SouthView - Skegness. We went for a 4 night stay in a lodge on the Parkdean SouthView complex. The accommodation was excellent, very clean with all the amenities you would expect. The park was very clean throughout, our stay was still in lockdown so nothing really available to do but we knew this before going. Lots of walk routes around the area, the beach was a 3 mile walk but well worth it, the beach is very clean and lovely sand. I would go back again.

I have been holidaying with Parkdean in Scratby and Yarmouth for over 5 years, some years I would go multiple times. Sadly I have decided to go elsewhere after our last holiday 3 weeks ago. I left a positive review on the Tuesday for their restaurant as staff working there were lovely sadly the rest of the holiday wasn't so good. When we arrived at the caravan it had been cleaned but I aleays go around everywhere with cleaning wipes and there were small food marks missed and a hair in the shower, not a big deal as I go over everything anyway and it was clear someone had attempted to clean however what was a big deal is our heating was temperamental from the bigging. We had assumed it was us not knowing what we were doing. The TV also didn't work at all! This was annoying but we had activities planned each day so decided to just get on with it as was planning on being out as much as possible. We were also placed right outside some construction work being carried out and although legal being woken up by drilling at 8am isnt what you want on holiday especially as your partner works in construction. On the 3rd night we arrived back to the caravan after being at the restuarant again (could do with some outdoor heating) where I jumped in the shower to find it was freezing cold! I went to find security where someone came out and explained the reason for our temperamental heating and freezing cold water would be nobody had connected the gas outside the caravan? Heating and water kicked in but then heating went back out within 10mins so went back to find security where they arrived and entered the caravan with no mask and no warning they had no mask, why are we keeping to restrictions but staff aren't? We want to be safe too. Anyway was told heating was fixed and could hear the boiler kicking in however it wasn't fixed! This time we called to complain but as it was late and was fed up we bundled the children together to keep us warm and left it. The day we left there were many friendly maintenance people arriving trying to rectify the problem however we were minutes from leaving the site. We were told qe would get a call around 7 that night to discuss what they going to offer.for the inconvenience, we didn't get the call. I chased them up the following week, I had a call from another park stating lady who's dealing with it is poorly and will call tomorrow, she didn't so waited till the Saturday and chased them up and was told she had been off all week, fair enough but im sure there are other staff who would be willing to get the matter resolved as quick as possible. Anyway the lady was polite and in the end I was left with 3 options. A upgraded caravan for when we come back in October, £19 refunded back from our holiday or a £25 voucher for food or drink. Given the fact we have holiday with them for 5 years and our loyal customers that use their facilities and have recommended them over the years and this was all they could offer we decided to take the £19 back and now cancelled our holiday in October with them. It's a shame there wasn't much loyalty and appreciation for thwir customers. This was our break away, I have children with SEN and we were looking for some resbite not a shambles. We will continue to visit Scratby as love the location, the beach, the locals and buisnesses however we shall now stay down the road at Haven. My advice would be to look after your customers better particularly thoses who stayed loyal to you over the years.

I am beyond speechless. As a caravan owner, who has paid site fees yet not been allowed the privilege of going to my caravan this past year, except since 12th April. I made my first visit this past weekend, and found that come what may I could not turn the water on at the stop tap (this despite getting down on my arthritic knee - I am 64) and struggling. This since I had some caravan repairs done during lockdown, someone has obviously turned the water off very enthusiastically. I phoned the office and asked if one of the maintenance team (whose wages are paid within the site fees) could help me turn the tap back on. The maintenance man came out (2 min drive from the office) and a couple of minutes job, making no mention of any charges (around 7 minutes total time). This morning I received a bill from the new manager for £6.00 labour for turning on a tap. I have just phoned to make complaint and no one is answering the phone. Just typical. Disgusted if this is the new managers management style. Barmston Beach.

