People plus are a joke

Only giving one because I can't give zero. I have never in my life come across a company so useless! I have spent the best part of 54 hours on the phone in the last 3 months to try and get paid on time. I've had over £40 in missed payment charges and have come close to loosing my house due to a missed mortgage payment. I will never take on anymore clients in the future who's accounts are run by people plus. I have no idea why the local councils renewed their contracts but have written to them about this.
If you are looking for support Please under NO circumstances take your account with people plus it will cause you more stress and hassle

Dreadful company to put mildly

Dreadful company to put mildly. People are pleasant when you can actually speak to them. Pay when they feel like it. No wage slips. Haven’t been able to contact them by phone all year and ridiculous music whilst you’re on hold for an hour. Resigned from client I support and won’t miss People Plus. Shouldn’t be in charge of payroll. Zero stars. Again dreadful.

This company is the worst company have…

This company is the worst company have ever worked for. Always being paid late. I've been on the phone for 3 hours and then being cut off. I rung back and finally got through to someone and another 2 and half hours waiting, she couldn't give me any information and said she will give me a call back if she hears back from the pay roll. Still no phone call. I asked her about the carers payment as I had an email from people plus saying it will be included in my next pay day. She said I wouldn't bank on getting it yet. They have had my carers money for a month now so why not pay it??

People plus......AVOID

Avoid this company if possible. They are shocking. Considering they work with families that have special needs they certainly don't show that they care. For the last 2 months my sons PA has not been paid on time. Myself and the PA are left to send emails, which you receive an automated reply to, try contacting them via phone, only to get cut off after you have been on hold for several hours. My sons PA has also not received the carers bonus even though People Plus have had the money from the local authority. Mine is a managed account to help reduce my stress levels, I have to say that it's not working very well.

People plus are a disgrace

People plus are a disgrace. They are supposed to work out wages etc for those who have carers under direct payment. Every month payment details are late or not sent. I spent 147 minutes on hold to get to number from caller 17 to then be cut off. You can never get through by phone. All emails are ignored and even complaints are not dealt with. Why were people plus given the contract of dealing with direct payments. They cause nothing but stress. I have lost 2 carers due to them not receiving their wages on time for the last 8 months. Absolute shambles. This needs to change to a company that can actually manage accounts.

They don't care, you're just a paycheque

I was out of work for a while and placed on the Restart Scheme with PeoplePlus, went to a few meetings before deciding to restart the business I had that closed due to COVID. So I went self employed and passed the checks with the JobCenter, still claiming Universal Credit since I'm in a start up phase, and the JobCenter told me I didn't have to attend PeoplePlus any more and they'd inform them that I was now gainfully self employed. I bet you can guess what happened next if you've read the other reviews here. Of course PeoplePlus claim the JobCenter haven't told them anything and continue to barrage me with texts and emails demanding I attend meetings, which I cannot since I'M AT WORK and busy setting my business back up.

My PeoplePlus work coach (the one I had before going self employed) asked me for evidence I was self employed so I sent a copy of the letter that HMRC sends you when you register self employment, so far that was three days ago and I still get text and e-mail reminders to attend PeoplePlus meetings. I don't think anyone actually reads the e-mails that you send back to them.

On top of that, the PeoplePlus work coach (John) said I'd missed too many appointments and threatened me with sanctions, which is strange since I've only missed two and only since going self employed. Turns out PeoplePlus don't even talk to each other and they're so useless that my previous appointments were being rescheduled (which I was notified of, that's fine) but the old schedule was never updated and kept flagging me as missing appointments. I couldn't facepalm hard enough.

They're utterly useless and incompetent.

Hence the title of this review; they don't care about you, they just need you to attend and sign a sheet so they can get paid. How this utterly incompetent company received a government contract will perplex me until the end of time.

