Non-existent customer service
Order below placed one month ago on the phone with Whirlpool parts (16th December) which I have yet to receive. Over £80 for a part to link a fridge and freezer together! Of course as soon as I placed the order I found the same original part on line for about £20 cheaper. Just called (Monday 11:20am) on the number given in the order email and after going through security was told by your automated system that no one was available and it hung up. No one available mid morning on a week day? Why not tell me that before all the security?
If I had been given the part number on the instruction manual for either device I would have saved myself any interaction with Whirlpool.
Update- as I could not get through on the phone, I emailed them and a couple of days later they told me the bit I ordered was not in stock and they were not sure when it would be back in stock. Why did they not mention that when I ordered on the phone? I told them to cancel my order.
Great Customer Service
I called the Whirlpool parts department for a spare part for my six year old cooker. The left rear gas ring knob. They could not have been more helpful and got me the part at a reduced price for reasons too long to explain. Very pleased with their high level of service to their customers! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
THE WORST customer service department I…
THE WORST customer service department I have EVER known. SERIOUSLY!! Promised a delivery within 2-3 days. It has now been 27 days! Recorded automated message puts you on hold and leaves you there whatever time of day you phone! I will NEVER BUY FROM HOTPOINT or WHIRLPOOL again!
Awful and horrible customer service
Awful and horrible customer service and no promised 30 day follow up by Chelsea. I ordered a replacement dryer condenser door seal with the help of a agent who said it can be returned within 30 days if wrong part ordered but it was in fact 14 days according to another agent. I have no idea what information they are giving customers and which seal would fit my door and I trusted the agent would help me in August. The instructions given to fit the seal are useless and parts are missing, hard to understand and not as easy as the agent told me. I think customers are expected to give up and use their own company contractors and pay a extortionate fee. Since this seal is not compatible with my less than 2 years old dryer it has started to rust, this concern has also been ignored. I have contacted CS and Chelsea several times with my concerns but no help at all. To a massive company this is a small issue that could have been resolved promptly. My follow ups are completely ignored and if there were 0 rating I would certainly give that for this 0 results experience.

Doesn't allow me to give 0 stars so…
Doesn't allow me to give 0 stars so have to give a very undeserved 1.Disgusting service from these guys. I ordered a part and paid for next day delivery which i didn't get . The part turned up on day 4 but my issue is the appalling customer service. You are forced to chat to a robot , which is useless and after 10 minutes of absolute stupid options you get told to call their number. After numerous calls and pretty rude call handlers i still have not recieved a refund on the delivery charge. Pointless talking to them, utter waste of time and energy

Contacted Hotpoint today to enquire…
Contacted Hotpoint today to enquire about a replacement glass panel which suddenly shattered yesterday on our 18 month old microwave.
No part showing in the parts list so i used the chat facility. The result of this is that they can supply a replacement glass for £67.57 but there is absolutely no fitting instruction, guidance or "how to link".
I then requested the part reference but was informed it is company policy not to give part numbers.
Pretty shocked at how anti - customer they seem to be geared. Just going to replace the microwave now but i know what make i will not be buying.

Very frustrating and so easy to fix.
Firstly let me say the problem is now solved, but the energy that I needed to put into this was totally out of proportion to the issue.
Problem, new dishwasher supplied with one bit of the racking effectively broken (bad weld and just held in place by plastic coating).
Challenge, getting the right bit to fix it. There is a nice schematic on their web site but it doesn't have an identifying number for the broken bit, the text also it is translated from the Italian by someone who doesn't understand English. This meant that I could only explain which part it was, not give a specific ID.
Completely wrong part delivered - not remotely like the one I need. OK so I try again. This time I get a part which is almost right, but it's the wrong one of a pair. We'll try again.
The very helpful guy at Hotpoint didn't want me to be disappointed again and admitted that the manuals were a problem, so he went overboard. I needed A small piece of racking and two plastic clips. I got three pieces of racking (only one was the correct one) and one plastic clip. Oh and to make sure he threw in a whole lower tray which contained everything I could possibly need. Full marks for trying to make sure I didn't have to go back again!! But what a waste. The box was huge, beautifully packed with lots of packing material, not the mention the stuff that had accompanied the first two attempts.
So this comes down to something very simple. They need to sort out their manuals so that customers can communicate easily with their staff (who I think try quite hard) and not waste lots of time supplying the wrong bits.
Hint for Hotpoint. When looking at the machine from the front, referring to a piece of racking as "left" or "right" is not helpful when they are both on the left of the machine and one is behind the other. [I know this is how Italians do it, but it makes no sense in English]. Give them separate ID's on the diagram, or refer to them as "front" and "rear" or both. Then we could all understand.

