Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 35 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers praise the service for its efficiency, finding the booking process easy and the collection and delivery reliable and on time. People appreciate the good pricing and the provision of bike boxes and packing materials, which simplifies the preparation process. Reviewers often highlight the use of APC couriers as a positive aspect, noting the careful handling of goods. However, some customers also noted significant issues with delayed collections and deliveries, with some parcels taking much longer than expected. There are complaints about drivers not attempting collection, vans being full, and difficulties in contacting customer service, as the company uses third-party transporters. A few other people also felt that there were unexpected charges for oversized parcels or additional fees for rebooking, leading to dissatisfaction and a perception of poor value.

Paisley Freight advertise bicycle shipping so I would say it's reasonable to assume that a standard bike box used to ship bikes would be within their maximum size. It isn't. I got charged an extra £20... See more

Reported to Trading Standards.

Sent a pair of skis via Paisley Freight for £18.90 and then demanded an extra £25 which I had to pay before they would deliver the skis. They have since re-paid me the £25 but only after I managed my client to send photos of the skis against a tape measure. No evidence provided by PF that the skis were oversized. So sent them the following message:

I have reported Paisley Freight to Trading Standards this morning.
========================
The reasons for taking action include:

1. Demanding money from customer while providing no proof of wrong-doing;
2. Breaking agreed contract;
3. Confused sizing information (offered a ski carrier service claiming an average size ski could not be carried);
4. Unable / unwilling to look at a simple photo next to a table-tennis table of known size to recognize the item is not 5.6 times the volume claimed.
5. Insisted we send measurements from the recipient of the parcel;
Most customers would not be able to organise measuring a parcel at the destination;
Each time this happens, Paisley freight makes a profit from a claim they cannot substantiate against the customer.

These business practises are shady at best and at worst, are regularly extorting money from innocent customers.
====================

If you use this business, I suggest you photograph your item next to a tape measure before sending it and maybe let them know you have done this.

Paul (Hove).

Really poor

Really poor! Parcel arrived with two massive holes in it, clearly ripped open. Massive dent on the box. Looks like it had been dropped or kicked. Contains an expensive bike.
APC were used as an outsourced delivery service.

Sloppy to Sleek

Things didn’t start so well we had issues with shipments being missed and not being able to contact paisley freight to having to pay twice for things to be collected. After a bad start paisley freight have impressed me and turned my experience around with - better communication times, being easier to deal with better web facilities and more keep up the good work.

Do not use

Do not use, absolute joke. First the driver couldn’t be bothered to walk into the building to collect my parcel, instead he took a picture from the outside and marked the consignment as not ready. Of course I then had to pay extra £9.99 for another collection. Driver turns up the next day to collect but has not got enough room in his van so leaves it to collect later. Once eventually collected I then get an email saying my delivery has been unexpectedly delayed with no date for delivery and now the tracking has stopped working so I can’t even check what is happening. So much for next day delivery and this is a £63 service for some wheels. I’m now on day 4 and can’t ever track my parcel. Unbelievable.

The price was good. I booked a collection for a Wednesday, it was collected as planned and was with me the next day hundreds of miles away. Great service.

Paisley Freight are not a "specialist…

Paisley Freight are not a "specialist alloy wheel courier" as they claim - they simply out source the complete delivery to a company called APC who are a general courier company (wheels are split into 4 separate shipments and go through APC's standard parcel system, with insurance which is included in the premium cost completely invalid unless fully boxed). They claimed to have attempted pickup but didn't ring my door bell or knock on the door (I have dogs so I know when someone calls) and then Paisley charged me a £10 fee to re-book the pickup. They are the only courier company to charge for this!!! edit: looking further down the reviews it would seem this is a very common theme

Seriously regret using Paisley Freight

Booked a bicycle collection for 13th December. No attempt to collect was made.
14th December no attempt. Emailed Paisley Freight to query and they stated that no collection attempt was made and that it would be collected the following day.
15th December ,emailed in the morning asking Paisley Freight to confirm collection , they replied stating that it would be collected today. No attempt to collect was made on this day.
16th December no attempt to collect.
18th December , emailed Paisley Freight who replied stating that an attempt was made on 14th. I then contacted their collection partner APC. APC said collection was attempted however the driver did not have his scanner on his that day and could not provide any photo or location evidence of attempted collection.

I am still waiting for this collection to happen, Paisley Freight dont seem to know what is going on according to their email correspondence and timeline. I entered into an agreement with them to collect on the 13th, now sitting on the 18th and still nothing.

Further to this, their telephone number just goes to voicemail stating that they only do email support. I seriously regret using Paisley Freight and would advise everyone to avoid. Terrible service, terrible customer service and resolution experience. I will be requesting a refund through Paypal is service is not rendered today.

UPDATE - After posting my review Paisley kicked into gear and got the collection done the next day and the delivery the following day. Attitude still not great however and a pity I had to go to these lengths to get acceptable service. Changed from 1-3 stars.

Ticks all the boxes for sending vehicle wheels.

Tried them when the ParcelForce quote form would not work. Just ticks all the boxes for sending wheels which are notoriously tricky with other providers, and takes some stress out of the process. Online portal is intuitive and reliable. APC drivers are in my experience always helpful. Collected when they said it would be, delivered when they said it would be and customer is happy - what more do could you ask for. Will be using Paisley again in future.