I am a service user using Peopleplus…

I am a disabled person living in Lincolnshire and have a health budget, which is a managed fund and the CHC use Peopleplus for wages etc that I send in for my Carers. I have had a managed fund for around 7 years and until around a year ago a company called Pendrells Trust was used - a good company who tried their hardest to sort any problems and you could easily contact them should there be a problem.
This all changed around a year ago when Pendrells lost the contract and Peopleplus took over. It is the company from he'll. Considering yhese companies are paid a lot of money by the health authority (tax payers money), I don't know how they are getting away with it. The payroll department which is the main department I deal with - they do not under any circumstances give you a phone number, only an email address which for urgent problems is useless. They DO NOT answer emails under any circumstances, they fail to let you know they have received the Carers/PA'S hours of work, so you are never 100% sure people are going to get paid. If you put an invoice in with something they don't like, they just don't pay it and also do not let you know. This last week, not for the first time, one of my carers were left without their pay. I checked and double checked I had sent my part in correctly, which I had and it was 1 carer who didn't get paid out of 4 Carers, so there really shouldn't have been any mistake. That person is now left paying overdraft payments and having direct debits bounce. I feel awful as I am classed as the Employer, yet I have no control over the managed fund and the use of this abysmal company. Yesterday started with me trying to get hold of the person at peopleplus who is may point of contact, her phone was switched off all day. To be honest I'm not surprised as I would imagine she is fed up with dealing with mistakes having been made. I then sent the payroll department an urgent email, a joke as always, as emails never get answered. I think they just get printed off and go into the fires of he'll to keep everyone in the office warm. So I was then left with trawling through the Internet to try and find a phone number for said department. On eventually finding one that worked and also wasn't linked to their Call Centre or at least I don't think it was, I phone the number. I was greeted with, 'you are number 19 in the queue.' I did wonder whether it was worth hanging on, due to past experiences. However, it was to do with an employees wages so I needed to get it sorted. I eventually left thr phone with thr volume turned up as I was feeling pretty rough and had a seizure, one of the things I suffer with. Well when I came around from thr seizure I asked my carer what had happened to the phone call. She passed me the phone for me to find, I was still awaiting a reply and was now number 3. I had been hanging on the phone for 2 hours and 11 minutes. I decided as I was number 3 in the queue I may as well hang on. At 2 hours and 47 minutes my luck was in, the fires of he'll had opened up to me, whoppie I was now number 1. The phone was still playing the awful music but I was going to hold on and have my say, get my employee their money which they had worked for. Then, the phone went click and the line went dead. I couldn't believe it, I had been cut off. Reading the reviews this wasn't an accident but something yhat happens. So my employee has to now go all weekend with an overdrawn bank account and probably until next payday as even on Monday when I try again, I cannot imagine getting this, my latest problem sorted.
Peopleplus is a company, from my experience, to avoid at all cost. I would say they are a joke, but it isn't actually funny, they are playing with people's lives.
So now, I am daring someone from high up in their organisation to contact me and sort this problem out. I would then add a positive note to my review

Yet again I am writing another awful review for this company. I have sent 6 e mails and have just been on the phone for 57 mins to get to the front of the queue only to be hung up on. After writing the last review, amazingly someone came back to me, I have e mailed this person now 3 times, nothing, original e mail sent 9 days ago, I don’t know how this company is still operating after reading other reviews. As previously stated I am a full time career for my brother and don’t have time for this. Their website is utter rubbish saying about what a brilliant company they are!!!!!

Avoid if you have a choice

If I could give them no stars, I would. I have been waiting almost a month for an invoice to be paid (I work as a self-employed carer). You can't get through on the telephone lines. I was cut off whilst on hold one time and waited 40 minutes another time and my position in the queue did not change (my position in the queue was no. 14). Avoid like the plague if you have any choice over the matter. Disgraceful company. Needs closing down and should not be being recommended as a payroll provider by a public body like the CCG.

23/07/2022 update: my invoice still hasn't been paid.

Awful experience don’t even deserve the one star tbh!!
I have been on the phone for 1hr 40 still on the phone as I typed this. My wages haven’t come through everywhere days £0 to be made yet I should have my actually wages paid. The customer service is awful. After explaining the situation I’m in with not being paid I was told “oh no, well wait and see if you get it tomorrow and then call back” I explained I’m not willing to call and wait for another hour tomorrow and now on hold again as they can’t seem to find someone to investigate the issue. Ridiculous this company and their customer service- rude.

