 dollar and 7 cents which is obviously their idea of a spiteful, vindictive "f***-you" joke. After finally reaching customer service I told them off and now I can never contact Kijiji customer service or use Kijiji again from my IP address. They stole hundreds of dollars from me and insulted me. Don't make the same mistake I did spending any time or money on this criminal enterprise. 🖕🖕🖕🖕

Kijiji is so fraudulent!!!!!! We cannot even go back to our own email account when we open a Kijiji email and go into KIJIJI?????????????? This is so cheap and dangerous!!!!!! WOULD NEVER EXPECT THIS FROM A COMPANY LIKE KIJIJI!!!!!!!! I must also report this to the Feds!!!!!!

My buyer went to the wrong address, then left me a bad review.

I sent my buyer a Google Maps link with my precise location. They still went to the wrong address, on the other side of town. Then, they wrote a bad review but it was 100% their mistake. I don't know how you mess up clicking a Maps link? Ive literally done 100's Kijiji transactions from this address with every single person finding it, no problem. But, that was before this new "one sided review," process

So, Kijiji, if you want to have user reviews, allow for the other side to reply.

Their review system allows users to post fraudulent reviews with no way to change it.

Reviewers are leaving untruthful reviews. No way to correct.

Kijiji scammer tried to sell me a product and wouldn’t let me test it first so I politely didn’t take it. I didn’t waste their time. We only exchanged email through Kijiji. They then left me a 1 star review. Why can’t Kijiji review our email exchange and see I did nothing wrong? But they won’t change reviews. It’s very wrong and left me not wanting g to use kijiji again

Kijiji.ca allow users to leave untruthful reviews of you in bad faith, and you can't do anything about it. Even if you have clear evidence to either support or dispute claims that an untruthful review was made against you, they refuse to remove it. And these reviews and ratings stick, you will be forever reminded of it every-time you visit your reviews page.

"To ensure the integrity of the review system, users are not able to edit or remove reviews on their own profile or someone else’s. Kijiji will also not mediate review-related disputes. User reviews reflect the opinions of individual Kijiji users and do not reflect the opinion of Kijiji." - Kijiji User Reviews Policy.

Moreover, why would anyone trust user reviews if they can't be supported or disputed by pointing out facts? Someone can leave a review of a user without allowing that user a chance of responding to it publicly...Such a system has no integrity.

Worst site ever!!! Nothing but scam responses. Been scammed twice, once with forwarding freight through MoneyGram and another time with a Fraudulent check. Caught both before it cost me, but both scammers were pressuring me. Reported to kijjii.ca but they obviously don't care that their site is used this way, as I received absolutely no response. Unbelievable!! I would recommend no one use this site, as if your honest, your likely to lose your shirt!!

I have posted on Kijiji in the past a few times and it worked quite well. I recently posted a few items and now get contacted by shady characters saying they contact me for someone else or are not currently in Calgary. One person asked me to contact his uncle which I did. The uncle wanted to pay with check which I did not agree to. Then he told me his mother would pick the item up. It's a sofabed and very heavy. If he is the uncle of the first person who contacted me, I assume the mother of the uncle would be older. Another contacted me stating he was not in town right now visiting family in California. Really, you search Kjiji while out of Country? He wanted to sent me a cheque and asked for my full name and address. I don't think so. Another one contacted me today and asked for me to email his friend who is very interested in my item. I responded that his friend can contact me. When I looked up the area code of the phone number, it was from Tennesse in the States. It is very unfortunate that this site has become so bad.
I had other similar experiences as some of the people who posted here. The most annoying question "is the itme still available" even so I put in my add if it is still posted it's available. When I respond that it is, they never get back. I had something posted for $175 and someone wanted to give me $25. I don't think so.
There are still some people who use it for it's purpose. I rencently sold something and of course people want to bargain. I expect that. This lady asked for a small price reduction that was fair. Overall 90% of the contacts I have received through my rencent adds were terrible, either cons, people who never get back after contacting you or people who want to low ball me. I don't think I will use this site again.

I posted 47 items this month on Kijiji for sale. My results?
* 2 no-shows
* 1 "is this item still available?"
* 1 lowballer that tried to get 60% off my asking price
* & a woman who attempted to get me to purchase HER item instead.

No one reads your ad. The few that DO respond won't bother to show up and the very rare cases that will make an appearance
will still try to lowball even more in person.

Fun fact: Kijiji was a flop in the U.S. and was shut down.
Kijiji.ca needs to follow suit.

This site has gone downhill so much since it's acquisition by ebay that i virtually never waste my time anymore. The odd time that I do it's guaranteed that the site is even worse than the last time I left it in disgust. Even bookmarking the locale you are interested in shopping now gets rerouted to useless distant locales, despite them already being at a preschooler's level (and not a very bright one even still) regarding locations in canada. I may return and add negative aspects about kijiji (of which there are many since it was sold) depending on this site, but suspect my time is just being wasted and personal data being mined, as is so often the case in today's messed up world. (another of kijiji's terrible traits it just so happens) lol

Kijiji is full of lonely losers that use the site for their personal contact with people... Nobody buys anything on Kijiji they just contact you with stupid questions, sellerers don't remove their sold items from the pages... I bought an item recently and followed the original posting that hasn't been removed for a month and a half even after the item was in my possesion.

Sellers are indeferent lazy, stupid, and just dont care about following through with the deal as they don't care cuz its all for free, and ALL the buyers are just ignorant tire kickers looking for give aways.

KIJIJI HAS BECOME A HUGE JOKE WITH A FALSE SENCE OF HOPE FOR PEOPLE WANTING TO BUY OR SELL ANYTHING AND SHOULD BE ELIMINATED OR AT LEAST HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE TO ELIMINATE ALL THESE DEADHEAD SELLERS!

Terrible terrible customer service experience. They will block your email account and delete your adds without any reason. Stupid company with low respect for their customers who paid so much money for them to advertise. Very unprofessional!

If you use kijiji you should probably know. This site should shut down forever!

There needs to be an option to view only personal ads from actual people!
I was looking something up and it said there were 200-something ads for what I was searching. Nope. There was actually only about 10, and the rest was all from retailers! The following is taken from their website;

That doesn't really represent what it actually is now. It's sad. I will not be using the site anymore as it is much too frustrating. Facebook is easier and at least doesn't incorporate the ads into the comments section.
