I had a very disappointing experience with PM Car Sales. (Northern Star Motors) Seaham

After purchasing a vehicle, communication became extremely poor and I repeatedly had to chase for updates regarding ongoing issues. The vehicle was supplied without the V5C logbook, which meant I was unable to legally use the car for a significant period after collection.

I was left without any vehicle for 10 days before a courtesy car was eventually provided, and the replacement vehicle was not equivalent to the vehicle purchased. Throughout the process, emails and follow-ups were either ignored or delayed, and I often felt I had to continually chase for basic communication and progress.

While the issue was eventually resolved, the overall experience caused a great deal of unnecessary stress, inconvenience and disruption. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend.

Be warned.

I purchased a 2023 AMG A45S for £42,000, completely unseen delivery in good faith, after being assured it was in “immaculate” condition. What I received was anything but.

The car arrived with faulty front parking sensors and severely misaligned wheel alignment. This wasn’t just inconvenient — it was dangerous. My undergraduate son was driving when one of the tyre lost air due to the alignment issue resulting excessive wear on inner side. It could have ended far worse.

It’s clear the dealership was aware of the problem, as they put this two‑year‑old car through an unnecessary fresh MOT, seemingly to cover themselves. There were scratches on the paintwork, the diamond‑cut wheels had been painted over to hide damage, and despite being told the first service was documented, no proof was provided.

This car was meant to be a wedding gift for my son, yet within a short time the wheel alignment failed at Kwik Fit, and I had to replace two tyres out of my own pocket.

I’m a consultant by profession, and I expect honesty and basic due diligence — neither of which I received here.

I got five star treatment when I arrived late when the shop was closed and ash came back and gave me my car. Ash gave me detailed information about my car and I drove away. Big up to the best car dealer P&M car sales

These guys are very caring and great to deal with. Had to delay my purchase waiting for test results and that was no problem. Delighted with the car. A minor fault emerged and James was in to this straight away. My Porsche needed codes from a main dealer and any stress was taken away from me. Quality courtesy car provided for me whilst car being fixed

From start to delivery of vehicle the service I received was over and above. All the guys, Jamie, Ben, Garry, Chris , james , could not of been more helpful. My car was delivered on a Sunday ! That in itself shows the level of service they provided. Totally recommend buying your car from PM Cars.

Recently bought a cracking little mini for daughter’s 1st car, and she absolutely loves it. Immaculate inside and out and also a brilliant price. Customer service was amazing, even opening up on a Sunday to accommodate us. Paul was a genuinely trustworthy guy. Would definitely buy fro PM cars again.

Bought my a45 great experience and no pressure salesman. I’m happy with my part exchange price and the way they dealt with a small niggle with the car after purchase was first class . Top lads and I’ll defo buy from them again when the time comes

Great garage Jamie made it so easy I bought a bmw x4 loverly car nearly new (4 1/2)months old also took my bmw dash camera out and put in new car took my wife and I to seaham for 3 hours then pick us up again would buy again

A fantastic company in everyway. The car is even better than Paul described it. Due to the distance and Covid I couldn’t see the car In the flesh and have bought the car based on Paul’s professionalism and honesty without even seeing it. The car is even better than I hoped it would be. I had an issue getting it delivered so Paul arranged for their delivery driver to make the 200 mile trip. He set off at 3am so I could see the car in the daylight. He couldn’t do enough for us and was a genuine lovely man who’s a credit to their company. It’s been a rolls Royce service from start to finish in every way. I’ll be buying again from them. This is as good as it gets, having bought from main dealer Porsche previously their company could teach main dealers how it should be done. Class company. Thank you Paul and Steven

1st class service. Professional & hassle free. We saw the car on line whilst boarding a flight in Italy and by the time we had landed in London the car had been delivered to our London home. A fabulous car and the easiest car purchase ever. Highly recommended.

What a refreshing experience! I hate buying cars but Tony has been helpful and knowledgable and a pleasure to do business with. The car was the right price and he offered a good deal as part exchange. I would not hesitate to recommend buying a car from PM Cars in the future.