Absolute Shambles

Absolute shambles. Not one member of staff has a clue whats going on. They send you on courses, which you can be sure they will be getting massive grants to sort, then havent a clue in regards to certificates etc. They ignore phone calls but if you do manage to get to speak to someone can never help

if you are nerodiverse avoid this shambolic "company"

timeline of my experience with this awful government grant grabbing company
went to two interviews a panel and a microteach and told them on both occassions about my dyspraxia and possible Aspergers difficulties (i am awaiting a formal assessment of this) was offered the job as Employability Skills tutor
security clearance was shambolic as only one person was employed to do this job
spent most of September commuting 52 miles by train looking at flats
found a suitable flat paid the deposit and first months rent
was told on my first day that there wasnt any learners for me to teach as the course wasnt due to start yet so as a "temporary" measure I was going to be covering ESOL,IT and education wing inductions.
This "temporary " measure lasted five months and the constant changing of subjects stressed me out. In February i was sacked for being a security issue , if i had actually taught the subject that i was recruited for then the stress that constantly being on cover caused wouldnt have caused this in the first place.
Basically i should have realised what a disaster working for this company would have been with the jargon heavy nonsense that was bandied about the place a "one to one" was a "great conversation" such nauseating jargon should have given me prior warning so i hope other neuro divergent people do themselves a favour and avoid this toxic place

Consistently terrible service.

Consistently terrible service.
The last four phone appointments I’ve had with PeoplePlus have been at least 15 minutes late, and that’s after I’ve had to send an email to remind them. I may be unemployed at the moment but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a life to get on with, and to have to spend so much time waiting for a scheduled phone call is unacceptable. I volunteer so whenever I have a scheduled call I have to arrange a break to take it, and for them to not respect my time is very unfair. A couple of weeks ago my advisor said they were late ringing because of a ‘late lunch’. Complete disregard for their service users. Communication is also dreadful, often am not told about appointment until day before, and even more often this information is inaccurate and they give the wrong date or time.

I had high hopes about joining the Restart scheme, but my experiences over the last few months with PeoplePlus have left me with absolutely no faith in this service to help me find a job. This service is being funded by taxes which as far as I can see are going straight down the drain.

TOTALLY INCOMPETENT. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

My dear mother passed away just over two weeks ago after a long battle with dementia. Over the last three years we were lucky enough to have excellent personal assistants and a good care company. However the standards promised to us by People Plus were a total sham. Lost emails, no payslips, late payments and nil communication, (due to unmanned email accounts!!) has resulted in my widowed father really struggling to cope at this dreadful time.
I have been promised a call back to discuss the closing of the account since last week, I have sent e mails to every address I could find relating to People Plus, and yet my father and I are still in the dark about closing an account following a bereavement.

My dad paid the maximum each month to cover my mums care, and I can honestly say that I have NEVER met such a disorganised, disingenuous organisation. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Unprofessional, non communicative

I am self-employed Holistic and Beauty Therapist and since Feb 2020 have been in receipt of universal credit as I either a) have not been able to work due to lockdown b) and had reduced income as all the office on-site massage I used to do has completely dried up and I have had to pivot my business back to 1 to 1 working from a dedicated space at home.
I only found out about People Plus in late December 21 and Stockport jobcentre referred me.
On 4th January I had the induction on Microsoft teams and was promised a business advisor and access to online training. Since then, nothing has happened other than me being left in the dark and a shocking lack of clear communication from People Plus.
After sending an email, I had a text from Daria to say I had a telephone call meeting on Thurs 7th Jan, I replied asking what time as I had some appointments that day. I texted three times and got no reply. Then Pam the Business Advisor called and booked me in for Mon 18th Jan at 10am, that call never happened.
So I rang the Head office number 0800 345666 to try and get a clear answer. They were helpful and apologetic but left in an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation that is unfair to them.
Anyway, after that Pam rang again. I texted her back with my availability and I have heard nothing again.
The lack of communication is downright rude, unprofessional and to be frank, if I ran my private business in this way I would have no customers. I presume that your staff are answerable to someone and overall your organisation is answerable to your funders.
