I was buying an older property that had been refurbished in 2016. It looked immaculate, bar some patchy paint work that I just put down to sloppy workmanship. Due to the age of the building, I wanted to be sure that there were no nasty surprises, so I asked Alan for a Building Survey. He spoke with me to go through what his work would entail, and he didn't use any complicated jargon and put no pressure on me to use his services. Not only was he able to do the survey earlier than anticipated, but he called me the same day to discuss the outcome briefly before providing me with a full report a few days later. He saved me from making an expensive mistake in purchasing the house, as the repairs needed before moving in would have been extensive and costly. Alan's report was very thorough and easy to understand, and he welcomed any questions following it. He kept his promises throughout, and he showed genuine care in dealing with my concerns over the building. I highly recommend Plumb Stone Surveyors and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Worth every penny. We've previously used different surveyors but never felt that the quality of the reports were particularly good. Things couldn't have been more different with Alan. He was communicative, prompt and extremely helpful at all stages of the process. The report itself is fantastic - thorough yet extremely clear and easy to read and understand. Alan has even gone to the trouble of including additional pieces of information which may be of help/interest when reading the report or considering works to be done. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better service, would highly recommend and will definitely use if we move again!

Speed of Service - Excellent: The surveyor issued the report a week after the survey.
Quality of Service - Excellent: We appreciate how user-friendly the report format is. This report is tailored for use by the average public user, without any compromise on detail. Example reports received from other surveyors were virtually unusable, pitched at civil engineer level. We would have spent hours googling terminology, a task you don't want to be doing for the price you pay.
Client Care - Excellent: The surveyor showed great interest in making the survey as bespoke to us as possible: he was the only one we quoted from who made time for a call, asked about specific concerns, and any renovation work we would want to do. He gave an interim summary call between the survey and issuing the report, which was a great relief. When the report was issued, he welcomed further discussion on its contents. We feel safe and reassured that he has inspected at the property prior to purchase.
Recommendation - I would not hesitate to recommend Plumbstone Surveyors to anyone who wants a high quality and actually usable building survey report.
