Prepare For Adventure 

Great company. I ordered a kelly kettle basecamp and some other bits and pieces - which went out of stock. Dean sorted everything out andI received everything very quickly after an email exchange. Would definitely use them again - thanks guys - kids very happy!

Item never arrived and emails ignore until I put in a paypal dispute, still no item .. requests for a refund ignored.
Shame, looked a good range of products but customer service terrible. £80 water filter, not a cheap item. Buyer beware.

UPDATE Now 31st March, still being ignored and the water filter still not sent.

Seems to be a dummy or demo website. I ordered a DD Superlight Tarp from this company 9 days ago. Had an auto generated email saying my order was being shipped, but no tracking info. I contacted the company by email on two occasions and didn't get a reply, they don't answer their phone either. Luckily I paid by credit card so have had to raise a chargeback with them to get my money back. Really disappointed as the website looks legit, but after 9 days of nothing I eventually gave up waiting.

I’d looked around on the internet for the cheapest Exped Downmats and although I could get the model I required cheaper elsewhere, that other supplier advertised 4-7 working days delivery. My planned camping trip was in 6 working days time so I ordered the mat at an extra £30 from this company to be on the safe side as their site advertised 48 hour delivery in the UK.
After 5 days I emailed them asking if they had despatched my order and informed them that fast delivery time had been an important factor in my choosing them. I received no response so emailed the following day asking that they either 1) provide the name of the courier they had used plus a consignment number for my parcel or 2) return my money. They did neither but said that they would look into it and the unnamed courier would conduct a search. I replied that if they could not guarantee my delivery in time for my planned trip then I wished to cancel my order so that I could make my purchase elsewhere at a saving of £30. I never heard back from them, I didn’t get the mat in time for my trip. The mat eventually turned up 15 days after my order was placed.

Really good shop, they've got some good specialised products that's hard to find in a shop these as everything seems to be online only. Helpful staff with excellent knowledge about the outdoors and they don't mind getting stuff out and demonstrating how it works, top company.

Made my first order online, received my items without any problems.
I wanted to get into hammocking but didn't know where to start so I drove over to their shop from Yorkshire! 2.5hr drive but well worth the visit, the guys there are excellent and they set a few hammocks up and ran me through various setups and techniques, really really helpful.
There aren't to many shops like this one, I don't know of any that has the facilities to demonstrate equipment, one guy was showing another customer how to start a fire and use a kelly kettle.
Great setup they have, will be back in the near future.

Really polite and helpful staff. I called into the shop to buy a hammock for my son as he's just joined the scouts. I didn't really know what I was looking for, they took me through their hole range of hammocks even setting them up and showing me easy ways to put them up. I purchased a full hammock setup with a suspension kit but couldn't for the life of me get it up with my son when I got home so I called the shop and they invited me back with my son so they could teach him, so we went back and spent about an hour there, my son can now get his hammock and tarp setup by himself. I highly recommend this shop, the service is friendly and the after care is really good.

What a cracking find this shop was, not many shops specialise in bushcraft and wild camping gear and these guys have the lot. Good prices and great lads

Terrible customer service

After shopping around for the best deal on DD hammocks this company had the best price. I was told it would arrive 3-5 working days and also got a confirmation stating it was on its way. 4 working days later I rang up to see when it would arrive as I didn’t get any response from the email or messages I sent. A man answered just saying hello and not announcing who I had called like most professional company’s do. I then had to ask if I had rang the correct company. I was then told the hammocks should be with me the next day which was Wednesday and the 5th working day.
Nothing arrived so rang up Wednesday afternoon and had to go through the same process. I got no apology for that delay and all he said was he would look into it and come back to me which he never did.
Thursday still no delivery- rang up again and with no apology again was told that item was just collected from Hermes on the Wednesday but not sure when it would arrive.

I was told to call back after 12pm for an update only to find they were closed for the afternoon.

Parcel didn’t arrive till Saturday but by then I had already left for my Christmas vacation to visit my family who the hammock was for as a gift.

Lesson learned. I’ll use reputable company’s in future

Great company! These guys offer great customer care, had an issue with my order that was rectified immediately after I phoned them, they really went above and beyond to resolve my issue, they made it very easy for me and they stayed in contact until my problem was solved. Also the guys are very knowledgeable about the outdoors and given me priceless advice on various products that they don't sell but they still took the time to answer my questions, I will always come to prepare for adventure first for my gear in the future as the after care and advices more than matches their service as a retailer.

Everything as described. Happy with the product and the price paid.

I ordered a british army artic sleeping bag.
The bag arrived on time, since it was second hand i was warned that it might need a bit of a clean and a bit of patching.
A gentle wash ans a little patch and I'm delighted with the bag.
Would definitely do business with prepareforadventure again.

Amazing quality gear at really good prices! Will definitely be using these guys in the future.

My items arrived bit late due to company being hit by a storm which took out the phone and internet.

Got a phone call from them explaining all this and tracking details, communication has been excellent throughout and the items were cheaper then even amazon.

Trust this company will buy from again.
