I rated my product as good which it was..according to their guidelines. I took photos.. they didn't ask to see them. They offered a fair price however when they received it they rated it as poor...definitely wasn't and offered me a much lower price. Used magnifying lamps to check it...well if it's not visible to the naked eye means it is in good condition. I've requested it to be returned to me. I rather give it away than be cheated. Will never use them again

Thank you for sharing your experience of our service, believe it or not I do welcome 1-star reviews when they arise, which is very uncommon, as these provide us with opportunities to improve and look closer at our internal systems for training and development to ensure we keep providing a top-level service.
I have personally looked at your recycling sale, which was for a Samsung Galaxy A12, which you did indeed submit as 'good' which is our top grading criteria, with an online offer price of £36. Upon receiving your device, the screen was quite badly scratched and we did indeed have to downgrade your device to the 'poor' criteria and reduce the offer price to £26 to reflect the quality of the screen.
When we come to resell the device, a new owner would not have accepted the screen as 'Good', and due to the low value of the device a screen replacement isnt financially viable, so we are quite hard on our grading quality. This is purely to reflect the very high standards we set in order to provide a good service to both our recycling customers and those customers purchasing used and refurbished devices from us. Sometimes this does mean that there is a disagreement in how we have graded a device, which seems to be the case in this scenario.
You did inform our customer service team that you could provide photos taken before being sent, but didn’t receive these to review, and we did send photos of the scratches during the re-grade process for your referencer. Non-the-less, after rejecting the £10 downgrade we did offer to send your device back completely free of charge so you could try and sell it personally and secure more money that way. We do this because we do not want our customers to be out of pocket, despite there being a cost to the business of getting your device in, testing it and then returning it free. This reflects the high level of customer service we provide to every single customer.
Whilst i would like to take this opportunity to apologise that on this occasion your recycling sale didn’t go how you would have liked it, i would like to also add that we are 100% open, honest and clear with every customer, and recycling with us is a risk free process as you get your device back completely free of charge with no financial loss to you if you dont agree with our grading criteria.
You phone has already been packed and is shipping in today mail.

Not difficult but requires some research

Asked to supply PIN which was a surprise as I would have thought a factory reset would have made this unnecessary? Companies need to remember that older people still exist and not everyone has been brought up with IT.

Hi Alex, thanks for your review. We do always encourage customers to be honest, so we can learn and develop as a business. We understand that not every recycle sale goes 100% to plan, and it's important that we provide a high level of customer service with every opportunity.
I have investigated your order, and I can see that your device arrived with a heavily scratched screen and unfortunately meant that we had to adjust your offer price accordingly. Any re-grades we are forced to make are backed up with detailed photos to highlight any issues we find, and an honest appraisal of the devices condition. We also offer the option to have the device sent back, totally free of charge, if the regraded price isnt acceptable so our customers aren’t left out of pocket. Which was an option we provided to you.
I can confirm that we dont intentionally damage customers devices. Doing so increase our repair costs and wouldn’t be an ethical practice. If you take some time to read our reviews, you can see we are a genuine and honest business.
Finally, id like to apologise that on this occasion things did go perfectly well. But your feedback will provide a base for additional training and development of our team.

Prompt and honest
Very easy to use. Acknowledged receipt of phone. I had advised incorrect GB (my bad) so they alerted me to that. Also advised I had screen burn (which I had never heard of before) which was unfortunate and which led to my initial valuation being decreased. However, I couldn't argue as they are the tech experts re phones, not me. Accepted revised quote and money received same day. All in all took a week so very fast.

First ever refurbished phone
This was my first experience of using the services of Preloved Tech, I’ve been looking around for a few months to upgrade my trusty IPhone 7 to something a little faster, I was due an upgrade from my network provider “EE” for over 700 days when I finally started looking, I’d moved to sim only years ago as the 2 year costs of continually upgrading to the latest phone tech just got futile.
On researching I found the best phone for me would be the IPhone 12 Pro, it’s 5g ready and I would need at least 128g memory.
The market is replete with refurbishment companies, I personally have 30 years in the IT industry, my advice would be to go with a certified refurb company, you should get what it states in the advert, and I was looking for a grade “A” IPhone, this is where choosing a certified refurb company comes in, as in many places grading can be somewhat subjective.
Amazon or EBay have these types of quality refurb companies, just look out for the certification in the advert.
My choice was for an IPhone 12 Pro 128g from Preloved Tech advertising on EBay and with a 10% discount, this does max out at £60 off the listed price.
I placed the order and choose to pick up the phone myself as they are based locally for my place of work in Telford, I was met outside by the owner and was handed the phone scanned the EBay bar code and advised of the warranty, after a pleasant conversation I left to go back to work.
On opening the package, it came in a brand new certified Apple refurb box, certified and new cable and even a new pin to eject the sim slider.
The phone itself seriously looked like it had come straight out of production, immaculate.
Transfering from my old Apple phone to the new one was an absolute breeze, gone are the days of ITunes back up for sure.
Total 5 star service and product!!!
