I ordered a dedicated server to host my videogame gameservers and databases. In the first 18 days, I had 6 system crashes(below OS level) and 3 network interruptions(lost connection for 5-10 seconds)). For my business this was critical. I can't even be bothered to go deeper into this, because never in my life I've had any host provide such a faulty service and fail to take responsibility and assist in that matter. After migrating away from their server, I did an identical setup on another host and I have not had any issues whatsover - no system crashes, no network interruptions, and DDoS protection actually works. I don't believe that this an isolated incident - I believe that is the general attitude and approach of the company - they are simply too big to be bothered with a single, relatively small client.
One of the main factors why I decided to use OVH was because they advertise their DDoS protection. Around a year ago, you could turn on this DDoS protection on at all times(all traffic would go through their scrubbing centres), but now they made it automatic. Automatic in the sense that their system "detects" a DDoS attack and then turns on the DDoS protection.
When it is fully working, it does it's job fine, but the problem is that it almost never "fully works". It always has a delay until their system "understands" that there is a DDoS attack, and it also takes several minutes to start working properly. It also often doesn't even detect that there is an on-going DDoS attack(this is trivial from software perspective, but they are just trying to save their resource).
Customer support is terrible. They keep throwing you around agents, it takes a lot of time and no one in that rotation is actually trying to help you - they just want to push you to the next agent.
All in all, my experience was terrible and I don't recommend anyone this hosting service. It irreversibly damaged my business and my reputation as a seller and I wish I had never used their service at all.
The service I ordered was an un-managed service, meaning that in software level, everything is my responsibility. They use it as a shield to refuse help, even though I presented evidence that my problems are not at software level.
I also requested a refund, but they denied it, because I "they couldn't verify a hardware fault". I had presented evidence for this before and it was ignored, and now they asked me for evidence again, but the service was already stopped, so I simply don't have access at this point.
TLDR:
In less than 3 weeks, I had 6 system crashes(probably due to faulty RAM or power interruption), 3 network interruptions, DDoS protection was totally inefficient because it turns on automatically and it rarely turns on when an attack is happening, customer support is very streamlined and rarely any agent actually wants to help you - most of the times you just get thrown around to multiple agents. Refund was also refused, even though the service an unusable.
P.S If you enable "Invervention", then their systems automatically detect if your server unexpectedly shuts down. After last system crash and when I had already restored the server, their technician, without any notice, shut down my server for more than an hour to "invesitage" the issue(after which I decided to stop using this service altogether). No issue was found, they restarted the server and continued as if nothing happened.
O na thrusday night
Terrible support. I have bare metal servers in OVH. When tried to reinstall one machine suddenyl OVH detected anomaly and planned some "intervention". TGhere was no details about intervention, in regards to what intervention is taken, what is purpose, etc. Zero. Server got restarted in rescue mode and that's it. Day after no update from OVH. Opened request with question what's the story. Nothing, just silence. Another day, tried to reinstall again - failure. Opened support request - 2 fays later some "support technician" just wrote message that he sees server is running certain OS and wants me to confirm that server is fine, while actually is running nothing, I can't SSH to it, can't reinstall. So, 4 days server down, technician technical competence is 0. Now probably another few days before there will be another incompetent person writing some garbage message.

My €150 client-facing VPS has been stuck in a hypervisor bootloop for 3 days, and OVH provides no support other than 'we are looking in to it'. This issue began on a Saturday, but because I am not on a $300 premium SLA plan they would not provide me support before Monday. Fine, first thing Monday I received a message saying they solved the issue, but within the hour the same start / stop cycle began. Online ticket is unresponsive, and when calling support the representative speaks in broken unclear English saying they've tried to migrate my instance to a healthy host, but it has failed twice and they are still looking in to it. After asking if at least they could promise it will be fixed today, I received a vague non-response. Now it's after closing hours and my VPS is still unavailable in a bootcycle. I have had to rent a second server to manually move my services over and have offered them to just wipe the entire system and give me a new VPS on healthy hardware seeing they seem unable to recover their own services and I cannot afford another offline day.
I chose OVH because I expected reliability, at this point I might as well have chosen a budget hosting. Their hardware failure has cost me more than a day's work and I'm not expecting any compensation under their TOS either. Here's hoping it'll be fixed tomorrow!
EDIT: It is now Wednesday, so and this has still not been solved. It has been 5 days!

Excellent contact avec Alexis du service client au travers du ticket support CS16022898.

