Nightmare signing-up
Signing up was a complete nightmare. The comms from the team were not especially clear - nor was the product I was signing up for. And so many hoops to jump though (signing up to a bank had less forms to fill in!).
Money for nothing
To then get slapped with a £150+ fee before I'd barely had access to the app and a chance to evaluate it (I had not made a deposit, or been even been issued a card) was not a particularly welcoming experience.
Expensive and unclear - especially for new companies
I use a lot of fintech companies - in general, they are amazing at working with small companies and understanding their needs.
I was very clear with the Payhawk team that I wanted to try this out to see how I felt the product would work for my company. While they did mention fees, they were not clear on the amount and exactly when they would be due.
I am not saying these details were not in the small print. I am sure they were - I just don't think they are especially clear on this with their new customers.
Misleading customers (or just plain not listening)
Additionally - while I employ between 10 and 20 staff, I stated to the rep on the phone I would only ever envisage needing a couple of cards for the time being (this, if I went ahead and decided the service was right for us).
The rep I spoke to jumped on the staff numbers and seemed to think I would need 10-20 cards and I was going to save a fortune with their product!

great tool for expense mgmt
we are using the tool since some weeks for our small team 7 fte for complete expense and partially invoice management. except of some minor funtionality miss outs it covers all important aspects and is easy to use.

The product is very interesting for fast-growing tech companies like us. It is very simple to automate and digitize valueless financial tasks and be able to focus efforts on other areas with more impact on the business outcomes.
