Good communication but major price downgrade
Positive - good communication, phone was returned promptly at their expense when I rejected their downgraded offer.
Negative - they cut down an initial quote from £131 to £40 because of an allegedly faulty video microphone. I tested on return and it was working fine.
If there was a problem when they received it it was obviously quite easy to fix. Regardless, this is a pretty minor flaw to claim a 70% reduction. Perhaps this is just the business model of these companies nowadays - I used to get full price quoted and now I get this kind of thing.
Edit: to respond to the reply. I don't doubt the honesty of their communication. I do doubt that the video microphone was seriously faulty as I tested it and it was working fine, thus it wouldn't have needed a £90 (or more) repair to be in good condition!

To review the situation for more clarity:
After detailed testing of your device using industry leading diagnostic software, we identified that one of the internal microphones was faulty and due to the nature of the required repair we did have to downgrade the offer made.
We ensured the diagnostic report was shared with you to show this was a genuine fault, picked up by one of the industries best software testing platforms, in an effort to be as transparent as possible, as we only downgrade offers when faults are found, in a very clear and honest way.
As with all of our offers, you are free to accept or decline, and if declined we send your device back completely free of charge the next day. Which was the case here.
Although you didn't agree with the revised offer, we provided honest and clear communication, validated our offer with diagnostic test results and when you declined we sent your device back completely free of charge the very next day.
We are not a company who offers high prices online then downgrade our customers phones after testing. This is dishonest and not a way we choose to do business. Because of our commitment to customer satisfaction and transparent business practices, we consistently maintain over 95% 5-star Trustpilot customer feedback, a statistic we are extremely proud of and represents how we conduct our businesses on a daily basis and will continue to do so moving forward.
All in all, despite the price not being accepted, we feel we have offered a very good level of service which is our aim with every order.
