I am a veteran who recently reached out…

I am a veteran who recently reached out to the royal British legion and veterans job charity as I was made redundant and struggling to find work and pay bills, this will lead to me being homeless if I don’t source work, they sent me on a goose chase, I registered as requested on the phone.

It’s been over a month and I have heard nothing back, they will happily take everyone’s money, but when it comes to helping veterans they don’t do anything, all a scam in my opinion.

30years in the Amy and…....Nothing

After spending 30years in the Amy and then being Medically Discharged I thought that the RBL were there to help if I needed it. I asked for help funding an adjustable bed as my body is wrecked and they are expensive.
Didn't happen, unless I've got it wrong I spent ages filling in forms over the phone to be told that it would be passed onto Regimental charities. time passed and it didn't happen. All the adverts and advertising in mags and papers with the promises of undying help when you need it most-----what a croc of crap. As long as all the `T's` are crossed and `i's` are dotted nothing else matters. Don't bother, go elsewhere but not H4H as they are the same. I asked for help with funding for a Double Adjustable Bed and even said I would pay it back. The amount of questions asked made me think I had asked for a mortgage for a castle.

I have no respect for this organization…

I have no respect for this organization at all, its all take with them with very little output.

I served in the British Army for 22 years, seeing active deployments to Northern Ireland, Iraq, Afghanistan, and United Nations peace support operations.

On leaving my amazing daughter moved in with me, she was 12.

I struggled to find employment to start with, so I turned to the British Legion for help, what a joke.

I was a Soldier leaving the Army, no job, a single parent and a Mortgage to pay, they didnt offer any assistance Whatsoever, they were useless.

Like so many organizations, there's no help whatsoever, when you leave the military, you are on your own, so make it happen.

Happy to say I did that, I made it happen.

I wear a poppy out of respect, not to support the organization.

Date of experience will not let me go back that far - September 2014.

It should really be one star

It should really be one star. Things the second and last time I have ordered online. The first time the items arrived after the 11th and once again…no sign. I’ll stick to paper ones next time. Stop using EVRI!

No complaints department

Does anybody know who you can complain to about The British Legion. I've asked half a dozen times. Nobody seems to know. Would be much appreciated if anybody replies. Thank You.

I placed an order for poppies in…

I placed an order for poppies in advance for Remembrance Sunday, which unfortunately never arrived. However, I was able to easily contact the shop and was offered my money back or place a new order. I was able to speak to the same lady in customer service on several occasions. She was very understanding, polite and efficient. I was able to replace my order and have since purchased further products for a Christmas present, which had arrived promptly. I can appreciate that multiple orders can be difficult to manage, as everyone was probably ordering poppies at the same time. I would like to comment that the customer service I received was outstanding!

Best poppies to wear.

I bought 2 poppy pins with words...Lest we forget ... under the poppy and they are really lovely.
They have stayed on my jackets since I bought them. You just push the front part into position on your coat with the pin through the material and squeeze the attachment on the other side and it fits onto the pin.
You will need to wear glasses to see it but once on it is secure, looks nice and shows your support for the forces, for your country and for the British Legion.
I am very pleased with them. Lorna Lea.

Shocking

Shocking. Husband ordered a Tottenham Hotspur poppy on the official website, was sent a milwall football club. Asked to refund item (was happy to send the one we received back) as was purchased for Nan who lost her husband who supported Tottenham and was told no due to being a charity. Which is fair enough if I had decided to buy it wear it and sent it back but that was not the case and my husband stated how he supports the poppy every year however due to service received it will be unlikely he will and he was told that that’s okay. We have loads of other people that do.

I bought a Poppy-print shawl for Remembrance Day

I bought a shawl for Remembrance Day. It is beautiful - the colours are wonderfully bright and the texture of the fabric is so soft and warm. I love it. However, I would warn other customers that the small photos are not a good representation of the colours. The large group photo is much more accurate. The one I bought is 3rd from the left.

No moral compass

3rd time I’ve ordered & not received my goods in a timely delivery schedule.
Where is your moral compass? Over 2 weeks to deliver products required for an obvious delivery date, other organisations deliver in 1/2 days!

Order metal Poppy pins and hair clips…

Order metal Poppy pins and hair clips from the RBL website 2 weeks before Remembrance Sunday and they arrived the Wednesday after Remembrance Sunday (and charged £4.95 for late delivery) so dated 2024 pins now useless to me. I contacted them to complain but even submitting a complaint via a form on their website threw up a error. I will continue to support the charity locally but their website and the service it provides is an absolute joke.

One broke. But All three arrived within a few days

All three arrived within a few days. They’re beautiful brooches. However, the small round wreath poppy pin broke as soon as I opened the pin/lock. Far too delicate. A real shame as it has snapped clean off and it was stunning.