Just had a few days break there in one of their lovely caravans ..couldn't fault anything..Brilliant price..spotlessly clean..the Park itself was beautiful..very tidy and well kept. Nothing was too much trouble. Have just rebooked for October 😃

I booked a holiday with Parkdean and they canceled it. Does this sound familiar! 'KEEPING MY DEPOSIT'

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE HASSLE.
I booked a holiday for my family for almost £600 I had to cancel because of Covid so I changed my date (they turned my cash into a voucher or I would lose my money) then I changed dates was ready to go again Corona hit this time they cancelled my booking and said I couldn't get any of my money back.
I then received an email saying I will be compensated £10, I have lost out nearly £560 these thieves (Parkdean) are disgusting they have preyed on people's finances during this pandemic that has seen so many people suffer under hardship.
I will be starting a petition against Parkdean and other companies who have gained at the expense of others through their cunning plans to rob you off your money.
The customer service is shambolic to say the least I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am now locked into discussions with them to retrieve my money. ( I am not confident in any way but fingers crossed)
Always read reviews its important, had I done this I would never be in this situation.

I bought my caravan stay through Daily Mail £15 breaks, 5 or 6 months ago, paid £60 deposit. Out of the blue (9/03/2021) i received an email from Park dean stating they were unable to contact me and as my balance was to be paid the day before the email, my stay was cancelled and deposit was non refundable. In the terms it did state final payment was due 12 weeks before stay began. But come on, lets be serious here, what with lock down twice, pandemic rife, future unknown, people and resorts lockdown and booking my 5 day break 5 months ago, is it unusual to forget final payment, is it really fare to cancel my stay and, it is a lie, you did not try to contact me, before your email stating you had cancelled my stay. I spent that same day on the telephone trying to contact you, left messages but received no reply from you, i emailed you three times and not had a reply. OK people are working from home, but you never did advise my final payment was due, that is a lie and i feel it could be a rip off, are you are cancelling peoples stays?, keeping their deposits and reletting the caravans as you know that due to the Covid19, people will want to get away, even just for a few days and you will easily resell my stay slot. It`s not the loss of my deposit or the cancelled 5 day break even, it`s the fact you said you had tried to contact me when you and I know that is so very untruthful and not what i would expect from a large company and the public should be made aware how low you can be

