Better to have one and not need it than need it and not have one. In exceptional circumstances my 4 year old rescue escaped and got lost. I found her across two muddy fields in complete winter night darkness a mile from where she started. Paid for itself in that moment when she was close enough to hear me and come running.

These are excellent. As long as you remember to recharge the unit regularly, it provides accurate location and activity data. A particular plus point is not having to pay a subscription.
