Refusing to refund me!

My booking was cancelled for unexplained reasons a few weeks before my stay in London and despite me sending several emails and phoning multiple numbers, OYO are refusing to refund me, I even did as they demanded and sent 'proof' - a bank screenshot of the money being sent to themselves. They are now gaslighting me by sending me 'sorry you cancelled' emails. I DIDN"T CANCEL and I want my £173 back. 6/11/2025 Have passed my details to OYO's escalation team and am waiting in hope for my refund. 7/11/2025 Received this email from OYO. After thoroughly reviewing the transaction, we have confirmed that the payment was unsuccessful, and no amount has been charged for this reservation.
8/11/2025 Got a phone call from OYO telling me my booking is confirmed??? Informed them they had cancelled my booking and I'd to book a new hotel and was waiting for a refund. 12/11/2025 Have raised a dispute with my bank who agree that £173 has been taken from my account.

Absolutly disgusting service

Absolutly disgusting service, the booking was cancelled due to the hotel being overbooked. Oyo sent me an e mail on 2nd Oct 25 saying I would recieve a refund within 7 to 14 business days, had to contact them 3 times and each time they said someone would get back to me within 24 to 48 hours to let me know the situation. It's now 29th Oct, and still no word from oyo and no refund. Why is this taking so long, there word doesn't mean a thing !

DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!

Hotel cancelled my room with plenty of time, but OYO refuse to issue a refund.
Told me I hadn't raised any issues when I apparently stayed at a completely different hotel, on a past date unspecified and therefore wasn't getting a refund.

I tried to email them back on the email they sent me, but got one back saying to ticket was closed and to start a new email, despite them saying reply to the original one.

I have sent a new email but as yet no reply.

It took a review on here to finally get my money back. It shouldn't have to take this course of action.

CAN SOMEONE JUST HELP PLEASE

Booked a hotel online, absolutely no issues. Lovely hotel. Easy process. However I've been requesting an invoice for the booking for three weeks and keep getting ignored. I just need an invoice. I've called the main OYO line and they said to call the hotel. The hotel won't answer the phone. I've emailed the customer service team, bookings, complaints... Bookings won't reply nor can they help on the phone. Complaints emailed back and said they are the India team and can't help. I asked for the UK team email address and they won't come back to me. I wrote a review and someone replied saying they'd look into it. Shock, heard nothing back. Seriously, I just need an invoice emailed to me. Please just send me a copy of the invoice. Cancelled the booking took 6 months

Cancelled the booking. Didn't receive a refund.
Had to chase for refund which then took a further 10 days
Now recieving messages on WhatsApp at 6AM and Midnight to say looking forward to your stay with us, please make payment
Rang to confirm I had cancelled it, and received a refund
Gentleman on the phone was frustrated that I hadn't received a refund because I hadn't paid and that I needed to pay it today
Eventually explained that I just wanted to cancel which took much longer then expected
Still don't know if it's cancelled, let's find out.

Shame

The room I got was completely different from the pictures. The listing showed a private bathroom, but the room they gave me had a shared external one — something never mentioned on the booking page.

The heater didn’t work, the window couldn’t be closed properly, and it was so cold and noisy that it felt like sleeping on the street.

When I contacted OYO support, they kept repeating the same robotic message: “We have escalated your concern to the relevant team.” Spoiler: nothing ever happened.

If this is how OYO “cares” about customers, maybe they should stop expanding and start fixing their system. It’s 2025, not 1995 — at least pretend to read messages before copying and pasting replies.

Avoid OYO if you value honesty, warmth, or a working heater.

DO NOT BOOK WITH OYO ROOMS STRANDED IN Blackpool…

I am currently stranded in Blackpool outside a hotel that I booked for my children to compete in a dancing competition this weekend. have been repeatedly asked to be patient by OYO staff whilst they investigate , when asked how long and when can get refund told could be 24-48 hours no help at all at least 50 other people stood in the rain with children with no where to go PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH OYO ROOMS NO-ONE IS THERE TO HELP AND LEFT FAMILIES STRANDED.

Greyhound Inn, Chalfont St Peter

We stayed in the Greyhound Inn in Chalfont St Peter. No breakfast provided despite the reviews indicating that they did. We booked two rooms for two nights. The rooms were basic. Neither TV worked, only one shower worked, half the lights didn't work, the kettle provided had to be stood on thr floor as the power lead wasn't long enough. We only stayed one night, couldn't face a second night there. Only plus, the restaurant food was good. Hence one star, otherwise zero stars.

Absolutely disgraceful

All emails are 'undeliverable' I DO NOT have a booking ID as Groupon booked it all, the dates of the stay, the cost, the traveler...everything! Even took the payment and sent the confirmation email. I've sent these countless times to every email I can find but all don't get delivered. So I can't chat with agent or email...how will this ever be resolved?

Absolutely disgraceful! Avoid OYO at all costs!