Fast solution quick response CS15979042 Kamila D Rocks!
Expensive, slow and when I try to remove my project and services, the services don't go. So you still end up paying. Deleting does not work. Chat agent (a real person, give them that) is telling me that removing a project takes time. That was half an hour ago. I don't know how this platform is still in the market with these slow processing. Too bad. I wanted a European provider. Now trying Scaleway. First impressions: much better.
July 1st, 2026 update: OVH now even invoices me for the services in free test period... They finaly managed to delete the services after ping-pong with their misunderstanding helpdesk. And now this! What is wrong with them?!

**Unreliable VPS service — recurring access problems every week**
I have been experiencing serious reliability issues with my OVH Cloud VPS for several weeks.
The VPS regularly becomes inaccessible. Whether I try to connect through KVM or RDP, it gets stuck at the Windows login screen saying **“Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to log in.”** After sending Ctrl+Alt+Delete, it remains stuck with a spinning loading animation and never reaches the actual login screen.
This has become a weekly problem, not an isolated incident.
Support’s advice has mainly been to restart the VPS. But every time I restart it, I lose application settings and have to configure my system again. This is extremely frustrating and completely unsuitable for business use.
A VPS should be stable and accessible. Instead, I am dealing with repeated downtime, forced restarts, lost configuration, and wasted time every week.
This is bad for business and very disappointing from OVH Cloud. The issue needs proper investigation, not just repeated advice to restart the server.
Very nice and efficient help from chat hotline even at night from France (but in English, on another helpdesk I think).
Francisco helped me on case number CS15827354
He investigated and took time to explain, but need to send an investigation.
Thank you !
--------- Follow Up - Edit of June 4th 2026-----------
Second and final part of incident ticket CS15827354 at OVH.
Geoffrey from the OVH France team then took over the case.
Very friendly and professional.
It was a ‘minor’ issue with shared hosting.
But it was both commercial and technical:
- Certain renewal features were blocked.
- The transfer of roles between different accounts within the same OVH service was blocked, whether active (or not)
Failing to resolve it would have forced me to sign up for a new hosting plan, reconfigure everything, and rebuild the entire website and services.
The solution took a few days to be found, involving tests on my part and theirs.
Geoffrey and his team finally found a way to resolve this issue both technically and commercially.
Well done for this follow-up of the case incident and commitment to customer service.
Thank you!

We’d like to thank the team for the support provided under ticket CS15776646.
From the beginning, the communication was clear and the team was responsive and easy to work with, which made a big difference.
Beyond just resolving the issue, we really appreciated how our situation was handled. The fact that our long-term relationship as a customer was taken into account, and that this helped reduce the potential financial impact, didn’t go unnoticed.
To be honest, this kind of flexibility and understanding isn’t something we usually see across other public cloud providers, so it really stood out to us.
Merci à Laurent de OVH de m' avoir accordé un geste commercial 👍

I’ve been with them for 5 years and haven’t experienced any system downtime, and the few support tickets I’ve opened have been resolved (albeit slowly), though you have to keep pushing them to get the right solution.

I had a server issues frequest drop/timeout on my baremetal dedicated game server using as TeamSpeak 3. I then opened ticket and there was a commitment on it for like a year . Since it was frequent problem due to the drop/timeout issues on Teamspeak 3 the support team turn on to claim department and they were quick enough to provide me appropriate solution which is cancellation of the faulty server and free 2 months renewal for another dedicated server. This was a generous offer by OVH Cloud. No matter any hosting you want this guys are on top of it and i recommend them for your game hosting they do have top notch anti ddos protection. My ticket related (CS13499246) has been resolved and i highly thank to the OVH support team and the claim department for this quick solution.

The support people probably don't speak English, and the system can translate for them. When I wrote to them about the payment, they misunderstood. My service was suspended due to the misunderstanding, and then I'll drink the juice. The answer to everything is that they are sorry. I wrote about the payment not as a private person, but as a businessman... For this, the support issues a partial invoice because they don't understand my request. I believe that I have a French background, so the support team is also in France, but English knowledge is basic.
I've used OVH for almost 2 years with absolutely no issues. A while ago I couldn't continue paying for the service while my commitment period was still active and, after reaching out to support, they've been more than fair and allowed me to cancel the service as it was my 2nd year of commitment. The whole process took less than a day! Thank you again for your amazing support! (CS15561921)

I’ve had a very positive experience with OVH. I use their services for VPS infrastructure and my experience has been excellent. Stability, performance, and network reliability have all been at a high level.
What impressed me the most was the support. During a server migration and with several technical questions, I received fast, knowledgeable, and professional assistance. Communication was clear, and the support provided was efficient.
The platform offers strong management capabilities and is well suited for real projects, not only basic needs. I’m very satisfied with the overall experience and would confidently recommend OVH.
