Just what the doctor ordered

I travel to Ecuador every two years, to visit my sister. I actually lost my last Panama hat while spending a week in the Amazon jungle, just Pryor to my flight back to the States. I was going to replace it my next trip. However Covid interrupted my plans, and not able to make my regular trip last January. So I decided to see what I could find online. And was surprised to find this company, and the fact that their prices are equivalent to the hats I normally shop for in Monte Cristi Ecuador.
Bottom line, I received a very good quality Panama hat, "exactly the grade, style and fit". Not to mention, right after I ordered my Panama hat. I was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer on my forehead. So I will definitely be wearing my new hat all the time now. If I ever loose this one I will definitely order another one from this company. Very well pleased

I bought two hats recently and they were exactly what I hoped for and expected. Except they were too big. FYI I wear a 7 3/8 in American hats which equates to 58 here, not 60 like I ordered. So I returned them and they replace them and now I have exactly what I envisioned. The return and exchange requires patience. All in all, I’m satisfied and will be back again. James W. - Dallas TX

Excellent Quality & craftsmanship, fits perfect

First off you can trust Panama Hat Mall. Excellent Quality & craftsmanship. I went by the sizing instructions and it fits perfect! I couldn’t be happier with the quality, color and fit.

None of the emails or phone numbers on the site works.
Somebody on the reviews posted a working email. - cs@panamahatmall dot com

They responded very quickly and insured me that my hat was being handmade and it would be delivered shortly. Overall it took three weeks to get. Which is not bad considering the pandemic and it’s coming from Ecuador to New York.

It took a while to get my hat

It took a while to get my hat, over 3 weeks, however, while it is not my first 'hayhat", it is simply the best, out of the box hat I have ever bought. Time will tell how it holds up. Perfect fit, light weight, very comfortable to wear. I simply stand straighter when I wear it.

I have been trying for weeks to reach…

I have been trying for weeks to reach someone about a return. This is bad business practice. Can't reach by phone not working and the second one just rings. Have emailed over 10 times and just the 48 hours we will contact you but they never do. No one called me. You replied to me but never followed through on what you wrote.

Excellent Experience

Excellent Experience. Very satisfied. Hat was exactly as described. Good fit and excellent quality. Wore it on vacation and received a lot of compliments. It got a little wet in a sudden downpour, but dried and maintained its shape well. Would definitely get another hat here.

Do Your Research and Be Prepared To Spend Extra Money

I had read other reviews from people who had shipping and quality issues after purchasing Panama hats from this and other websites. So, I did some research before ordering and found out that the best way to store and protect a genuine Panama hat is in a balsa wood box. Thus, I ordered the Colonial and Fedora two-hat special deal which included two additional hat bands and a small hand-painted hat box which is for a rollable hat. Additionally, I also ordered a full-size wooden hat box in
which the hats were shipped. The hats arrived in excellent shape and both fit well. I feel like this was an excellent deal for the money.

I should have thread the reviews before…

I should have thread the reviews before ordering. Placed order 5/31. Of course my account was immediately charged. Have been trying for 2 days to check the order status. When I enter the order number I get a massage stating I have entered the wrong number. Chat disappeared after I asked to check the status of the order and was told “she will check into it”. Neither number on website works. No answer to email. Have I been scammed?

The wait

I ordered 4 hats and it took nearly two months to receive. The lady explained they were made to order and by hand so be patient. Not my strong suit but she was right.) The hats are very good quality and all fit perfect . It was worth the wait!

Beret was formed off center, bad QC

The beret I purchased is a stylish hat that looks great on me. Shipping time was reasonable, considering the international distance it had to travel.
The review would have been 5 stars it not for a major flaw. The hat was shaped incorrectly, approximately 30 degrees off center. This makes the edge of the brim an inch in front of the ear on one side and am inch behind the ear on the other. This makes the hat technically basically a factory second that should have never made it past QC.
The time, distance and cost of international shipping makes returning it senseless. Lesson learned.

Hats run large and they won't exchange them

My daughter bought me a hat from Panama Hat Mall for my birthday and even though I used the measurement guide they provided, the hat was too large. She also bought one for my son-in-law and it too was too large. Because it was after their stringent 10 day exchange/return policy, they would not exchange my hat, but offered me a 10% discount on a new one. Shameful customer service.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! I ordered a hat and it arrived, it was too large. Instead of a return they offered me another hat at a discount which I agreed to. A few weeks later with the hat as status "in transit", I spoke to FedEx and they I formed me they had the box in their center in Atlanta, but that it was empty! That's when the nightmare started! They have been ghosting me since and FedEx says they have to speak to FedEx. None of the phone numbers work! The Ecuadorian numbers return a "number does not exist" and the US number is the same. If I don't hear back from them I'll have to raise a scam alert with my credit card company!

I received the Colonial hat in damaged condition on April 1. Panama hat mall did not put any cover for the hat and put it just into a thin cardboard which was damaged during delivey. Totally disappointing why they do not use a stable hatbox.

Still waiting for response from customer service.

Hope to get a new one free of charge.

Ich habe am 1. April einen demolierten Hut bekommen. Der Hut wurde einfach in eine dünne Schachtel gepackt und auf dem Weg von Quito nach Miami, von dort nach Memphis, von da nach Paris, von dort nach Köln, von dort nach Kelsterbach und zu mir passiert eben das, was der Kunde nicht möchte. Eine kaputte Packung mit einem kaputten Hut.

Warum verschickt man den Hut auf so eine lange Reise nicht in einer stabilen Hutschachtel für wenige Euros mehr?

Warte auf Antwort und Ersatz von Panamahatmail.

Wenn alles schnell und gut läuft, vergebe ich 5 Sterne.

This shop is trying Scam me

I have ordered 31 Jan, this shop did not respone or ship any thing. 16 days later, I have to open a dispute at paypal then they send me a offer refund me back $100/$914.80 on Feb 24, I have delined because they ship nothing, did not answer my call or my email. Refund me 100$ of $914.8 I have paid for nothing? Bad services ever and trying steal from me. I keep all the evidents, all the captures of email and paypal dispute!

Not delivered yet

I live in Brazil and bought a hat for my father 3 weeks ago (order number 295095). First of all, the website told the delivery would be free of charge, but when I was checking out I had to pay 61 reais (around USD 12) for "airmail". Second of all, I was informed it would take 13 to 15 days to be delivered, but I didn't received it yet, neither any information about it. I call the support but nobody answers me. Please let me know at what step are we in this process.
