Useless

Useless - Yet again.

As they have always been Paypal is an absolutely useless company.

Deactivated a recurring payment to a Telco and wanted to set up a new agreement with the Telco.

The Telco were unable to create a new profile as Paypal refused the request due to the previous Inactive recurring payment.

Wasted 30 minutes on the phone to Paypal to be told there is nothing they can do. They could not reactivate the old profile nor delete it from their system to allow a new profile be set up with the vendor.

There used to be a button to Reactivate an Inactive recurring payment but the bright sparks in Paypal, in all their wisdom removed it. What a clústérf**k of an operation. This is reported widely across numerous websites and forums.

The best think about the experience with Paypal? they don't got a damn about the customer.

Thankfully there are many other payment options available now that weren't there before like :
1. Skrill
2. Payoneer
3. Google Pay Send
4. Stripe
5. Revolut

It will be bye, bye Paypal soon enough.

Thrash company with incompetent employees

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, they blocked the use of MY !!!! means. The parcel has reached the buyer, he does not raise any claims. I have registered the courier, the tracking number and the funds are still blocked. Of course, they did not block their very high commission. And the inability to contact anyone from PayPal. How can I recover MY !!!! money, I immediately close the account.
I advise against future, potential customers of this ... service.

Uninformed Customer Service, terrible refund policy

Purchased an item on JD Sports with PayPal, JD refunded back to PayPal on the 28th of August as no stock available. Today the 6th of September, still no refund from PayPal, who insist they have sent the refund back and have placed the blame on the card issuer. Card issuer cannot see the refund. Takes 72 hours to get a call back from PayPal to explain why. And when you call them they pretend to care and use all sorts of soundbites and jargon to tell you it. Why does it take so long to refund money? It never takes long to reach the destination, but always seems to take long to return. If I had used my card initially, I would have the cash back already. Will never use it again. Customer service also unaware on why it takes 5 working days to refund money. Need serious training. You might not need the 180 euro that badly Paypal, but I certainly do.

Horrible company with appalling customer service!

PayPal have one of my purchases 'under review' and pending for a week now, despite the funds for the purchase being taken by PayPal from my Mastercard the day after I made my purchase. After three online messages, two phone calls and an email (to an address given to me during one of my phone calls to them), nothing has happened and PayPal have not explained why they are reviewing this payment or when they are likely to process it. It's a modest amount of money to a small local food producer but it was an urgent order and it's now taking a ridiculous amount of my time and energy to get it resolved. The PayPal call centre personnel are polite but pretty useless. They've kept me on silent hold for about 10 minutes or so each time only to repeat the same information they did at the start of the call....that the purchase is being reviewed and they don't know when the process will be completed. I asked to cancel the transaction but PayPal won't do that either. In the meantime they've had the cheek to contacting me looking for a review! The small local food producer involved has been really helpful and has also told me that they are planning to drop PayPal as too many of their customers have been given the run around by them when trying to make purchases.

PayPal facilitated theft of my money!

I bought an item online & paid via PayPal, you know, to ensure Buyer protection. Fast forward and the Seller never sent my order. I emailed the Seller to cancel the order and demanded a full refund after waiting over 1 month. No reciprocal communication. So I initiated a refund via PayPal. As expected PayPal initiated an investigation. The Seller provided PayPal with a random (any random) tracking number for someone else & some other address. PayPal accepted this tracking information and ruled in favour of the Seller. Essentially PayPal facilitated the Seller in stealing my money. PayPal facilitated theft of my money based on random tracking information provided to some other person who's name & address were completely different to my own. When I tried to dispute this decision with PayPal, they expect me to conduct my own investigation. They didn't even bother to conduct an adequate investigation into the Seller's provided information! Outrageous! Your money isn't safe with PayPal. I immediately cancelled my PayPal account. I'll use an alternative from now on. At least it was less than €100 that PayPal allowed to be stolen from me. Never again PayPal! Your so-called investigative measures are below standard and flawed. Either that or your investigative staff are deliberately complicit in theft?

