Great company
Great company - the lessons could be improved though as dialogue during the lessons was quite monotone and lacking in enthusiasm. At times the lessons were a little hurried. Sorry
A systematic approach to versatile piano playing.
The teaching/learning material is presented in a thoughtful, systematic with comprehensive detail in a logical manner. All the supporting videos, PDFs and links are very carefully constructed to give all the clarity and background one could ask for. And there is also very good capacity for questions and feedback given in a very personal manner. I've just begun a years subscription so currently I'm mildly overwhelmed by the volume of content, so at the end of the year ask again.
In just 2 days of working through some basic drills I have learnt new skills.

PianoGroove is something very special
I‘ve only been there for a few days by PianoGroove, but these online jazz piano school and community are something very special. Personal contact via email and the well-structured courses stand out. And Hayden is for me a great jazz piano teacher and player. He also helps me to learn english, because I`m an old german guy.
Good, but not perfect
Nice course, especially nice JAZZ entry-point. However, it definitely lacks the CHORD SHAPES, come on! not all can (and want) to read sheet music. even some free resources can provide it, why this premium can't...

I have bought like 3 times online course for big money. Guess what, this is the best! Because jazz standard is the key to playing all kinds of songs! They just runs you through every single chord and keys.
Super recommended
My dreams can come true
I have always been wanting to be a jazz pianist and started playing by ear and never went for a formal music education (for want of time, being a busy doctor and also teaching at an university. I soon realised that I was missing on a strong foundation which was absolutely necessary. Now that I have retired, I registered with the few teachers available (in Chennai, India), but was very dissatisfied with the progress. While listening to a lot of jazz on Youtube, I stumbled onto PianoGroove and thought it wouldn't hurt to go for their $1 trial! It was very evident to me, as I skimmed through their various courses that this was the right place where I could build a strong foundation. After some interesting interactions I had with Hayden during the first week, I was sure this was the place to take me forwards and signed up for their annual plan.
Now it's been a month since I signed up, and am so happy with their 'Beginner' courses. It is so beautifully structured and explained with clarity to show the absolute importance, and how, to build the essential strong foundation. The portal also has an avenue to clarify all your doubts and hiccups, by the teacher himself, that makes the learning curve very smooth. The encouragement of practicing drills along with selected jazz standards actually makes drills quite pleasant !!
An added bonus to this curriculum is the 'community' page, which is very nice where you can read the thoughts and experiences of other students and share yours as well. I am confident I will progress here. Thank you PianoGroove.
Thanks for the great lessons!
Hayden inspires confidence
Hayden responds quickly to questions and concerns. And he inspires confidence that we can all do this thing!
Hayden is a great teacher
Hayden is a great teacher. I have trouble learning to play on line but his videos are really great and helpful. I've played all my life (I'm 74) but am still learning. Having a lot of trouble with theory but that will come in time.

The lessons are easy to follow and the instructor takes his time explaining everything, including the theory. I am specifically talking about the Boogie Woogie lessons that are outstanding. I am an organ player who decided to take on something different and learning is fun the way this particular class is conducted. I suggest maybe spending some more time in slow motion turnarounds that can be tricky on a piano for a new comer.

PianoGroove is saving me THOUSANDS of dollars. I thought the only way I would learn the theory behind what I already knew was to enroll in college. There are literally NO teachers of Jazz music where I live. I am more than thrilled to invest in myself and PianoGroove helps me to do that at the most reasonable price. They have THE BEST resources. I say take a chance on YOU with PianoGroove. Right now!
