For retailers

No retailers should sign up for paypoint, they are very tricky and make you sign for a 5 years contract. and shocking automictic renewal of another 5 years at the end off the contract. we informed we don't need their service but they were adamant that they send us letters of our auto renewal (no letter came from them). PayPoint thinks they have the monopoly of the market so they can do anything they want. The contract is very dangerous for retailers and footfall story is a fairy tale they try to sell to retailers. Do not sign up or get paypoint to your shops.

Awful and flawed system

Awful system. Tried 5 of the points on their website near me for cashout and all of them said that they don't do it because they don't hold cash. No way to filter the places that actually provide the service.

Stay away from PayPoint

Bought a voucher in 2011 because I found the idea intriguing. Never found an opportunity to spend the money (50 GBP) anywhere. When Brexit drove me back to Germany after 15 years I tried to get my money back. The telephone help line on the voucher did not work anymore, and I had other things to worry about in the middle of an international relocation amid a pandemic.

Now I tried again by approaching PayPoint directly. They told me the only way to take advantage of my voucher is to negotiate matters with the "store", it's at their disretion whether they will do anything. Most likely they would not, it was explained to me, because they are not guaranteed that they will get reimbursed for the voucher. What?!

That's not how I understood the bussines idea but anyway. Stay away from this, the general idea is possibly good, but the implementation is not working at all and the customer support is non-existent.

Rubbish service

Received a £90 cash voucher and was told that it could be redeemed at any paypoint location. Tried 6 different stores including co op, Esso and budgets before I found anybody that would help with it. This is the same type of cash voucher given by local authorities to struggling families so find it disgusting that it is not compulsory for paypoint stores to offer the service.

Very disappointing service

Very disappointing service. The QR code never works and they hold the parcels without releasing even if they know we are the correct customers after sharing the ID proof. I am lost lot of money . Never order or use paypoint service.

Can't give them 0 stars - so forced to give them 1

The only reason that I am giving PayPoint a star, is that it appears that you cannot give them no stars...
Customer service is non existent for consumers, stuck in the middle of their B2B nightmare setup, and who are reliant on them in order to process energy payments...
There is no customer service number for consumers - you are simply told to email them - but no email address on their consumer customer service website page.
Once you have eventually found your way to a contact form, their response is to tell you to get their merchant to call them...
Their merchant is uninterested and rude - refusing to call them, so I am now stuck trying to get 2 parties to speak with each other - which has nothing to do with me, or my transaction (which says it is confirmed on the receipt...)!
So, no customer service to call, rude and obstructive merchants, my credit in their system - but not on my meter for days...