I lodged a dispute with Paypal…

I lodged a dispute with Paypal regarding an item I received as it was not as described and not fit for purpose. While my complaint was proven to be correct Paypal found in favour of the seller and made me pay for the item. I aim to report them to the banking regulator and to the consumer regulator as I believe they are in breach of the 'Sale of goods and supply of Services Act 1980'.

Useless PayPal "claim escalation" feature

I submitted a dispute to the PayPal Resolution Center against a seller who did not ship my product. The seller had three weeks to reply but never did.

Last week, PayPal's automated email prompted me to escalate my claim further. I decided to do that just before the deadline set by PayPal, unfortunately for me the ESCALATION button in PayPal Resolution Centre was not working at that time. I was repetitively logged out of my PayPal account when I hit it. I wish I hadn’t waited until last week to escape my claim but who could have predicted that the PayPal tool designed for escalations would not work at that time. (I have noticed since on PayPal Community Blog that other users reported similar problem, so maybe PayPal is deliberately turning it off before the deadline for users / or is keeping it broken ?!)

Since the mentioned Escalate button was not working for me at the time and my case deadline was approaching I decided to send an email to the PayPal team instead.

And here's another surprise…. finding an email to customer support! Unfortunately, sending an email to PayPal team is not easy! I managed to send it eventually via different section but that was either missed or went to black hole.

PayPal sent an email after my deadline saying that I have missed the deadline and I cannot escalate my claim anymore :(
My further explanations and attempts to open the case didn’t work and this is how I lost my case.

Another reviewer on TrustPilot wrote that "PayPal is an automated call centre designed to make you go away". I think this is a very accurate observation. If PayPal really wants this, we'll go but we take our family and friends with us!

Sorry…..PayPal but you are not helpful !

The only reason to use PayPal is…

The only reason to use PayPal is protection.

Example, say you inadvertently purchased a smart phone from Wish, as an example. A smart phone that turned out to be a fake version of a brand. Say, Samsung for example.

Following it's arrival you returned the item, using the sellers instructions to down load free return labels and drop the package off at a designated agent.

Assume you did all this and heard nothing further for a month. Well, lucky you, you were smart and you paid by PayPal.

Actually not. Alas there is a serious flaw in your concept of protection. You see, PayPal will not accept the item being returned if you handed to the agent for the seller, That being the drop off location.
Even if you have a receipt and it has all the reference data from the labels on the package. Even if you have a tracking number and it shows that the return was collected and processed by the courier.

This is the catch then, If, for any reason, the tracking does not show that the item was delivered, your claim to PayPal will fail. Effectively, their response is, that you failed to prove it actually was a phone purchased from Wish that was in the package you returned. Of course, This cunning plan of yours to falsely claim your money back in a PayPal dispute will only work if the package does not actually arrive!! Or if the seller, Wish, say's it did not arrive.

So, you made the return as instructed, You claimed you money back because the seller sold you a fake. They ignored you and so you opened a PayPal dispute only to discover that they hold you and not the seller responsible for a package.

Proof of a return via the sellers agent is not a return they will allow. You, and you alone must prove that it was the phone in the package and that the package arrived and was accepted by the seller!

Some deal right. Good luck with that.

Unauthorized booking from a company Kilo Health from our PayPal account. If you check TrustPilot, you can see a lot of neg reviews about this company and in EVERY report PayPal was linked to this scam in a way that they did nothing about the scam and didn't refund.

With so many complaints all alarmbells should ring in a company like PayPal, but nothing happens.

We will cancel our account with PayPal since we don't trust this company, and looking at the many negative feedback here, for a good reason.

Liar wins pal

The simple thing about PayPal is that the party that lies wins. I had a seller upload tracking information for a parcel that was never delivered! I even had an email chain with the seller demonstrating that they know they never sent it! They still lied to keep the money and PayPal barely reads communications so they won! You need to go to your bank to chargeback. They will actually review your evidence, PayPal won't even let you upload it. PayPal is useless.

Forget PayPal

Forget PayPal, if you have a problem you should raise it with your credit card supplier, PayPal is an automated call centre designed to make you go away. If you are unfortunate enough to have to deal with them at all then calling them may be the least futile option. PayPal is worse to deal with than the people they fraudulently claim to be protecting you from. Contact your bank.