When we arrived there was 2 random people walking out our caravan, we reported it to reception due to Covid we wanted it cleaned. All they did was wipe the main door handle.
We had to clean the caravan our selfs before it was actually fit to stay in for the week.
A list of faults
Popcorn under and down back of the seats
Sofa was broken
Bathroom window was broken
Main bedroom wardrobe was letting water in from somewhere so all the clothes got wet
Cigarette burns in the carpet
Sticky marks on the carpet
Lounge carpet was wet through
Blood stains on the sofa
Ants nest outside the door which was going in the caravan
Crumbs all over work tops and on the floor.
Half way through the week we was all poorly due to living in a caravan with a wet carpet. My 3 year old was really poorly.
I reported this to reception who refused to move us to another caravan.
I have recently tried to contact them and I’ve been called a liar by 3 different people I’ve spoke to. The manager of customer relations says he will ring you back but never does and refuses to speak in the phone when you ring him.
I am taking this further and would advise anyone to stay away unless you like staying somewhere that is dirty and being called a liar oh and has no idea about Covid!!!
I am taking it further to the local paper and trading standards because people need to know how you really get treat and spoken to.
We have been owners for a number of years and have added pitch enhancements agreed by parkdean. Since having a review that our pitch is fine by the site manger at Valley farm head office henchmen are bullying my 70 year old mum and dad about there flower pots and flower beds and storage sold to us by Valley Farm. They have now made the short time we could use our holiday home.e during this pandemic a living hell. Over £100,000 investment in a family holiday home we now hate. DO NOT BUY OR TRUST PARKDEAN.
This company is absolutely terrible, the customer service is none existant and they have a "computer says no mentality". We booked our first caravan weekend getaway with them and paid our deposit of £85 and were advised to make the final balance payment closer to the time. We received an email 5 weeks ahead of the travel date which said payment was due in 2,5 weeks time. We waited for a further update closer to the time and yet nothing appeared. Finally, we recieved an email saying our final payment deadline had past the day before and as the final payment had not been made our holiday had been cancelled automically. No problem I thought, a minor mishap on our behalf for which a call to customer service ( 40 minute hold time) with my payment card in hand should sort it. How wrong I was!! Holiday cancelled, Parkdean are unable to reinstate the booking or provide any refund of the amount paid to date. Despite missing the payment deadline by 13 hours, we were told that there was nothing that could be done, however they could honour the same dates and package if we paid them the full amount of the holiday over the deposit amount already paid previously. Errrm... so you think that anyone wants to stay at your resort after you display such disregard and lack of empathy for your customers who missed final balance payments by a matter of hours / days, and then have the cheek to offer the same stay for only the original amount paid in full in addition to the money (deposit) already taken... For clarity, yes it is upon me to ensure payment was made on time. But let's be realistic, these things happen, it's 2020 not 1989!!! Also, look around, we aren't exactly living in 'normal' times currently are we. Park Dean should be doing everything it can to bring in customers to its parks!!!! We previously booked with Haven in the past and had repeated emails from them right up to payment day and they even confirmed during a call that had we missed final balance payment they would have given 48 hours grace. Look and learn Park Dean you robbing bunch of no gooders! Needless to say. We will never book a holiday through this company and they will never see business from our friends or family. Stay at Haven and feel appreciated for your business...
This is the first time we have come to a parkdean park we are staying at the lizard point park we arrived at the park about 5pm after a 4 hour drive. It took some time to find our caravan as the place is very dark due to no street lights. Once we found our van the first thing we noticed was how muddy the outside verander and steps were.the next thing was the overwhelming smell of wet dog as we entered the van .then things just went downhill from there... the tap in the kitchen was falling off .carpets were threadbare trims missing on corners .then there was the filthy floor seating area bedroom floors all covered in dog hair like it hasent be vacuumed for years holes in walls paper ripped off some kind of food stuff on walls .as we was told we would be in a 2019 model van I can't see that all this damage has been done in this time oh and was also told that it had a washer/ dryer to find out it's just a washing machine PARKDEAN SORT YOUR VANS OUT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT IN THIS DAY AND AGE WITH WHATS GOING ON IN THE WOULD YOU AND YOUR STAFF WOULD HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS AND YOUR BUSINESS I DOUBT I WILL BE USING A PARKDEAN RESORT AGAIN AS WITH COVID 19 AND ALL THE GOVERNMENT GIDE LINES IN PLACE YOU WOULDN'T MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO USE A VAN THATS MORE LIKE A OLD DOG KENNEL THEN A HOLIDAY HOME
I recently stayed at the Whitley Bay site. I have stayed here several times in the past but sadly I won't be back. The caravan was not safe. Carbon monoxide detectors were out of date, the electrical installation did not meet current standards, and I felt too anxious to use the gas fire - it seemed temperamental about whether it would light or not.
As a landlord I take my legal responsibility very seriously. I cannot understand why this site does not do the same.
Having paid extra to bring our dogs, I was somewhat surprised on checking out day to observe other people who clearly hadn't, and were waiting with their dogs at the road side of the gate to be picked up by their friends/ family after they had checked out.
We paid for extra comfort caravan at there park in Southview Skegness. All I can say what’s right with our accommodation, it’s got a roof. Never have I stayed in such a dirty horrible place. If you get 19 Poplars good luck
