Brought a tent from this company, then read these very reviews and was abit worried. Sent an Email and the chap gave me a call, advised when it would be dispatched, and it arrived exactly as planned, he was a nice chap too, gave me some solid advice on my purchase. I absolutely would buy from this company again. No questions asked. 5/5

Due to issues on their end I had a poor experience initially. Once I managed to make contact with Stephen he explained the situation in full, chased up the courier, issued a refund and offered me a little compensation.

I was not expecting this result after reading the other reviews but it shows that having a little more patience and empathy during this crisis pays off as many small businesses are struggling with unforseen complications arising from the government's Covid-19 restrictions.

I am happy to shop here again!

Fast delivery, great communication, 5 star service!!

I don't normally leave reviews but thought I'd leave one for the guys while they have struggled through the covid pandemic.

I initially bought a tent from prepare for adventure which had a broken pole that I only noticed after 3 months as I hadn't used it because we was in lock down.
Their return policy states items must be returned within 30 days which is normal acceptable procedure from any company.
I called them to explain I'd bought the tent in April but not used it and had only noticed the broken pole in July.
As it was a manufacturer problem and I hadn't used it myself the guys accepted the return with no arguments, they paid the postage and very quickly sent me out another tent.
I was very happy with the way they handled the situation and have since bought a new sleeping pad and a pair of walking poles which arrived today. (Thanks)
I had a good conversation with the owner who admitted they had struggled recently with a number of things going wrong for them and of course covid has played it's part.
Just thought I'd support the guys here and leave some honest feedback and I wish you well in the future and of course I'll be happy to buy from you again.

Only received part of my order, at first customer service was decent, apologised and said they would correct my order, after over 30 unanswered calls and several unanswered emails including emails from PayPal I can only conclude this business has gone under possibly due to Covi-19, just a guess.

Please avoid this company, you’ll end up with a head ache you don’t need.

If you are stupid enough to buy from this company (like me) - they will not honour your purchase. They will not answer the phone to correct the situation, they will not reply to any e-mail you send and even more disrespectful to you - they will not reply to PayPal or VISA /Mastercard disputes.

Do not buy from this company!
I have been waiting over a month for my order but still havent received it, I have emailed them numerous times but got no reply.

Bought a Robens Klondike from the website which is an amazing tent.
Dean sent us a video he'd made setting the tent up which was really useful.
The tent arrived quickly and tracking information was supplied via email along with order confirmation and VAT invoice.
We then made a 2nd purchase a week later for 4 sleep mats, 4 sleeping bags, some cooking equipment and other bits and bobs, again the transaction was smooth and advice spot on and really helpful.
We now have a new full set up ready for 4th of July when the camp sites open again!
I have good faith in this store and will definitely be using them again, I think they've struggled recently due to covid like a lot of stores have.

Similar to other complaints. Made a purchase, 2 weeks later - no delivery. When I emailed the seller I got no response. Emailed again through PayPal service and still no response. Finally raised a claim through PayPal and seller emailed me to say they sent it DPD but has been lost and can replace with a different product. No DPD details given and I have DPD account and could see nothing was listed for collect/dispatch/ on courier. I reinforced my request for a full refund and no more response came from seller. Out of spite, he made me wait a further 3 weeks to get a refund through PayPal services.

Online experience buying a DD 3x3 tarp, goretex bivvy, winter sleeping bag plus compression sack and a couple of odds and ends to go with it. Items all of a high quality and at decent prices, the best around which were my initial reasons for purchasing from this store.
There was a problem with the courier and the parcel was returned to the sender and after a call to the store the issue was quickly resolved and items resent. The call ended up being a long call due to common interests with the friendly helpful staff member I spoke to.
Other than a small hiccup delay with the delivery I’ll definitely be using prepare for adventure again, my items and customer experience was top notch. I hope to get the chance to visit the store in person when I’m up that way.

"Prepare for frustration". Bought for 50 Pounds but never recieved anything and no response on e-mails. Luckily I payed using PayPal, where there is an option to complain and get payment returned.

I have spent over £50 on an order on the 1st of may and it's now the 3rd of June and absolutely nothing. No emails no order confirmation the money has come out of my account, I am livid I have left mutiple voicemails on both of there landline and phone numbers, they are nor replying to emails or posts on their social media.

Avoid them they are absoulute scumbags !

After attempting to send my items back via the Hermes service provided, I found the process so difficult that I ended up paying more for a tracked royal mail service.

My items were received and signed for by Conroy, so I know they have my goods.

After over 3 weeks of emailing, calling and messaging on Facebook I am still unable to even speak to someone. I doubt I will see my money. But the least I can do is warn others away from purchasing from this retailer, I see from other reviews I am not the only one to experience this.

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews for these guys. I bought a DD hammock under-quilt and some dynema rope. The order was dispatched really quickly (confirmation by email from both PFA and their courier soon after) both confirmed dispacth only a day or so after my order was placed... (unfortunately the courier took forever (~ a week!) to actually deliver - "due to 'covid' restrictions". However Prepare for Adventure delivered the goods for me, really good price and excellent products (as anticipated). They are recommended by me for sure... I'd just have patience if buying again as I think they might have been struggling with some orders during lockdown. Will be back!

Ordered over a week ago. Email from site alleged that shipped on day 1 but was contradicted by the website. No response to email querying what going on. Nobody answering phone.

Claim made with credit card. Shame.

I came across this company via google whilst searching for some knives. The website drew me in, it's good looking and besides ordering what i needed i had a good browse. There's some great gear for sale and it doesn't just appear to be all the same old... same old. I received my knives, I chose two but added another to qualify for the free delivery offer. I received an order confirmation, invoice and email when they were despatched. Goods arrived via Hermes within the same week, tracked and well packaged. I will use this company again, I'll probably say that they'll be my first option.

Ordered a couple of items. Both arrived promptly. One however, a bivy, was incomplete so I returned the item. This was in early March. I was given no acknowledgement that the parcel had been received or that a refund would be paid, I've had no response to the emails I've sent.

Whether Prepare For Adventure are incompetent or dishonest doesn't make any difference, buying from them isn't worth the risk of losing your money. Unfortunately, without an acknowledgement from the company that they have the item I returned or an email when the refund is due I can't raise a chargeback.

When a company's reviews are either 'totally great' or 'totally awful', with nothing in between, you know something is wrong.
I just don't know what to make of the positive reviews, my experience was beyond bad, but the pattern seems that the good ones refer to an actual shop visit, and the bad ones refer to an online order - in which case, if you do actually exist as a shop... guys, just stop the online stuff, you can't do it.
I placed an order on 1 March, got an automated 'your order is shipped' email day after, but nothing ever arrived. 10 days later I asked them to send or refund - no response. Started a PayPal case few days later... no response.
I was eventually refunded 25 days after placing my order - they still never responded.
'Utterly useless' would be a charitable description. Some might call it a scam operation - I dunno if they'd be correct, but certainly this experience was pretty much the worst online purchase I've ever made.
Avoid.

Ordered two pairs of trousers on 3rd March expecting them to be sent within a couple of days. It clearly says on their website that orders will be dispatched on the next working day (unless it is busy when it can take 48 hours). It also says they will let you know when your order has been dispatched. By Monday 9th March, I had heard nothing so emailed them with no response. I called them on the 10th thinking I might get a better response by talking to someone and they said it had been dispatched the previous week but could give me no tracking details or even which courier they used. They said they would check and get back to me that day but they did not. I had to open a paypal dispute as I cannot deal with a company that has such terrible customer service.
