Thanks Mike, excellent explanation of histograms. You are an excellent teacher. You have the talent of explaining things in a clear way that’s easy to comprehend. And yes, I find myself looking at shadows and highlights all the time!

I took the online Masterclass and supplemented it with photowalk in Brighton for street photography. I really enjoy Mike’s course which provides practical skills with great examples which we can practice whilst doing the course. I now need to put effort is doing the practice. I will certainly attend future training by Mike.

This is a great course for anyone wanting to improve their knowledge and photography. Mike has great teaching style that is so easy to watch and absorb the information at the same time. The theoretical side is explained and demonstrated using easy to follow and understand examples. Lots of practical advice and exercises to help you improve your skills. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Found your YouTube page back in Covid Times. Started taking part in the PhotoCreative Challenges on a monthly bases about 3 years ago. Decided to take his Master Class and it has changed the world for me. So much more improvement in my photographs. No longer just taking a ton of shots to get a few good ones here and there. Making me think about what I want to capture rather than just hoping my photo's will turn out.

I highly recommend following his videos, participating in his challenges, taking his classes, and if you live close to him, take his in person classes as well. You will not be disappointed.

I have been watching your videos since 2019 and these are what got me interested in photography, your no nonsense approach and relaxed teaching style are, in my opinion what makes you one of the best teachers out there. I have been a member and regular contributor of photo creative right from the beginning (or photography locked down as it was known back then) which was a life saver during the 2020 covid lockdown and what made me take up photography seriously as a hobby. I have done all three of your online courses - Master class, 7 Building Blocks and 7 Steps and found them unmeasurably valuable. I have been a member of the private feedback group since it's birth and have attended CDTP twice and am now about to sign up for the third year in a row. My photography has improved immensely in the last few years, to a point where I am regularly exhibiting my work and also selling my prints on a regular basis. I, as well as countless other people have you to thank for the way my photography has been transformed.

Just completed the beginners workshop at Mudeford. Mike was incredibly informative and opened my eyes to a different way of thinking about photography. With only a small number on the course you had plenty of 121 but Mike also left you alone and was not over coaching which was appreciated. I just attended Mike’s One Day Beginner’s Workshop in Mudeford on 26th April, which was a great day out in lovely surroundings. Unfortunately the light wasn’t at its best but at least it didn’t rain!

There were six of us at differing stages of photography so Mike was able to take the time to engage with everyone and assist with our differing needs. Having been on one of Mike’s previous workshops I knew that he would explain everything in a very relatable and easy to understand way, which he did, and which I shall now endeavour to put into practice. This workshop has definitely increased my confidence and motivation and to go out and practice, practice, practice!

Thanks again Mike for the great day at Mudeford.

Mike spoke (via Zoom) at our camera club and shared some great images and provided constructive practical advice and guidance. The talk is titled "Photo Alchemy". A great night was had by all.

It was boxing day, and I had a few moments and had a question I needed to ask Mike about his course, so I sent an email, knowing it would be answered in the new year.

No not Mike, an answer came back a few hours later.

Only on week one but learnt a hell of a lot in that short time. the courses mike provides are broken down into easy digestible chunks along with precise information and practices. so far i have found that mike and his unique style has given me more of a thirst for photography. i highly recommend this course as ive tried one other photography course before this one and it wasn't clear at all.

Had a great workshop in London with Mike on Saturday 21st September 24.

The “cameras don’t take pictures” workshop was very informative & a lot of fun. The morning seminar started with Mike telling us about his journey & then sharing some of his own images & those of other photographers.

This really got the debate & conversation flowing before a break for lunch of your own choice & venue.

For the afternoon session we all met up at the Tate modern for a photowalk along the south bank towards Tower bridge. A great afternoon keeping in mind some of the items covered in the morning with Mike on hand for advisor needed.

I would certainly recommend the day & I will probably book up again next year.

I attended Mike’s Cameras Don’t Take Pictures seminar & walking tour on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed it and came away feeling inspired to get out and about to take more photographs. The seminar was interesting, insightful and made us think about taking photographs in a different way. Mike had a relaxed, interactive delivery style and a good sense of humour! It was refreshing that the emphasis was on the enjoyment of taking photographs. I would highly recommend the course.

Outstanding course clear and easy to follow,delivered in a way that flows

I booked a 1-2-1 workshop with Mike as I hadn’t done a proper shoot for a few years due to health issues and operations.
I wanted to get ‘inspiration’ again and be more creative. I also wanted to incorporate a sunshine shoot.
I have followed Mike on YouTube and his web sites but first time I had met Mike in person.
Met Mike at 5am and although managed to get some sunrise shot, the clouds didn’t play ball all the time. But Mike in his usual cheerful and enthusiastic manner came with a back up plan and we did a shoot around the quay.
Mike met all my objectives and reminded me of other essential elements including looking around the borders watching the direction of the light and distracting elements.
So a great day and a great investment of my time. Definitely 5 stars plus.
I have now booked onto Mike’s Lanzarote Workshop.

I want my life to take me to a long distance

I am incredibly grateful to have Mike as my photography coach. As someone who has always had an immense love for photography, I wanted to improve my skills and follow my passion. Mike's well-structured guidelines and mentorship have been instrumental in helping me become a better photographer.

Mike's approach feels like he is holding my hand and walking me through the beautiful garden of photography. His personalized guidance and support have made a significant impact on my learning experience, unlike any other courses I've taken, and I believe I've taken a ton since I'm in the IT field.