Parents purchased a holiday, first one in a number of years, to Cornwall. Was purchased through Groupon. Reviews were glowing for the hotel. Booked well in advanced. They arrive to find they would not get what they paid for, an ocean view deluxe room was purchased for 4 nights, they were put in the back of the hotel in a standard double room.
They also found out that they had to pay for parking....something not disclosed at time of booking.
I have been chasing any sign of customer service and a partial refund for the sheer let down of what should have been the perfect holiday since August 2025.
It is now October 2025 and nothing! No sorry! No refund! Not even an understanding email.
Absolutely disgusted and citizens advice and trading standards are being contacted

Obviously doesn't want to listen to or deal with complaints so closes email address instead.

Have a Groupon reference number but not a booking reference number as it was all booked through Groupon. Happy to forward emails or anything else needed to resolve this situation .

Have forwarded my complaint and emails to email address on this profile and it bounced back. I've not heard anything since I posted this review. Yet more disappointment and dissatisfaction

My booking was cancelled without my approval, but no refund offered, a month before the stay!

Booked via their online system. Got an incomplete confirmation. Chased it and received a proper confirmation via their chat assistant. Hotel then cancelled my booking out of the blue, offering no refund. Honestly, I could cry!

Update - after several phone calls they assure me that a refund is on its way - let's see if it transpires!

Update, refund has now arrived. Quite a stressful experience, but glad it's now resolved. Thank you.

Would give 0 if I could.

Stayed at an OYO hotel, had an absolutely horrible experience. The hotel was in disgusting condition, staff were incredibly rude, the room was filthy and facilities weren't working. We checked out early and complained/wrote a review for the hotel.

OYO left a reply on our review saying they would offer us a refund and to email them. I emailed them then, and never heard back. I have contact them via X and only gotten automated replies telling me it's being looked at but it has now been an entire MONTH since my stay at this horrid hotel and I have not had any compensation or even response to my complaint.

Do not use OYO to book and if your hotel is being run by OYO be cautious. Terrible company to deal with and I have hated every moment.

Edit: refused refund despite sending pictures, leaving early from the hotel and telling them of issues etc. don’t use this company

Terrible experience with OYO n.3 in…

Terrible experience with OYO n.3 in Bath. We booked the hotel for December 2025 which was confirmed and the proceeded to book activities! However we received an email in September saying it had been cancelled and we would get a refund. Now in October and still waiting ( frustrated because it’s almost £300) however the reason we are really mad is because it says “unexpected circumstances) however the hotel is still fully open and booked and rooms now start at £690.
Just money making schemes.
Avoid at all costs
Not helpful on the phone… just saying the refund should be 7-14 working days.

Fake pictures of room and bathroom shown

I will definitely never use OYO again.
There was so much wrong that I don’t know where to begin.
No daylight in the room and no fresh air, as outside door was locked with curtain across. It led onto a messy back porch, so curtain had to be kept closed.
Ultra thin mattress and 1 thin pillow so the wooden base of the bed dug into me. I used my jacket as second pillow so I could try to sleep.
No way to turn on the heating on the cold morning I was there.
Tiny, dirty bathroom. Shower had hairs on dirty non-slip mat etc Totally different to pictures online.
No towels provided at all.
Peeling wallpaper.
No one at reception at any time.
Unmarked step down in corridor to room and grey carpet, so I tripped and almost fell. Then another, unmarked step up into the room. Bizarre layout- was it originally a store room?
If I had not gone there to visit family and have access to their shower, and been able to borrow a hand towel to dry my hands, I could not have stayed. I would have left. I wish there was a minus star.

Disgusting

Disgusting! My husband arrived at the hotel at 11pm and the hotel was closed. On the door there was written that the check in is till 9pm. How are we supposed to know that? There was nothing written on the website, nor on the guest policies. Nowhere, and I kept screenshots just in case someone dares to change it. My husband ended up stranded in the middle of nowhere. We tried calling through a normal phone call and WhatsApp but nothing. Luckily I managed to get through a Premier Inn and the receptionist went out of her way to help me find an accommodation since the specific one we called was fully booked.

UPDATE: After a number of telephone calls with OYO and emails, OYO decided NOT TO REIMBURSE FOR THEIR OWN MISTAKE as the owner did not want to pay us back. When we had first communicated with him the day after my husband was supposed to sleep there, he actually said that he did not have our booking. And now he doesn't want to give us our money back.

If I could give 0 stars I would, I booked my hotel in June to stay in folkstone on the 28th of August, ON THE DAY I get an email to tell me that oyo no longer owned the hotel and rebook with the new hotel then to call oyo for a refund. I called OYO on the 28th of August to request a refund, I was told that I would have it in 48 hours, then 48 hours pass and still no refund, I then give them 5 extra days leaving it a week from original request, I then call and am told to allow a further 14 days to receive the refund, them 14 days pass, shock horror no refund, I call on the day to see what’s going on only to be told that there was a ‘technical issue’ and to allow yet another 14 days with the 2nd of October being the very latest I would receive it. It is currently the 2nd of October, I have called OYO to find out what is happening and they’re now asking for another 14 days to give me the refund. Not once have I been able to speak to a supervisor or anyone of any seniority, I have sent emails which have been ignored, it’s beyond a joke and they don’t seem to be willing to issue my refund for a hotel which they sold off months ago!