Right part & refund for delivery
Ordered a switch for my oven over the phone & the advisor (Chris I think) was very helpful.
I paid for next day delivery but the item arrived on the 2nd day so called up to get a refund on the delivery difference.
Luckily it wasn't difficult to fit the part (no soldering required) which worked a treat.
Other than the delivery mishap it was a smooth experience for me so can't complain.

Absolutely hopeless
Absolutely hopeless.
1. The site would not accept my address when making an order.
2. When trying to check information via chat, I was directed to a bot, and kept waiting for 15 minutes for an advisor who never came.
3. The bot did not even tell my my position in the queue, or how long I was likely to have to wait.
I no longer want to have anything to do with this totally useless company.

Update: sadly it didnt stop the leak so we had to buy a new dishwasher anyway, but this was not Chris's fault, he helped us find the part, sadly it was not the part we needed! Not his fault!

Cooker hood bulb, unbelievably expensive!
We have a Hotpoint cooker hood fitted in the kitchen which has two very useful lights.
A bulb went in one of them and so I went onto the Hotpoint website and found a replacement for £17.20 plus packing, which I thought rather expensive.
I went ahead and ordered one and was informed it would take about a week to arrive.
The following day my wife returned from shopping at Morrison's supermarket where she had purchased a pack of two for £4.00!!!
I rep[laced the broken bulb and the new 'Morrison' one fitted perfectly!!!
So, there you have it, 2 for £4.00 or one from Hotpoint for £17.20! Unbelievable!

Waste of time.
I have a ten year warranty for my Hotpoint Fridge Freezer, when I rang up Hotpoint I was informed this warranty had not logged and the advisor suggested I go online and request the spare part there instead.
When I input my model number it did not offer me the option to get a replacement for the salad drawer I needed, and all the other parts listed were either out of stock or obsolete.
So much for my extended warranty!
Original Whirlpool Engineer didn't fit…
Original Whirlpool Engineer didn't fit rubber seal properly, because the second one said that it had come off, but has never worked on a semi professional Whirlpool before: he complained that he doesn't know where the clips are, as he was pulling the front of the machine off. He was very agitated, as I was watching him and denied me to allow me to clean the plastic parts of my own machine. he said that I could cause issues under the warranty (I don't know how- when there are no electrical parts next to them) and told me that he would call me when finished. Being full of cold, blowing his nose and wearing no mask, he said that the machine is working and left some bits next to it on the floor. I went over to clean up and found evident ends off a broken clip- from when he took the front off and then on. Calling whirlpool operator, Imran asked if the Engineer was just having a joke and claimed that there is no phone number for customer services, he does not deal with complaints. When I asked for a Manager, he said his protocol advise that I should write in, or would give a link to go to, an on line chat. I explained that Whirlpool said I could call and ask for customer services, he said that he is only there to input call out data for repair engineers. After arguing his side, saying that all Engineers are trained on Whirlpool products, to which I denied, he huffed and puffed, claiming that he would email his supervisor Ashley, and that I should get a call back within 48hrs... Poor service from start to finish : (
I spoke over the telephone operator to…
I spoke over the telephone operator to bo book a Hotpoint engineer to call out. Each time the operator asked a question I had do say "pardon " because I couldn't understand his speech due to his verbal language. It was really embarrassing by the end of the call by saying "pardon "

Ordered a replacement part for a hotpoint freezer
Ordered a replacement part for a hotpoint freezer in December 2021, a simple plastic push fit interior partition cover which I was informed was in stock.
Enquiring in January 2022 where the part was I was informed that a new order system had been installed over Christmas and my order had been allocated a new number and was now out of stock.
The item was finally shipped using Hermes but arrived damaged, after the usual repeated calls to the returns department on the 21/1/2022 I was informed that a return label would be e-mailed to me to allow me to return the damaged goods.
After a number of phone calls enquiring when would I receive the label it was finally sent on 31/1/2022. Unfortunately when I presented the package at the local Hermes Depo the label was not recognised.
After many further attempts I finally contacted someone at whirlpool who informed that the contract with Hermes was no longer valid and I would be sent a return label for the new delivery company ie dpd.
On the 11//2/2022I received the label and returned the broken item to whirlpool and was informed by dpd that the parcel had been officially received on 14/2/2022.
Since then I have recieved no acknowledgement of the return of the defective item or my money returned, a copy of my invoice had previously been sent to me.
I have not experienced before such staggering inefficiency and utter ineptitude in a company that relies on customers support for its future.

Disappointed. As yet the repair has not been done
As yet the repair has not been done. What I’m disappointed in is that I’ve been informed there is a shortage of engineers in my area therefore I have to wait 8 days before someone can attend. This is totally unacceptable and not what I pay insurance for. I was asked if I would like to insure other electrical domestic appliances clearly based on this experience is no. If you offer a service then make sure it’s relevant to your customer.
