Alan McKeown surveyed two houses for us - in Tattenhall and Farndon - and his careful appraisal of the first one enabled us to avoid a costly error. I particularly liked his personal touch with reports being augmented by direct telephone conversations. It established a real connexion and, as a non-technical person, it gave me the opportunity to ask further questions. The reports themselves were detailed, giving potential purchasers all the evidence they needed to decide on whether to go ahead and buy the properties or not. Clear distinctions were made between issues that needed attention and the ones which were of minor concern. The advice on the action that should be taken to remedy problems was very helpful, especially concerning those which needed to be dealt with by specialist tradesmen.

I recently used Plumb Stone Surveyors for a survey on my new home. Alan was efficient, informative and provided great customer service when arranging a time to view with the current owner as he kept me informed the whole time. His in-depth report was completed really quickly and enabled me to move forward quickly with the house-buying process.

We've used Alan three times now for homebuyer surveys, and have always been extremely pleased with the level of service he provides. He is approachable,has a relaxed nature,a detailed knowledge of his profession,and is always open to talking things through either pre or post survey.The most recent survey Alan did for us, showed that the house we are currently in the process of buying is in fairly good condition under the hood compared to the previous ones we were considering buying; we're chuffed to have had the opportunity to use Alan throughout our buying journey to date.We simply wouldn't use any other surveyor in the future other than Alan; having a good rapport with a surveyor is priceless. We most certainly would recommend Alan to anyone reading this review-its just a shame that we cant give 6 stars, he's been a massive help😊

Alan’s communication throughout was excellent. His report was comprehensive in coverage and detailed without needing to be a specialist yourself to understand it. We received a call immediately after the survey with a high level download and confirmation there were no material findings that could impact the purchase. This was very reassuring. Previous surveys we had done have been alarmist, where Alan was balanced and stuck to the facts and his professional view. Excellent and would highly recommended.

I would highly recommend Plumb Stone Surveyors Ltd. Alan carried out a Level 3 Building Survey on a 120 year old, 2-bedroom cottage for me. Throughout the whole process, start to finish, his communication was great and explained everything extremely well. The survey report was very thorough, specific, detailed, highlighted issues clearly and concisely - I found the ‘traffic light’ system in the report very useful. We also discussed the report further on the phone, he answered all of the queries I had. I really appreciated him giving his experienced, honest opinion and advice. We are purchasing an older home, and in our survey (conducted by another firm) there was evidence of damp. We paid Alan to conduct a damp report. Alan was great - his report was considerate of the age of the property and he was very helpful with his recommendations (and what we should prioritise). I wish that I had found Alan earlier so he could have conducted our initial survey too!! Highly recommended

The Level 3 survey report conducted on our intended purchase was objective, specific, comprehensive and written in plain English - the traffic light system Alan used was so useful. Following the report, we had a lengthy phone call when we discussed practical and realistic ways forward. Exceptional, high quality, detailed service from beginning to end at a sensible cost. We’ve had several surveys in the past from other companies and have been disappointed by the tick-box, disinterested, anti-litigation basic drivel that was written. PlumbStone was the opposite of this. It’s rare to find a professional who clearly loves their job and gives a bespoke, professional and detailed customer focused report of the highest quality. Even our highly experienced solicitor commented that the survey was ‘as good as they come’. The survey from Plumb Stone has allowed us to move towards the house purchase confidently aware of all the issues in what is a complicated and large purchase. Even the house sellers of the property we had surveyed only had complimentary things to say about their experience. This is how surveyors should be.
