Last year my optician told me he couldn’t prescribe glasses until I had my cataracts removed and he recommended Thomas Ressiniotis at Midland Eye.

Thomas examined my eyes and explained the options for treatment very clearly to me and suggested that, as well as having the cataracts removed, I should consider having stents inserted to relieve the pressure in my eyes (a result of my long standing glaucoma).

I had the cataract in my right eye removed and a stent inserted in January this year and had the same procedure in my left eye in February.

I was a little nervous before the first operation but Thomas and his team were very caring and communicated clearly with me throughout the procedure. I was surprised at how quickly and painlessly the operation was completed. As a result, I approached the second operation with a great deal of confidence.

Now, both cataracts have been removed and at the age of 90 I am able to read books again. In addition, the pressure in my eyes has reduced significantly because of the stents although I am having further laser treatment in May to try and reduce them a little further.

I have no hesitation in recommending Thomas and would like to thank him and all at Midland Eye for the excellent care they have provided to me.

Mr Ressiniotis has treated me for glaucoma and cataracts in both eyes. He always explains everything very clearly and behaves in a considerate and professional manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Ressiniotis.

Mr Ressiniotis is a charming gentleman who puts one at ease before cutting into one's eyeball to remove a cataract, insert an implant and an I stent in about 30 mins. No pain, reassurance and information what was being done at all times.
Probably have the other eye done sooner rather than later.

I had Yag Laser Capsulotomy yesterday, performed by Mr Ressinoitis at Spire Little Aston. The procedure was quick and painless. I was shown a short video before the treatment so I knew exactly what to expect.
I would recommend Mr Ressinoitis for Laser Capsulotomy without hesitation as I felt safe and confident in his care.

Mr Ressiniotis first performed a Trabeculotomy on my left eye some years ago and lately performed a YAG laser posterior capsulotomy (11/10/2023). On both occasions he provided great care and expertise with both operations being totally successful so I have no hesitaton in recommending him to others.

Thomas explained each and every part of the procedure, I had lens replacement surgery on both eyes, over 2wks. Pre surgery appointments and eye tests all done to exacting high standards. Discussions over all types of available procedures were explained and offered to me. Post op checks made and I'm absolutely 100% pleased with the results.

From my first appointment with Mr Thomas Ressiniotis I have to say that the treatment I received was exceptional he totally allayed my fears as to the pressures in my eyes and my subsequent treatment of cataracts in both eyes all of this was completed within two weeks and his explanations of all procedures was exemplary as were the staff at the Midland Eye. I would not hesitate to recommend this consultant to anyone wishing to have cataract surgery.

Life Changing! Not only Thomas but all the staff at Midland Eye were brilliant. They were very welcoming on each visit, making me feel relaxed and comfortable. No waiting around for ages to be seen. Thomas did an amazing job on both my eyes between 5 - 19 Sep 23, explaining everything that was going to happen each step of the way. I can't recommend him and Midland Eye highly enough.

Yesterday I was discharged by Mr Ressiniotis following a check up on the cataract removal from my right eye, my left eye having been operated upon back in June.
I am very pleased to say that my distance vision is now like it was when I was a teenager, the change is remarkable and it such a relief not to have misted vision. I wake each day feeling overwhelmed at what i can now see clearly without the aid of glasses.
I return to my optician in approx 2 weeks time for a sight test and will only need glasses for reading.