Update 20/10/25;
I’ve called again, yet again they are asking for more time, they’re escalating the complaint again, yet again the supervisor is unavailable to take the call and the operator is refusing to put me through to them again, still no closer to a refund.

Update:
The saga continues, I had a phone call on the 28th of October telling me that my refund had now finally been processed (after two months) and that it would definitely be in my account in 14 days, it has now been over a month and shock horror, it still isn’t in my account, the constant lies from this company are beyond belief.

New year and yet still no refund, this company has made zero efforts to contact me regarding this refund that they have allegedly authorised.

AVOID OYO HOTELS LIKE THE PLAGUE

We stayed at the OYO hotel in Reigate and it’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I should have realised when booking, as the guy was so pushy in getting me to pay for the reservation right away. On arrival there was a bistro table outside reception on the patio area with old food and beer cans. Then on entering our room we were disappointed to say the least. The room was in a sad state of repair with flaky walls and stained carpets. The bathroom was grotty with more flaking peeling paint, floor tiles that looked unclean, and a stained toilet that had never seen a bottle of bleach in its lifetime. We had a balcony, but again more peeling paint on the railings and overhead. It was also covered in leaves and bird poo. We are touring in a motorhome and wanted a nice relaxing couple of hotel days, and had been driving for a long time, otherwise we would have left there and then. At least the bedding seemed clean so we went to bed. Unfortunately we quickly discovered that the mattress was lumpy with springs that dug into every bone and was really noisy with every move. We were both drifting in and out of sleep and really exhausted. When we were still awake at 4am we discussed getting into the motorhome but decided we’d stick it out until morning and change rooms or leave. The next morning we changed rooms. On opening a drawer to put our clothes in we discovered beer cans. There was also one under the dressing table which says how thoroughly they cleaned. We were tempted to just leave but were out most of the day and meeting friends that evening for a meal so we stuck it out. The bed in the second room was more comfortable so at least we slept. The patio was a bit cleaner, but had a plant on it that grew beer cans! This hotels decor is in a bad state of repair and I’d certainly never stay at an OYO again. The outlook of the hotel was just scruffy with grass not mowed and yet more beer cans. The second room had chunks of plaster missing and wires hanging out of sockets. Awful is an understatement. As if that wasn’t enough, on moving rooms I discovered I’d left a bag of clothes behind in the other room containing a Zara top and an expensive bravissimo bra and knickers. I contacted reception and the lady said she’d call the cleaner. She didn’t bother calling me back and when I followed it up I was told there was no bag of clothes there! Basically OYO stole my clothes. When I left there was no manager. I was given a slip of paper by the receptionist with an email address to complain about everything . When I got into the motorhome home I discovered the email address was for reception! I’ve since read reviews. (If only I’d seen these before!) I’m not holding my breath so want everyone that reads this to take note. The Reigate hotel is disgusting, and so are the others in the chain according to reviews so AVOID!

IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION RE: MY BOOKING DETAILS- YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN THESE MULTIPLE TIMES AND OBVIOUSLY HAVE MY DETAILS AND COMPLAINT AS YOU’VE CALLED ME TWICE. TOU ARE BEYOND AWFUL AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF REIMBURSING ME FOR OUR AWFUL STAY AND MY STOLEN CLOTHES. I BELIEVE IN KARMA AND IM TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW, AND EVERYONE I MEET ABOUT YOUR AWFUL HOTELS!!!

Please do not use unless you can afford to lose your money!

Like many others I have been conned by OYO. Booked on the 4th Sept and realized they changed the booking so cancelled within 10 mins. Phoned the hotel to be told the booking was with OYO. Have now been pursuing them for a refund and keep getting fobbed off. Promised emails that never appear, promised on 4 occasions my case was being escalated, however 4th person claimed there was nothing on the system and he was first to escalate the case.
Tried phone calls, emails and self service system and going round in circles.
Definitely would be giving 0 rating if available.

OYO Guest House in Newquay

A really friendly and welcoming Guest House. The place was managed really well and all staff were so helpful and polite. I will definitely be using this Guest House again. Also value for money makes this an easy decision to go back.

Disgusting

Disgusting! Booked the Ivy Hotel in Skegness for a two night stay on 04/09/2025 and left straight away after seeing the room. Absolutely appalling. Has to be the worst excuse of a hotel I've ever experienced. Photos online are nothing like the actual rooms. The place is filthy. No facilities and no staff on site after 8pm. I’ve since sent repeated emails to their escalations email with supporting photos but not had a single reply. Appalling company. **Update to review** In reply to OYO’s response my booking ID was PZAD1306. How am I supposed to contact you when you don’t provide any contact details! **2nd Update to review (02/10/25)** Absolute bullshit from OYO Hotels. I sent them my details and no response. They only replied for the sake of a negative review on TrustPilot. I’ve emailed again on five further occasions. Absolute scumbags. This company is criminal.
