Poor experience

Poor experience. Non responsive solicitor and even when I complained I had a response from their compliance manager that didn't address the issues but just made up excuses. As a service goes, I would not recommend using these for even getting a signature of some sort, let alone actual legal work.

Great service from Karla Dudley

We have used Prince Evans before for conveyancing and were always very happy with their service. This time Karla took care of three separate, linked transactions for me. She was extremely thorough and proactive, which meant the whole process was coordinated and managed very well. I very much appreciated the fact Karla was so easy to get hold of; she always answered the phone straight away to answer any queries I had and was happy to follow up with emails to clarify any matters further. She was efficient, friendly and patient throughout and I felt confident that I was in good hands.

Competent and Proactive

Jacqueline Easter and her team helped us with the acquisition of our new home. The team kept us steadily informed and communicated promptly with us about updates in the process, and with the seller's solicitors about issues and expected timelines. The legal documentation was comprehensive with explanatory notes that were easy to understand. Jacqueline was very hands-on throughout the transaction. We are very pleased with the transaction and the overall outcome.

not the most organised or prompt in getting in touch with clients.

I have been with this firm a year, a transfer into joint ownership being complicated. The first solicitor I had, Mr Patel, answered messages very rapidly, by email or phone, but after a few months left the firm without telling me, and the firm did not tell me either. I had to chase up the firm for many weeks to get a new solicitor, a difficult and time-consuming process. The new solicitor, Mr Folly, takes 2-4 weeks to answer messages. It does not inspire confidence. This is not a charity but a paid service. I feel as if I am begging a favour. So far the necessary things have been done, but they are taking longer than they should.

Utterly useless bar Amaraj

Customer experience has died for the conveyancing industry. Going through what is the biggest and most frustrating time in anyone's life, selling and buying property, aside from having a child, you hope to have a competent solicitor to help you... Prince Evans isn't that.

From asking us for £1,000 for a lease extension although one had already happened to never respond to any emails or calls this solicitor was the worst I have ever worked with and I was in the agency for years. They didn't respond to emails for up to 2 weeks as they were moving offices, which I find unbelievable.

To then be charged a partners rate when his paralegal did all the work is again simply unbelievable.

Amaraj is the only decent thing about Prince Evans, if you can contract him directly and not have to go through Prince Evans, I would do that otherwise steer well clear and find a cheaper more proactive solicitor.

Prince Evans Solicitors - Stay Clear

Using a Prince Evans Solicitors was the worst thing I could’ve possibly done. Because of them I nearly lost out on the purchase of my first property, my solicitor knew that I had a short space of time before I would be evicted out of my current home and she still constantly ignored me and delayed the process even further by raising issues that didn’t exist. Her unresponsiveness astonished me and made me feel as though I wasn’t paying for a service. When I tried to alert one of the partners of my issues with my current solicitor and get to a solution he was just as awful as her constantly dodging my calls and ignoring my emails.
I had to appoint a new solicitor at another firm in the final two weeks before completion and if I hadn’t switched solicitors at the last minute I’m sure I would’ve lost out on the property. I don’t usually write reviews but after that situation I’m making it a priority so that whoever does want to use them sees this and stays clear.

Super incompetent and negligent

If there was an option to choose 0 starts, that's exactly what I would give. The level of incompetence just unbelievable. No response to emails or phone calls, no updates, constant excuses. It's been 8 months now and there is still no evident progress on our apartment sale, no exchange of contracts, no completion yet. The level of stress is just unbearable anymore, not even talking about financial loss we experience monthly. There is one week left until our buyer's mortgage offer expires and we have just now received un update from the buyer's solicitor stating that exchange is not possible within a week. Looks like completion is doomed.

Do your review homework, get a locked in quote

Judging by other review sites, inaccurate info and poor communication are common complaints. re this Company Reviews for some individuals in certain areas are great but its by no means consistent across the board. My experience is in trying ( still, after almost 3 years) to get a lease extension completed. Any hope of it being done for the fee quoted disappeared about 3 months into the process. It was hoovered up by the most senior fee earner, for the prep work ,including liaising with the surveyor, which any junior could manage. Over £7K later, in fees to P-E alone, I am still chasing completion. My latest query ( I finally got a useful statement of account - took over a year): why has a disputed £600 been paid to the freeholder despite no proof of expenditure being received. I'm still waiting for an answer a month later. Its the final straw in a long line of straws. The last time I got any response as to when I would get the completed extension was along the lines of ' what's your hurry'. All I can say is avoid. Lease extensions like house purchases are rare events in the average life. We are at the mercy of the professionals. My 'burnt fingers' advice is : do your research. The Solicitors review site says: Satisfied with outcome of matter : THIS FIRM - 33% NATIONAL AVERAGE 75%