We had a major headache concerning our booking at a Parkdean resort. My wife and I were booked into one lodge with our daughter and son in law. As our area is in the tier 2, high grouping, we aren't allowed to be inside with family members. I spoke to Karen at Parkdean who was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. She informed me of our options, I then discussed them with my family. I then rang back, luckily it was Karen who answered and as I was saying goodbye, my wife had received an email from her presenting us with a voucher (as agreed), to the full amount paid, to be used on another holiday. Super efficient and excellent service. Many thanks to Parkdean.
sadly i normal enjoy parkdean untill we went to ruda the places is a joke the staff are rude they discrimated for disable children is disgiusting we went there monday just gone after an 4 hour drive no parking for our caravan the staff was rude so we lefted staright away which was a four hour drive home they didnt care abt anyone in our party even though we phone and told them after we made the booking i will never use park dean again and hopefully other pepole with disable family and freinds will stay well clear and chose other hollday parks
We have stayed at Parkdean Resorts (Whitley Bay) a few times over recent years. Sadly, standards seem to be slipping. Our recent experience has made us hesitant to go back, and prompted us to write this review.
The curtain rail in the lounge was broken in half, and someone had attempted a bodged repair using insulating tape. This gave way one evening whilst drawing the curtains, with the whole lot landing on our heads.
Our gas fire (the only source of heating in the entire caravan) was missing its electronic igniter. I have no idea why. There was simply a gaping hole where the ignition ‘used to be’. This meant that we had to use the battery operated lighter (found in the kitchen cupboard) any time we required heat, which always resulted in a frightening blowback when the gas ignited. In fact, my partner refused to light the fire herself for this reason.
The grill (gas powered) would not stay lit for more than a few seconds, without keeping the knob on the cooker depressed. In addition, the metal tray which was supposed to support the grill pan was missing parts and therefore unusable. I managed to get our bacon grilled by holding the pan handle and keeping the pan under the flame with one hand whilst holding the gas knob in with the other, but as this took a good ten minutes I burnt my hand in the process.
The filter on the cooker hood was caked with grease and the hood would not extract properly.
The mains cable which supplied our caravan with electricity was inside the wardrobe in the main bedroom. The cable was loose, not clipped or supported in any way whatsoever, neither to the wall or to the consumer unit. This was especially worrying given that the wardrobe was used regularly for storage. I dread to think what might happen if this live cable were caught inadvertently, or perhaps even pulled out of the consumer unit completely by an inquisitive or unruly child?
The mains powered carbon monoxide detectors were due for replacement over five years previously, according to manufacturer’s labels on the casings.
Labels stuck on every portable appliance in the caravan showed that all these items were long overdue a PAT (electrical safety) test.
It was impossible to adjust the water temperature on the boiler as someone had removed the knob.
There was no extractor fan in the bathroom (odd in this day and age) - the bathroom got extremely damp and humid as a result.
The shower waste appeared to be significantly blocked, which meant standing in a pool of dirty water each time we took a shower.
The mixer tap on the bathroom basin was broken, and wobbled around uselessly. The only way to switch the tap on or off was to hold the body of the tap still with one hand whilst operating the lever with the other.
The lighting in some of the rooms (especially the lounge) was really dingy. It strained my eyes.
Although we arrived in late September the caravan was chilly, and downright freezing during the night. There was no way to heat the bedrooms, but thicker duvets would have helped.
Within only a few minutes of arriving at the caravan we were asked if everything was alright and to our satisfaction. I would suggest that this question be asked after a decent length of time has elapsed, so that the occupants can offer a proper assessment. It’s only natural that no-one would have any idea of the sort of problems they might encounter, until well into their holiday.
There is no way that holiday-makers want handymen or tradesmen traipsing in and out of their accommodation during their vacation. Nor should anyone have to decant to an alternative caravan (if given the opportunity) after unpacking all their belongings. Issues like the ones we experienced are major defects which should have been addressed long before we arrived on site. The whole idea is to relax.
For these reasons we can no longer recommend Park Resorts (Whitley Bay) until standards improve. It would seem that the changeovers are rushed or incompetently undertaken, with a severe lack of proper inspection, not only by Park Resorts but also the companies which they employ to undertake safety inspections on their behalf.
PROS: cheap, affordable holiday; beautiful seaside location; dog friendly
CONS: lax attitudes to maintenance, quality control, and occupant safety
we have just come back from a weekend in newquay holiday park. absolutely brilliant, caravan was spotless, all covid measures were in place and by and large adhered too. we had food and drinks in the restaurant which was great value. the staff are very young but what a lovely friendly bunch, hard working and always cheerful. this is our second visit to the park and have also stayed at looe bay. we are looking to go back to newquay or looe again next march and can't wait. above all considering things are obviously very different times at the moment we had a fantastic time. thank you, we will be back x

The customer service is absolutely shocking! I had several issues with my stay and no acknowledgement yet. Still waiting on a refund nearly 2 months after requesting it! I didn’t feel they did enough for COVID-19. Absolute sham.
If I could rate zero stars I would!!!Thorness Bay Isle of Wight the accommodation was filthy shabby unkept with out of date fire extinguisher in the van!!Not covid clean and no social distancing on any of the park!Broken dangerous furniture, pubic hair in the freezer, the last customers belongings still in there and two of us came back with skin infections due to the lack of cleanliness .They are appauling to deal with ,no one gets back to you or answers the phone -I have contacted the media and will be taking to court for our unacceptable stay that ruined 6 people’s family holiday.Never ever will I or any one of my friends or family Book with this company again -they should be ashamed!!!!!
