Very well constructed great lessons

This piano lessons are very well constructed with a clear step by step teachings and supported by downloadable materials, really has helped my progress significantly. Hopefully, a life time membership is available, so that in long-term we still can enjoy it and refer back to the great lessons.

Clarity and structure develop self-belief!

Hayden was very helpful at responding to my request for guidance for setting up.
I am returning to Pianogroove and have started the Georgia on my Mind course. His explanations are very clear and with constant repetition by me I am making progress. The particular aspects I appreciate so far, about Pianogroove are:
(i) clear structure leading somewhere, and not merely a multitude of videos which sit alone and look like they have been added because someone thought they were a good idea. Context and structure for me are key!
(ii) Many courses of Pianogroove lead to being able to play competently a standard song which will add to my repertoire. I like the way that you demonstrate the song at the very beginning which provides the motivation for starting and continuing the course.
You get us thinking " I could play like that!"

I like the overall content of the site !

I like the overall content of the site and how the lessons are laid out. Very clear and concise explanations of all interesting points (musical, historical, etc).
I really appreciate the fact that I can vary the speed of the lesson, since I am a jazz beginner and I also like a lot seeing other styles like latin bossa, cuban, etc.
I would like to see a section where people can send song requests to be analyzed and lessons would explain how to play these songs, depicting the right chords, but I ignore if this is feasible because of copyright issues (?)

The best beginner to intermediate blues course available.

There is a lot in the beginning blues course on Pianogroove. Best of all is the clear explanations of probably 15 or more turn arounds. Put these and the passing chord lessons through 5 or 6 keys and you will have a great foundation.

Using Hayden’s turn around lessons I’ve been able to figure out some Dr John turn arounds I’ve wanted to understand for years.

I’m hoping this will become a series to include more left hand treatments, and use of more diminished chords and scales within the blues.

But for now, there is plenty to keep me busy in my blues quest.

Great experience + Update

Update: Still happy, still working on it.

Great experience

I enjoy the journey so far, Hayden´s voice and articulation should also be mentioned...it is just a joy to listen to his English.

For business purposes I had to interrupt my course and Hayden was so generous to add this time for me, something I really appreciate.

The course is very motivating and I am happy I bought it!

high quality but perhaps lacking in detailed skills development

This is a high quality, carefully designed program. And so far I've only explored it for a couple of weeks.
At times however, I find myself feeling that the online format could be more fully exploited.
There are some excellent overviews. But a much greater depth of exercises and examples would aid in skill development for the student. Working with improvised forms, the student needs to cover a lot of vocabulary building and repetition before they will be able to create their own lines. So far the material is very interesting but the blow by blow skills development is lacking. There are chapter headings and interesting paragraphs, but perhaps not whole chapters.

My enjoyable rewarding experience

First of all I wish to express my appreciation for Hayden’s method of teaching. I just completed the first section in Foundations Beginner and can clearly see how each aspect has helped me get to 7th Chords in All 12 Keys. It’s so exciting to analyze during practice and see how they are built. I feel liberated from the curse of frustration that ruled my attempts formerly when trying to apply other methods of approach to Jazz learning. Now I can visualize how to shape beautiful chords while learning new songs to play.

Loads of Useful Material

Hayden's lessons, for me, are the best on the site. Explained in detail with good accompanying reference material. Certainly a great find - probably biased towards comping rather than solo cocktail style, but I am still learning a lot.

A very good explanation and examples…

A very good explanation and examples given of the subjects taught. I also congratuled you for the documents provided in addition.
i slight improvement would be the addition of a fingering proposal for difficult areas in the documents. Currently i have to understand them in looking at the films several times in (sometimes) very slow motion.
