Excellent service from the staff at the Houghton le Spring office.
I initially used Pattinsons as they were the only estate agent that I contacted who always answered the phone, I didn’t ever have to leave a message on an answer phone therefore any questions were always answered immediately. Throughout the sale staff provided the highest quality service, questions were answered promptly and the whole experience was professional, friendly and efficient. We accepted an offer on the property within 2 weeks of it going on the market and the sale was complete with exchange of contracts and exchange of keys and finance 7 weeks later. Staff from the Houghton office dealt with everything including all viewings and liaised closely with my legal representatives.
I was well supported throughout the process by the team from the estate agent with a really positive outcome. Thank you to everyone involved.

Tried 14 times today to contact the Peterlee Branch...twice the calls bounced to other branches and even they were not able to get in contact with the Peterlee Branch, messages have been passed on apparently!! and I have emailed 3 times. A friend of a friend has been trying to call to view my property and cannot get an answer. Whats the point of having my property for sale with them when the service is this bad?

Absolutely shocking totally incompetent rented a house from pattisons left without hot water for ten days in winter repairs taking six months no communication the only thing they want is the rent and only respond to you if you withhold it. Do not rent from this company

Extremely poor experience. After listing, there was almost no follow-up, and no one ever picked up the phone or responded to my emails — even friends trying the Rightmove number had no luck. Emails and calls were ignored. I escalated to senior staff who were dismissive and even refused to take my calls after providing evidence. Only after involving 3rd parties and threatening to involve the Property Ombudsman was I released from the contract. Arrogant, unprofessional, and uninterested in achieving a sale - Worst experience I have encountered in an agent. I would strongly advise anyone considering this auction house to proceed with extreme caution - Especially with the Wallsend branch.

If you are looking to buy in the Peterlee area, you need to call Laura at Pattinsons. She displays a level of professionalism beyond anything else I have encountered in numerous contacts with other agencies in the area. Polite, pleasant, constant updates, always ready to deal with problems and present solutions. Iain in the auction department was also very helpful and solved problems quickly, efficiently. I realise this sounds a bit gushing but most agents just want their commission and these people actually care!

Excellent service from Ashington branch, as always! Unfortunately our sale was not particularly smooth with two sales falling through and our third conveyance being lengthy due to issues with slow communications from our buyers solicitor. This process lasted thirteen months so you can imagine how stressed we were. Pattinsons were so calm, experienced and proactive that they pulled everything together at the last minute. All the staff in branch are excellent but we need to give a special mention to Sue Scurr. Thank you so much.

Very terrible service! Especially from the referencing and admin team, notably a lady called Stephanie.
This lot presented an offer to me and, upon referencing, we realised that the status of the tenants was completely different from what was given, and they still wanted me to accept it. I rejected it. Then they found another set of tenants, and for almost two weeks, the second applicant did not give them an email, yet they kept asking me to hold.
Then they found a third tenant. Referencing was quick this time, but Stephanie refused to send me a reference report, despite requesting to see it before the tenants move in. Is this not a fair request? claiming it would be sent only after the tenancy commences. Mind you, they are not managing the property.
She then asked me to sign the contract before the tenant did, despite my request that the tenant sign first and I would follow. I asked her why she would even consider asking me to sign when the tenancy clearly states that tenants confirm they’ve made payment before or as of signing the contract—is it not a breach of agreement if I sign before the tenant has fulfilled their part? She arrogantly replied, “That’s how we do it, and we won’t change it just because you think it’s not legal or the correct procedure.” When I asked her to confirm what the clauses of the tenancy agreement say regarding payment, she said “BYE” and hung up on me.
I was in shock.

We received excellent service from Louise Johnson at the Whickham Branch. Our property sale was unfortunately not a smooth one with the first sale falling through on the day of exchange/completion due to issues in the buyer’s chain, and the second sale taking many months to complete with limited communication to us. Whilst we experienced some frustration during this protracted period, we are very grateful to Louise who took over our property sale case at Pattinsons and was extremely proactive, friendly, responsive and helpful.
